CONFIDENTIAL THE POLICE Supplement B GAZETTE No. 13. FRIDAY, MARCH ' 27, 1925. VOL. XII. Convicts on Licence, Persons under Police Supervision and others whose apprehensions are sought for failing to comply with the requirements of the Prevention of Crimes Act. Those bearing names marked * are Licence Holders and should produce their licences. The first condition of a licence is that the holder shall preserve it and produce it when called upon by a Magistrate or Police Officer ; but it should be distinctly understood that a Licence Holder is not required, to carry his licence upon him. Before preferring a charge of failing to produce a licence it should be ascertained what the defaulter has to say vide Sec. 5, Sub- Sec. 1, 7 & 21 Vict., Cap. 47, which requires a Licence Holder to produce his licence or show some reasonable excuse why he does not produce the same. N. B.— When a circulation is cancelled, the printed matter relating to the person in question might be ruled through in red ink, without defacing the portrait. Licence Holders and Supervisees. A cook ; native of Warwick. Sentenced at Worcester Sess., 16- 10- 22, to 3 yrs. pen. for larceny ( 2 cases). Liberated on " licence, 15- 1- 25, to Birmingham. Failed to report change of address 4- 3- 25. Pre. con. of larceny, wounding, embezzlement, false pretences and a minor offence. Known to police at BIRMINGHAM, BURTON, LICHFIELD, WARWICK, WOLVERHAMPTON, HANLEY, MIDDLEWICH, HEREFORD and BROMSGROVE. Inf. to the C. C., Birmingham. C. R. O. No. 1104- 03, b. 1880, 5ft. 6in., c. fresh, h. It. brown, e. blue ( lost rt.), large scar under rt. POLICE GAZETTE SUPPLEMENT B. Friday. March 27, 1925. Persons Licensed from a Borstal Institution. C. R. O. 69.— For failing to comply with the conditions of his licence, which has been revoked.— John Heath, alias John Arthur Heath. C. R. O. No. 20989- 24, b. 1905, 4ft. llin., c. fresh, h. It. brown, e. blue, scar upper lip. A shoemaker ; native of Tunbridge Wells. PRISON COMMISSION FOR SCOTI^ ND. EDINBURGH. 70.— For failing to comply with the conditions of his licence, which has been revoked.— James Higgins, C. R. O. No. 19208- 22, b. 1906. 4ft. 11 Jin., c. fresh, h. dk. brown, e. hazel. Sentenced at C. L. S., 5- 12- 22, to 3 yrs. detention in a B. I. for being a suspected person. Liberated on licence, 11- 3- 25, to the care of the B. A. On discharge he was found lodgings in the Camberwell district. He has left his work and lodgings and is now lost sight of. Pre. con. of larceny, cyclestealing and a minor offence. Known to police at OXTED and on Y. If arrested a telegram or telephonic message should be sent to C. R. O., when arrangements will be made for an escort to fetch him. The licence will expire 4- 12- 26, after which date he must not on any account be arrested by police on the Revocation Order. Sentenced at Haddington Sheriff Ct.. 3- 11- 22, to 3 yrs. detention in a B. I. for attempted house- breaking with intent to steal. Liberated on licence, 6- 10- 24, from Polmont Institution. Was liberated to work and guardianship at Lochore, Fifeshire. He enlisted in the Gordon Highlanders, 7- 1- 25, absconded from his regiment, 27- 2- 25, and cannot be now traced. Pre. con. of theft. Known to police at MUSSELBORG id HADDINGTON. Inf. to the Prison Commissioners for Scotland, Edinburgh.
