CONFIDENTIAL Supplement B THE POLICE GAZETTE No. 19. FRIDAY, MAY 13, 1927. VOL. XIV. Convicts on Licence, Persons under Police Supervision and others whose apprehensions are sought for failing to comply with the requirements of the Prevention of Crimes Act. Those bearing names marked * are Licence Holders and should produce their licences. The first condition of a licence is that the Holder shall preserve it and produce it when called upon by a Magistrate or Police Officer ; but it should be distinctly understood that a Licence Holder is not required to carry his licence upon him. Before preferring a charge of failing to produce a licence it should be ascertained what the defaulter has to say vide Sec. 5, Sub- Sec. 1, 27 & 28 Vict., Cap. 47, which requires a Licence Holder to produce his licence or shoto some reasonable excuse why he does not produce the same. N. B.— When a circulation is cancelled, the printed matter relating to the person in question might be ruled through in red ink, without defacing the portrait. Licence Holders and Supervisees. Sentenced at Monmouth Sess., 17- 10- 23, to 3 yrs. pen. for shopbreaking and assault. Subse- quently sentenced at Somerset Sess., 14- 4- 26, to 6 mos. impt. for larceny. Liberated on second licence ( which expires 12- 6- 27), 7- 4- 27, to Peter- borough . Failed to make his monthly report, 7- 5- 27. Pre. con. of cyclestealing, false pretences, larceny, forgery and minor offences. Known to Police at WELLINGTON TAUNTON, RUGBY, PONTYPRIDD, CAR- DIFF, HEREFORD and NEWPORT ( Mon.). No. 3812- 18, b. 1897, 5ft. 7£ in., c. sallow, h. black, e. hazel, nose broken, scar 1. temple and 1. hand, anchor, clasped hands, flowers and Alice 1. fore- May be dealt with where found if there is evidence of an offence against the Prevention of Crimes Act in such place. 2 POLICE GAZETTE SUPPLEMENT B. No. 2940- 01, b. 1860, 5ft. 4jin., c. fresh, h. grey ( bald on top), e. grey ( blind rt.), scars forehead and 1. forearm. A labourer ; native of Leeds. Sentenced at Leeds ( W. R.) Sess., 2- 7- 23, to 5 yrs. pen. for larceny. Liberated on licence, 25- 3- 27, to Mansfield. Failed to report 4- 5- 27. Pre. con. of larceny, cyclestealing, burglary and minor offences. Known to police at PONTEFRACT. BARNS- LEY, KNARESBOROUGH. WETHERBY, YORK, WHITBY, SHERBURN, LEEDS, DONCASTER, WATH, BEDALE, LEVEN, SELBY, GOOLE, RETFORD OTLEY WORKSOP, CASTLEFORD, ROTHERHAM, SCARBOROUGH, BRADFORD, WAKEFIELD. COLNE, NORTON, ESCRICK. POCKLINGTON and BLACKBURN. For portrait, etc., see Case No. 310 ( Vol. I.). Warrant issued.
