S., 15- 12- 1925, to 18 mos impt. conc. with sentence shown in issue of 4- 12- 1925, for shopbreaking ( forfeiting recognizances). Frederick John Arthur, Case No. 38 ( Vol. III.), was sentenced as George Evans, at Bow St Pol. a. ( L.), 23- 11- 1925, to 10 mos. impt. under the Prevention of Crimes Act^- found at the rear ot shops. Frederick Beddell, C. R. O. No. 7505- 1920, was convicted with him. , Charles McDonald, Case No. 142 ( Vol. IV.), was sentenced as Harry Ford at C. C. C., 8- 12- 1925, to 3| yrs. pen. for burglary, forgery and larceny ( 2 cases). ( 1) Gained access to a dwellinghouse during the night by opening front door with a key and stole a letter containing a cheque book ; ( 2) forged the name of a person to a letter and endeavoured to obtain a sum of money from a bank ; ( 3) secured lodgings and stole articles. Seven cases of larceny, forgery and fraud at PERTH and in the M. P. D. were taken into consideration when sentence was passed. John Whiteley, Case No. 263 ( Vol. IV.), was sentenced at Leeds Ass., 24- 11- 1925, to 12 mos. impt. for embezzlement and uttering a forged document. ( 1) Whilst organising branches on behalf of a college for beauty culture and hairdressing he collected various sums of money from students and failed to account for same ; ( 2) issued to a prospective customer a document purporting to have been signed by the manager of the firm. It was afterwards found to have been forged. One case of obtaining money by false pretences at SKERTON was taken into consideration when sentence was passed. ^ Clifton, Case No. 436 ( Vol. IV.), was sentenced as Frederick James Robinzen at Mark Cross ' Ct > ^- 12- 1925, to 6 and 3 mos. impt. ( cons.) for false pretences and larceny. Obtained lodgings stating he was a Post Office supervisor, and after staying a week stole clothing and absconded. | o ( George Williams, Case No. 55 ( Vol. V.), was sentenced as John Sharp at C. L. John Scott, Case No. 172 ( Vol. VI.), as Robert John Haire, was charged at Huddersfield jBoro. Pol, * Ct., 23- 11- 1925, and the case was adjourned sine- die, for attempting to obtain charitable1 contri- butions by fraud. William Collis, Case No. 2 ( Vol. VII.), was sentenced at C. C. C., 9- 12- 1925, to 12 mos. impt. for assault with intent to rob. Demanded money from a street bookmaker and when refused struck him with his fist. ^ Albert Carr, Case No. 24 ( Vol. VIII.), was sentenced as Daniel Jeffrey at Lewes Ass., 10- 12- 1925, to 5 yrs. pen. for burglary. Method as in original case. William George Wheale, Case No. 60 ( Vol. X.), was sentenced at Merthyr Tydfil P. Sess, 20- 10- 1925, to 3 mos. impt. for larceny. Stole whiskey from the bar of public- house during the temporary absence of the licensee. Frank Howarth, Case No. 412 ( Vol. X.), was sentenced as Frank Metcalfe at Liverpool Pol. Ct., 24- 11- 1925, to 2, 2 and 2 mos. impt. ( cons.) for larceny ( 3 cases). Method as in ( i) original case. ^ William Henry Priestley, Case No. 63 ( Vol. XII.) was sentenced at Lambeth Pol. Ct. ( L), 11- 12- 1925, to 2 mos. impt. and to find surety in £ 10 to be of good behaviour for 12 mos. or an addi- tional 2 mos. impt. for unlawful possession of motor lorry radiator parts. SPECIAL NOTICE. When any person whose portrait and description have appeared in Supplement A is again arrested for any offence, and on account of being locally known the finger prints are not sent to C^ R. O. for the purpose of search, it is requested that particulars of such conviction be sent to Criminal Record Office as soon as possible in order that they may appear in an earlv issue of Supplement A for the information of all forces.
