JMflK CJAifL.^ The following persons who have already appeared in Supplement A have been re- convicted as follows— / Albert Tivendale, Cases Nos. 299 ( Vol. II.), and 373 ( Vol. XIII.), was, at Chichester Pol. Ct,, 25- 2- 1927, fined £ 20 and £ 2 costs for obtaining a situation by false character. A similar case in the M. P. D. was taken into consideration when sentence was passed. y John Cronin, Cases Nos. 369 ( Vol. II.), and 408 ( Vol. XIII.), was sentenced as George Clues at Aldershot P. Sess., 7- 3- 1927, to 3 mos. impt. for being found on enclosed premises. t/ 91. Thomas Pringle, Case No. 148 ( Vol. III.), was sentenced as Arthur Cole at Surrey Ass., 28- 2- 1927, to 5 yrs. pen. for burglary. He effected entry to a villa by boring a hole in frame of window, inserting wire and releasing the catch. Was in possession of a brace and bit, etc. Cases of housebreaking at St. Albans, Bishops Stortford and Hertford were taken into consideration when sentence was passed. V 92. George Franklin, Case No. 188 ( Vol. III.), was sentenced as Edward Duncan, at C. C. C., 9- 3- 1927, to 12 mos. impt. for housebreaking and larceny. Broke glass panel in front door, pulled back the catch, and stole jewellery from bedroom. t/ Louis Stanislaus, Case No. 221 ( Vol. IV.), was sentenced at C. L. S., 8- 3- 1927, to 9 mos. impt. for being an incorrigible rogue— loitering at railway station. John Walter Huddleston McDouall, Case No. 347 ( Vol. IV.), was sentenced as John McDouall at Bow St. Pol. Ct. ( L.), 3- 3- 1927, to 4 mos. impt. for obtaining money by false pretences. Method as in original case. * /' 93. Ernest Rawlings, Case No. 66 ( Vol. V.), was sentenced at Birmingham Pol. Ct., 1- 3- 1927, to 6 and 6 mos. impt. ( cons.) for false pretences ( 2 cases). Obtained food and lodgings by stating he had been appointed cashier at a local bank. Thirteen other cases at Manchester, Nottingham, Liverpool. Leeds, Huddersfield and on Z were taken into consideration when sentence was passed. In one of these he posed as a supervisor on the G. P. O. Engineering Staff and obtained lodgings, and in another whilst employed as porter at a hotel was entrusted with a cheque to cash at a bank, received the money and absconded. Albert Edward Meadows, Case No. 325 ( Vol. V.), was sentenced at Warwick Ass., 8- 3- 1927. to 12 mos. impt, for stealing a bicycle from the street. / Joseph Ellis, Case No. 224 ( Vol. VI.), was sentenced at Birmingham Pol. Ct., 1- 3- 1927, to 3 mos. impt. for loitering with intent. ^ George Malyon, Case No. 351 ( Vol. VI.), was, at Marylebone Pol. Ct. ( L.), 12- 3- 1927, bouii^ over own recognizances £ 5 for 12 mos. for using insulting words and behaviour. » J 94. George Jordan, Case No. 473 ( Vol. VI.), was sentenced as John Myers at Rhyl P. Sess., 28- 2- 1927, to I mo. impt. for malicious damage to platelayers' cabins on the railway. John WTilson Williams, C. R. O No. 15- 1905, was convicted with him. a 95. ^ Charles Groom, Case No. 67 ( Vol. IX.), was sentenced at Middlesex Sess., 5- 3- 1927, to 4 yrs. pen. for burglary ( 2 cases) and housebreaking. Effected entrance to dwelling houses during the night through insecurely fastened windows at rear. Also effected entrance during the daytime by forcing cellar flap and stole jewellery and cash. 96. Jane Bennett, Case No. 367 ( Vol. IX.), was sentenced as Sarah James at Durham P. Sess., 2- 3- 1927, to 6 mos. impt. for false pretences ( 2 cases). Method as in original case. A similar case at Preston was taken into consideration when sentence was passed. Florence Smith, Case No. 311 ( Vol. X ), was convicted with her. t/ john Preston, Case No. 368 ( Vol. IX.), was sentenced at