See Case No. 230 ( Vol. III.). {/ The following persons who have already appeared in Supplement A have been re- convicted as follows— William Ralph Osborne, Case No. 24 ( Vol. II.), was sentenced at St. Albans Sess., 3- 1- 1927, to 6 and 6 mos. impt. ( conc.) for housebreaking ( 2 cases). Method as in ( i) original case. Edward Cook, Case No. 115 ( Vol. II.), was sentenced as Edward Jennings at Lambeth Pol. Ct. ( L.), 13- 1- 1927, to 3 mos. impt for being a suspected person— loitering. 18. George Warren, Cases Nos. 200 ( Vol. II.) and 314 ( Vol. XIII.), was sentenced at West Kent Sess., 6- 1- 1927, to 18 and 18 mos. impt. ( conc.) for obtaining credit by fraud and false pretences— worthless cheque. Method as in original case. Used the name of H. S. Sims. Six other cases of a similar nature were taken into consideration when sentence was passed. 19. Arthur James, Case No. 26 ( Vol. III.), was sentenced as James Marney at Dorset Sess., 5- 1- 1927, to 12 mos. impt. for housebreaking and larceny. Effected entrance by removing thumb screws of shutters and smashing the window. When arrested, violently assaulted the occupier. One other case of larceny was taken into consideration when sentence was passed. 20. Horace Gardner, Case No. 28 ( Vol. III.), was sentenced as Alfred Montague Wyatt Braye at East Sussex Sess., 4- 1- 1927, to 5yrs. pen. for obtaining money and lodgings by false pretences ( 2 cases). Method as in original case. Three cases of a similar nature at Swindon, also a case at Wigan of supplying false information to a lodging house keeper in the name of Alfred Swain were taken into consideration when sentence was passed. James Hyde, Case No. 64 ( Vol. III.), was sentenced as James Withington Hyde at Leigh ( Boro.) Pol. Ct., 13- 1- 1927, to 3, 3 and 3 mos. impt. ( cons.) for obtaining monej' by false pretences ( 3 cases). Method as in original case. Thirty- one similar cases were taken into consideration when sentence was passed. / II 21. Frederick Henry Simpson Paget, Case No. 324 ( Vol. III.), was sentenced as Captain Ernest Edwards, at Surrey Sess., 28- 12- 1926, to 9 mos. impt. for obtaining money by false pretences. Method as in original case. v iHi William Percy Brooks, Case No. 362 ( Vol. III.), was sentenced as Harry Parsons at Bournemouth Sess., 3- 1- 1927, to 3yrs. pen. for housebreaking and larceny ( 3 cases). During the evening effected entrance to rear of premises and stole money, jewellery, etc. Eight other cases of larceny were taken into consideration when sentence was passed. 23. Thomas Moody, Case No. 416 ( Vol. IV.), was sentenced as Joseph Brannon at East Riding Sess., 4- 1- 1927, to 7yrs. pen. for burglary and larceny. Effected entrance to a bungalow by forcing the door with a chisel and while a confederate held the occupier down ransacked the rooms and stole money, jewellery, etc. Robert John Huby, C. R. O. No. 991- 1927, was convicted with him. 24. William John Green, Case No. 153 ( Vol. V.), was sentenced as William Brown at C. C. C., 13- 1- 1927, to 15 mos. impt. for housebreaking. Forced front door of dwelling house by bodily pressure. Alexander Andrews, C. R. O. No. 3630- 1899, was convicted with him. George Roberts, Case No. 229 ( Vol. V.), was sentenced as John Carr at Mansfield ( Boro.) P. Sess., 5- 1- 1927, to I mo. impt. for failing to report. l/ I I 1 25. Thomas Mitchell, Case No. 289 ( Vol. V.), was sentenced as Joseph Doherty at Londonderry Ass., 1- 12- 1926, to 18 mos. impt. for larceny— person. Cyril Vernon Trott, Case