Smart appearance. Obtained above sum from loser, on the pretext of getting special marriage licence. Frequents dance halls. Known at Sheffield. Warrant issued. Inf. to C. R. O. 2.— N Division.— Adverting to Case No. 3, 29- 1- 26. George Mclnnes. Amended inf. Should read N Division, and not as previously shewn. Inf. to C. R. O. BEDFORDSHIRE. 3.— Bedford ( Boro.).— For obtaining quantity of slates by false pretences, 18th ult.— W. Marchas, alias Jones, b. 1891, 5ft. 2in., Scottish accent ; dress, dk. suit, wore gold coloured watch chain. Telephoned a firm of builders' merchants, falsely represented that he was engaged on a local job, for a builder in a neighbouring town, and ordered a quantity of slates. The slates were sent, and he told the carman to take them to a small builder's yard in the next street. It was later found that he had sold the slates, saying they were left over. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Bedford. DEVONSHIRE. 4.— Torquay ( Co.).— For embezzlement, 28th ult.— John Kimberley, b. 1903, 5ft. 6 or 7in., well built, c. very pale, h. and e. brown, clean shaven, 2 front teeth stopped with silver, stoops, flat- footed ; dress, fawn rainproof, dk. grey suit, It. Trilby hat with black band, soft collar, tie, blue socks, shoes. Was employed as milk rounds- man, collected several amounts, and absconded 28th ult. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Eddy, Torquay. HERTFORDSHIRE . 5.— Watford ( Co.).— Jack Poulter, Case No. 132, 27- 1- 26, is identical with Jack Poulter, C. R. O. No. 6110- 24, b. 1903, 5ft. 7in., c. fresh, h. auburn, e. grey. Pre. con. of larceny and a minor offence at WATFORD. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Maskell, Watford. WARWICKSHIRE. 6.— Leamington ( Boro.).— For stealing ( lodgings), 26th or 27th ult., silver Waltham lever watch ; new shirt, mauve stripes ; pawnticket for gold watch chain with £ 2 piece attached, pawned in Coventry.— A Man, b. about, 1901, 5ft. 3 or 4| in., c. red, e. blue, clean shaven, horsey appearance ; dress, brown striped suit, buif cap, tight fitting brown woollen pull- over. PERSONS OR BODIES FOUND. HAMPSHIRE. 44 — Aldershot ( Co.).— 28th inst., in the Basingstoke Canal, at Cox moor.— The body of a Female Child, aged about 9 months, well developed; dress, white chemise, 2 woollen vests, grey vest, white woollen jacket ( or coat), white petticoat, lined white jacket, white woollen socks, white napkin of Turkish towelling. The body, which is much decomposed, has been examined by a surgeon, who has formed the opinion that it has been in the water at least one month, probably three. He can discern no signs of violence.