Birmingham Pol. Ct., 9- 3- 1927, to 3 mos. impt. for loitering with intent. (/ ftdward Henry Jones, Case No. 197 ( Vol. X.), was sentenced at Marlborough Street Pol. Ct' ( L.), 3- 3- 1927, to 6 mos. impt. for stealing a rug from a motor car left unattended in the street- Albert Crowder, C. R. O. No. 2369- 1901, was convicted with him. Florence Smith, Case No. 311 ( Vol. X.), was sentenced as Florence Clark at Durham P. Sess., 2- 3- 1927, to 6 mos. impt. for false pretences ( 2 cases). Method as in original case. A similar case at Preston was taken into consideration when sentence was passed. Jane Bennett, Case No. 367 ( Vol. IX.), was convicted with her. l/ Frank Howarth, Case No. 412 ( Vol. X.), was, at Bolton ( Boro.) Pol. Ct., 8- 3- 1927, bound over in sum of £ 15 to come up for judgment if called upon, for being found on enclosed premises for an unlawful purpose. 97. fedwin Boothby, Case No. 333 ( Vol. XI.), was sentenced as Edwin Booth at Tullow ( District) Sess., 25- 2- 1927, to 6 mos. impt. for obtaining food and lodgings by false pretences. 98. ^ Arthur Leonard Player, Case No. 366 ( Vol. XI.), was sentenced at Birmingham Pol. Ct., 1- 3- 1927, to 1 mo. impt. for stealing a door key, knives, etc. Took furnished apartments and after staying a time left with the property. 99. Evelyn Margaret Robinson, Case No. 467 ( Vol. XI.), was sentenced as Evelyn Robinson at Marl- borough St. Pol. Ct. ( L.), 7- 3- 1927, to 3 mos. impt. for being a suspected person— endeavoured to open ladies' handbags at omnibus stopping places. Was liberated from previous sentence 12- 1- 19^. John Edward Jones, Case No. 267 ( Vol. XII.), was sentenced at Liverpool ( City) Pol. Ct., 1- 3- 1927, to 3 mos. impt. for loitering with intent. Was found in possession of a jemmy at rear of dwelling house. 100. Harry George Russell, Case No. 34 ( Vol. XIV.), was sentenced at Consett Pol. Ct., 14- 2- 1927, to 6 mos. impt. for stealing money. Called at a shop, where he posed as a police officer, asked for change in silver of £ 1 note ; was given the change but failed to produce the note. LATEST INFORMATION. Thomas Fletcher, Case No. 128 ( Vol. III.), was liberated on expiration of sentence, 18- 3- 1927, into the M. P. D. Edward Mason, Case No. 352 ( Vol. IV.), was liberated, 8- 3- 1927, into the M. P. D. John Turner, Case No. 22 ( Vol. V.), was liberated, 7- 3- 1927, into the M. P. D. Intended address : 3, Chaucer Road, Forest Gate. Archibald Eyles, Case No. 114 ( Vol. V.), was liberated, 12- 3- 1927, into the M. P. D. John Clayton, Case No. 347 ( Vol. V.), was liberated, 5- 3- 1927, to Shrewsbury. George Henn, Case No. 379 ( Vol. XII.), was liberated, 1- 3- 1927, to Birmingham. ^ Alice Brown, Case No. 89 ( Vol. XIII.), was liberated, 15- 3- 1927, into the M. P. D. NOTE.— In the event of information being received of the DEATH of any criminal whose particulars have appeared in POLICE GAZETTE SUPPLEMENT A, the fact should be notified to C. R. O. As the latest information or subsequent conviction of criminals, whose particulars have been inserted in Supplement A, will appear in each issue at the end of the cases, the original numbers should be cross- referenced on the printed lines provided for that purpose. SPECIAL NOTICE. When any person whose portrait and description have appeared in Supplement A is again arrested for any offence, and on account of being locally known the finger prints are not sent to C. R. O. for the purpose of search, it is requested that particulars of such conviction be sent to Criminal Record Office as soon as possible in order that they may appear in an early issue of Supplement A for the information of all forces.
