James,'!' in dock, 21st inst.. gent's navy blue meckintosh. lined rubber. 2 pockets and belt, nearly new;' blue cloth jacket, small red pin stripe : pair blue cloth trousers, do. : 3 white flannelette shirts, various coloured stripes : pair gent's brown stockings ; gent's red and brown pullover : clothes brush, with handle : electric torch ( bright metal).— A man who gave name of C. Clarke, b. 1894, lift., slim build, h. fair, clean shaven, prominent teeth, finger nails turned black, talkative : dress, blue or dk. grey trousers, blue coat, grey cap. boots. Native of Dublin. Joined the, vessel, as one of crew at , Falmouth al^ nft- jO days ago, and ai; nvi'< l at Runcorn 19th. inst. Left by train for Liverpool,. afternoon of 21st inst., , >> Inf. to Supt. Hayward, Runcorn. Essex. 62; Grays ( Co.). For stealing tl note, 18- 1- 26, at Little Thurrock.- Norman Williams, b. 1905, about 5ft. Oin., medium build, London accent ; dress, dk. clothes and cap. Appearance of hawker. Called at houses with his brother, Harry Cyril Williams, C. R. O. No. 17237- 17, Case No. 4 current issue, offering carbolic in cans for sale. Was entrusted with tl note to get change, and absconded. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Phillibrown, Grays. 63. Saffron Walden ( Co.). For stealing lady's handbag, containing purse and Is. .' id. ( recovered), 20th inst.— Three Men : 1st, l>. 1877 to 1887, about 5ft. 9in., well built, believed clean shaven : dress, brown suit. Trilby bat. 2nd, b. IS77 to 1887, about 5ft. 11 in.. stout build ; dress ( believed), grey suit and cap. 3rd. b. ISX7 to 1897. about 5ft. 9in., slimmer build than others ; believed dressed in brown suit anil Trilby hat. These men were in possession of a Buick 2- seater motor car, with dickey seat at back, black hood, painted marone colour, bearing Registration No. CD- 9518 ( this number is found to be allocated to a U. S. A. motor cycle). About two hours after the occurrence three men and a car of the same description, but bearing Registration No. XI' 1059 was seen at Whittlesford, Caiubs.. which is about 10 miles away from where the crime was committed. Inf. to Supt. Hyde, Saffron Walden, KENT. 64. - Canterbury ( Co.).— For stealing ( servant), at Herne Bay, pink evening dress ; mauve do. : white do. ; 2 green dresses : red braid do. ; navy blue jumper suit : fawn do. ; 2 lady's costumes ( 1 steel grey colour, I fawn colour) ; 4 pairs lady's shoes ; crepd- de- ehine under slip ; set of under- clothing ; lady's green hat ; 3 pairs stockings ; imitation moleskin coat : navy blue dress : sable fur; 2 lady's dresses ( I brick colour, 1 red): woollen jacket : 4 pairs boy's socks with vellow- tops ; 10s. note ; fibre suit- case - Louisa Hardman, b. 1887 to 1892, 5ft. 6 or 7in., c. sallow, h. ( shingled) brown, e. blue, false teeth ( 1 missing upper ja\ j) : dress, grey costume, close fitting mauve hat, patent shoes ( brown straps). Believed native of London. Was . employed by loser as cook, 4th Inst., and Absconded'oil' 10th inst. with the above articles. Was obtained from the Labour Exchange at Walworth ( L.). Identical with Woman, Case No. 11,19- 4- 27. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Ford, Canterbury. LANC \ SHIRE. •).">. Blackburn ( Boro.).- For obtaining food and lodgings by false pretences, between 9th and 11th inst. Fred Roberts, C. R. O. No. 08- 17, Case No. 5, Supplement A ( Vol. VI.), b. 1888, 5ft. 4in., c. fair, h. It. brown, e. grey, scar chin, 1. eyebrow, 1. leg been injured : dress, blue suit, dk. overcoat, dk. grey Trilby hat, collar, tie, brown boots. An engineer ; native of Peterborough. Pre. con. of larcenv, fraud, cyclestealing, attempted fraud and a minor offence at PETERBOROUGH, RAMS- GATE, ACCRINGTON, BILSTON, NORTH- AMPTON, GLOUCESTER ( James Frederick Titmass), BURTON- ON- TRENT, HULL ( John Frederick Roberts), ASH BY- DE- LA- ZOUCHE ( James Titmass), SOWERBY ( James Frederick Titmus), LIVERPOOL ( James Frederick Boycc) and on T. Called on loser. 9th said he had come from London to work at local United Service Club and opened office in town ( false). Absconded I 1th inst. Warrant issued. Inf. to C. C., Blackburn. 66. Salford ( City).- For obtaining by false pretences, 11th inst.. gent's dk. brown suit with diagonal black stripe, rough tweed, single breasted jacket, vent rt't back, usual pockets, fit man THE POLICE GAZETTE. Called at clothier'* shop, oht. uned the suit and tendered cheque, No. 123 over 47316, on Union Bank of Manchester, Stoneclough and Kearsley Branch, made out for t2 and si'i > ed Thomas Mills. Inf. to Supt. Johnston, Ulverston. LINCOLNSHIRE. 68.— Boston ( Co.).— For bastardy arrears amounting to £ 13 12s. tkl.— George Hitching, b. 1895), 5ft. 10 or 1 lin.. thin build, e. pale, h. It. brown, clean shaven, sickly looking. I. hand crippled, stiff knee joint and limps. Norfolk accent ; dress, usually Trilby or bowler hat. A lorry or steam wagon driver, and last heard of in Buckinghamshire. Warrant issued Inf. to Supt. Hutchinson. Boston. YORKSHIRE ( WEST RIDING). 69. Doncaster ( Boro.).-- For stealing ( lodgings), between 16th and 19th inst., £ 20.- Albert Brandwood, b. I! K) 3, 5ft. 4in., medium build, c. sallow, h. It. brown, e. grey, clean " shaven'.
