Telephoned a firm, asked that a quantih of cigars be sent to his office by messenger. A dummy parcel was dispatched and he was arrested 31. George Stanley Vince, Case No. 6 ( Vol. II.), was sentenced as Edward Rogers at Bucks Ass 131 1926, to 3 vrs. pen. for obtaining money, food and lodgings by false pretences. Method as in Cas No. 46 ( Vol. XII.). Four other cases of a similar nature were taken into consideration whensentens was passed. y Cicero Knowles, Case No. 53 ( Vol. II.), was sentenced at Essex Q. Sess., 7- 1- 1926, to6K impt. for false pretences ( 2 cases). Method as in original case. 32. Wilfred Fentiman, Case No. 187 ( Vol. II.), was sentenced as Harold Ray Milner at Boston Sea, s 4- 1- 1926, to 3 yrs. pen. for fraud ( 6 cases). Method as in Case No. 17 ( Vol. V.). William Ray, Case No. 155 ( Vol. III.), was sentenced at St. Albans Sess., 5- 1- 1926, to3mot impt. for possessing housebreaking implements by night. / Fred Garside, Case No. 163 ( Vol. III.), was sentenced at Huddersfield Sess., 4- 1- 1926, to 12 mos. impt. for obtaining money by false pretences ; and at Leeds Sess., 12- 1- 1926, to3mo- impt. ( conc. with above), for false pretences. Method as in original case. Henry Dennison, Case No. 170 ( Vol. III.), was re- tried and sentenced as Henry Williams at Surrey Sess., 6- 1- 1926, to 3£ yrs. pen. for burglary— forced the front door of dwelling house withi jemmy. The particulars as shown in Case No. 428 ( Vol. XII.) are hereby amended. 33. Thomas Parker, Case No. 218 ( Vol. III.), was sentenced us John Hollinrake at Leeds P. Ses. 15- 1- 1926, to 3 mos. impt. for obtaining money by false pretences. Method as in original case. i/ George Stanley Wilson, Case No. 63 ( Vol. IV.), was sentenced at Manchester Sess., 14- 12- 1& to 5 yrs. pen. for false pretences and cyclestealing ( 3 cases). John Green, Case No. 216 ( Vol. IV.), was sentenced as James Jamieson at Durham Sess., 4- 1- J to 5 yrs. pen. for false pretences ( 3 cases), and larceny— trick. Reginald Easterbrook, Case No. 224 ( Vol. IV.), was sentenced at Bucks Sess., 4- 1- 1926, to^ pen. for obtaining food and money by false pretences. Method as in original case. C., 1.3- 1 - 1926, bound over in £ 5 and one surety of £ 5 for 2 yrs. for stealing a note- case and contents from person. * William Monro, Case No. 427 ( Vol. VI.), was sentenced as Robert Monro at Salisbury P Sess / 30.11.1925, to 2 mos. impt. for failing to report, and as Robert Monro at bahsbury ess 8- 1- 19.0, to 6 mos. impt. and 3 yrs pen. ( cons.) for ( i) attempting to obtain money by false pretences, and ( u) obtaining money by false pretences, ( i) Answered advertisements and represented hhad artmes lor sale similar to the wants of the advertiser and would send same on approval on receipt of cash, ( ii) Method as in ( i) original case. " Thomas Trevor Williams, Case No. 483 ( Vol. VI.), as Trevor Williams, at Bristol P. Sess., ^- 1- 1926, had his licence forfeited for failing to notify change of address. S William Grainger, Case No. 501 ( Vol. VI.), was sentenced as George Harris at Maidstone 9- 1- 1926, to 3 yrs. pen. for shopbreaking and stealing jewellery. No. S/ 124827 William ^ ward Gray, C. R. O. No. 19685- 1916, and Michael O'Loughlin, C. R. O. No. 16981- 1919, were Evicted with him. 4( 1 Albert Sands, Case No 180 ( Vol. VII.), was sentenced as George Lane at Wilts Sess., 5- 1- 1926, " to 3 yrs. pen., for obtaining money by false pretences ( 4 cases). Palmer, C. Baker, Charlie Walter Lea, G. Bentley, F. G. Wyatt and Percy Dawson. 