DEVONSHIRE. 1.— Crownhill ( Co.).— For obtaining food and lodgings by false pretences, at Brixton, between 14th and 19th ult.— A Man. who gave name of Kenneth A. Watson, b. about IS92, oft. 6 or 7in., medium build, c. fresh, h. dk. brown, clean shaven, limps 1. leg ; dress, double- breasted brown coat ( torn under rt. sleeve), grey trousers, soft collar, tie, black and white striped shirt, grey Trilby hat, carried dk. overcoat. Stated he was a Wesleyan, and is in possession of a membership card of " East Ham Mission Central Hall Brotherhood." Called at loser's house and asked for board and lodgings representing himself to be an inspector employed by the Post Office ( false). He was taken in and supplied with food and lodgings. On 19th ult., he left saying he was going to the office at Plymouth and would return later and pay his bill. He failed to do so and has not been seen since. Soon after his departure a gent's silver watch was discovered missing from a bedroom which Watson had occupied, and he is strongly suspected of stealing same. Description of watch : gent's silver keyless, Benson's Swiss Lever, dent on back, Examined for J. W. Benson, Ludgate Hill. London, printed on the inside. ' During the time Watson stayed at Brixton he became very intimate with the Wesleyan Minister, and associated himself with the Sunday School. He also selected the hymns which were used at the chapel services. At times when on the highway in vicinity of his lodgings he would appear to make notes of alterations to be made to the telegraph wires, etc. Appears identical with Harry Rhodes. C. R. O. No. 910- 06, b. 1863, 5ft. 4in., c. fresh, h. grey, e. ( lost 1.) brown, grey moustache, blue mark 1. cheek and eyebrow, stoops. A spinner; native of Manchester. Pre. con. of larceny, sacrilege, fraud and minor offences at RAWTENSTALL. OLDHAM, DRONFIELD, HEYWOOD, BURY, SADDLEWORTH, BURN- LEY, BRADFORD, CHESTERFIELD, BING- LEY, ( James Greenwood), WAKEFIELD ( Thomas Redfern), NOTTINGHAM, ROCHDALE, BOLTON. HEYWOOD. BACUP, DUKIN- FIELD. MOSSLEY, LEEDS, CHORLEY, RADCLIFFE, ACORINGTON and NELSON ( James Cassidy). Inf. to Supt. Thompson, Bury. 3.- Liverpool ( City).— Case No. 5, 2- 2- 25, cancelled. Alexander Wilkinson not now wanted. SUSSEX ( EAST). 4— Eastbourne ( B'oro.).— Case No, 57, 14- 1- 27, cancelled. Percy Craig not now wanted for this offence. Warrant being withdrawn. D. in red cotton, cross stitched.— Suspicion is attached to Two Men : 1st, b. 1902 to 1907, 5ft. 2 or 3in., slim build, h. dk., clean shaven ; dress, dk. suit, cap, boots and believed overcoat.— 2nd, b. 1907 to 1908, 5ft, 2 or 3in., slim build, clean shaven, ugly features ; dress, dirty grey suit ( worn), black boots. SOMERSETSHIRE. 22.— Bath ( City).— 7th inst., by shoplifting.— Baum marten fur necklet, shaded greyish brown, with 2 tails, 1 head and ( 5 feet, tab on lining marked Jolly & Sons, Bath.— Suspicion is attached to A Woman who gave name of Mrs. J. Carey, Rockfield Park. Monmouth ( false), b. 1892, 5ft. 4 to Gin., stout build, c. sallow, h. dk. ( bobbed) ; dress, close fitting brick brown straw hat, navy blue coat, with black fur collar and cuffs, pink jumper, black shoes ; carried handbag. Called at the showroom, where she was shown various articles, one of which she selected. She then enquired if the firm would accept a cheque, but did not produce one. Whilst the assistant left the showroom to enquire, this woman left the shop, and soon after the stolen property was missed. She has been co- habiting with Thomas Carey, at the Ferry Hotel. Symons Yat, Herefordshire. He is described as b. 1891, 5ft. 10 or 11 in., medium build, good teeth ; dress, grey suit and grey cap ( rather worn). They are believed to be in posses- sion of motor car, index No. XO- 3688, and are stated to have left Symonds Yat on 9th inst. for Cheltenham or Gloucester. Appears identical with Elsie Doreen Carter who is believed to be known to the Police at Bournemouth and Taunton. Inf. to the C. C., Bath. MOTOR CARS AND MOTOR CYCLES.