No. 71 ( Vol. VII.), was as Charles Courtney at West London Pol. Ct., 30- 12- 1926, bound over own recognizances £ 20 for 12 mos., for stealing a gramophone and records. Entered front door of dwelling house and stole the property from the hall. 99 Thomas Williams, Case No. 126 ( Vol. VII.), was sentenced at Birmingham Pol. Ct., 7- 1- 1927, to 3 mos. impt. for loitering with intent. George Shotton, Case No. 137 ( Vol. VIII.), was sentenced at South Shields Pol. Ct.; 1- 1- 1927, to 3 mos. impt. for loitering with intent. / George Kent, Case No. 251 ( Vol. VIII.), was sentenced at C. L. S., 11- 1- 1927, to 11 mos. impt. for being an incorrigible rogue. Was seen opening the doors of unattended motor cars in the street. Nathaniel Hardy, C. R. O. No. 4453- 1919, was concerned with him. l'Reginald James Hughes, Case No. 347 ( Vol. VIII.), was sentenced at Mansion House Pol. Ct. ( L.), 14- 1- 1927, to 1 mo. impt. for being a rogue in street. / 26. William Stacey, Case No. 42 ( Vol. IX.), was sentenced as Herbert Lavender at C. L. S., 12- 1- 1927, to 3 yrs. pen. and 5 yrs. p. d. for burglary, larceny, shopbreaking, possessing housebreaking implements by night and being a h. c. ( 4 cases). Method as in original case, except in the case of shopbreaking, in which he effected entrance by forcing scullery window at rear of premises. / 27. James Besant, Case No. 366 ( Vol. IX.), was sentenced as James Hughes at Warwick Sess., 4- 1- 1927, to 6 mos. impt. for attempted housebreaking. Attempted to force front door with a jemmy. l/ 28. Harry Haslam, Case No. 90 ( Vol. X.), was sentenced as Peter Holden at Wells ( Citv) Pol. Ct., 11- 1- 1927, to 3 mos. impt. for attempting to steal money from a till. i/ 29. Edith Cosslett, Case No. 351 ( Vol. XI.), was sentenced at Wonford P. Sess., 21- 12- 1926, to 6 mos. impt. for larceny— servant. Whilst employed as cook was entrusted with money to pay tradesmen's accounts, failed to do so and absconded. 30. Alice Brown, Case No. 89 ( Vol. XIII.), was sentenced as Margaret Maud Mullen at West London Pol. Ct., 30- 12- 1926, to 3 mos. impt. for larceny— shoplifting. Stole articles from the counter of large store. ^ Arthur Benjamin Cecil Carter, Case No. 329 ( Vol. XIII.), was sentenced as Arthur Benjamin Cecil Carver at East Kent Sess., 4- 1- 1927, to 6, 6 and 6 mos. impt. ( cons.) for larceny— bailee ( 3 cases). Method as in original case. y 31. Arthur Phillips, Case No. 359 ( Vol. XIII.), was sentenced at Bow Street Pol. Ct. ( L.), 14- 1- 1927, to 3 m^ s. impt. for stealing an overcoat from a restaurant. Ernest Mackinson, Case No. 391 ( Vol. XIII.), was sentenced at C. L. S., 11- 1- 1927, to 9 mos. impt. under the Prevention of Crimes Act for being a suspected person— loitering. Was seen tampering with garage doors. Archibald Stanley Jackson, C. R. O. As the latest information or subsequent conviction of criminals, whose particulars have been inserted in Supplement A, will appear in each issue at the end of the cases, the original numbers should be cross- referenced on the printed lines provided for that purpose. SPECIAL NOTICE. When any person whose portrait and description have appeared in Supplement A is again arrested for any offence, and on account of being locally known the finger prints are not sent to C. R. O. for the purpose of search, it is requested that particulars of such conviction be sent to Criminal Record Office as soon as possible in order that they may appear in an early issue of Supplement A for the information of all forces.