4L Alfred Nunn, Case No. 372 ( Vol. VII.), was sentenced as Alfred E. Nunn at Jarrow P. Sess < 1926, to 6 mos. impt. for obtaining money by false pretences. Method as in ( i) original case. 42. George William Densham, Case No. 202 ( Vol. VIII.), was sentenced as Frederick Clydon Strata at C. L. S., 7- 1- 1926, to 3 yrs. pen. for ( 1) obtaining credit by fraud, ( 2) obtaining money by fa]! pretences ( 2 cases), ( 3) causing payments to be made for and on his behalf by false pretences ( 4cases! Method as in Case No. 37 ( Vol. IX.) and in Case No. 77 ( Vol. XI.). Ernest Holton, Case No. 270 ( Vol. VIII.), was sentenced as Henry MacDonald at North ampton Sess., 1- 1- 1926, to 9 mos. impt. for shopbreaking. Method as in original case. / Herbert Jenkins, Case No. 375 ( Vol. VIII.), was sentenced at C. C. C., 14- 1- 1926, to 3 yrs. pen. and 6 yrs. p. d. for wilfully setting fire to a stack and being a h. c. 43. Alfred Cooling, Case No. 369 ( Vol. IX.), was, at Old Street Pol. Ct. ( L), 6- 1- 1926, bound over ^ in own recognizances in £ 10 for 2 yrs. for larceny and possessing firearms without a certificate. Stole property from bedroom during absence of occupier and when arrested was found in possession of a revolver. / William Jarvis, Case No. 428 ( Vol. IX.), was, at Exeter Sess., 6- 1- 1926, bound over in f5for 6 mos. for housebreaking. Method as in original case. y William Lynch, Case No. 482 ( Vol. IX), was sentenced at Usk Sess., 6- 1- 1926, to 3 yrs. pen, for shopbreaking. \ 44. Walter Henry Fuller, Case No. 107 ( Vol. X.), was sentenced as Ralph Clifford Thornton at South ampton Sess., 9- 1- 1926, to 18 mos. impt. for garagebreaking and larceny. Booked a room at a hotel and under the pretence of being the night porter secured possession of a key with which lie gained access to the garage and stole a motor car and camera. 45. Herbert George Burford, Case No. 268 ( Vol. X.). was sentenced as Herbert George Jennings at ^ Colchester Sess., 11- 1- 1926, to 6 mos. impt, for obtaining food by false pretences. Method as in ( ii) original case. 46. Paul Mellor, Case No. 359 ( Vol. X.), was sentenced as Edward Willington at Pola Pol. Ct„ 30- 8- 1924, / to 2 yrs. and 1 mo. impt. for fraud— worthless cheque, and at Vevey Pol. Ct., Switzerland, 30- 10- 1925, to 10 mos. impt. for fraud— worthless cheque. 47 Edward Large, Case No. 349 ( Vol. XI.), was sentenced as George Harvey at Essex Sess., 6- 1- 1926, to 3 yrs. pen. for housebreaking. Gained access to a farm house by slipping the catch of front window with a knife. One other case of hutbreaking was taken into consideration when sentenced was passed. ^ William Henry Johnson, Case No. 414 ( Vol. XI.), was sentenced at Holt P. Sess., 8- 1* to 3 mos. impt. for stealing a watch. Method as in ( i) original case. 4^ Dorothy Mason, Case No. 178 ( Vol. XII.), was sentenced as Dorothy Fury at Reading Sess., 7- 1- 192. ^ to 18 mos. impt. for stealing jewellery and clothing, larceny— servant. Method as in original ca. Edward Fury, C. R. O. No. 952- 1926 ( husband) was convicted with her. Two other cases of a sunn nature in the M. P. SPECIAL NOTICE. When any person whose portrait and description have appeared in Supplement A is again arrested for any offence, and on account of being locally known the finger prints are not sent to C. R. O. for the purpose of search, it is requested that particulars of such conviction be sent to Criminal Record Office as soon as possible in order that they may appear in an early issue of Supplement A for the information of all forces.
