Called on loser who had lost a dog and advertised for it in Evening News and Our Dogs, offering £ 4 4s. reward, and said he could restore the dog if given £ 4 to purchase it from a dog fancier at Oxford. APPREHENSIONS SOUGHT— continued. ( Walter Twigg), COLCHESTER ( Walter Stephen Twigg), and on E, G, J, N and V. Called on loser, and asked him if he would become an agent for Extinguishers, Ltd., Craigs' Court House ( L.), which firm he stated he represented. Said he would send 3 extinguishers, together with 4 cartridge refills for each, and that there would be a charge of Is. on each cartridge, which would be refunded on return of the empties. S Stoke- on- Trent ( Bow ).— For embezzling £ 8, at Hanky. 1st September. 1924 — William Henry Boon, b. 18JH5, 5ft. 8 or 9in., c. fresh, h. brown, clean shaven, fleshy wart near 1. eye; dress, navy blue suit, brown melton overcoat, brown shoes, grey cap. Accompanied by his daughter, b. 1920 ; dress, fawn coat and hat, brown boots. Was employed as traveller and collector by local firm of tobacconists and embezzled the money. Warrant issued. SURREY. 9.— Dorking ( Co.).— For stealing at Ashtead, between 30- 1- 25 and 16th inst., Persian rug, about 13ft. by 9ft. 6in. ; oak reflecting dining table ; carved oak antique book- case, enclosed, carved doors at bottom and glazed at top ; 4 oak dining chairs, upholstered in brown leather; 2 arm chairs to match ; small stand, composed of rose- wood and mother- of- pearl; 3 eiderdown quilts, single size ; long oak table ; Indian coffee stand and tray, brass; small brass jug; portable gramophone, and 3 books of records ; 4 Turkish rugs, about 12ft. by 3ft. 6in. ; home made wireless set ; small oak bedroom table ; and believed a quantity of silver.— J. Obtained lodgings saying he was a building surveyor for local firm and received his wages end of each month. Produced document purporting to be an agreement signed by manager of local firm ( false).— Arthur Peebles,' b. 1898, 5ft. Bin., h. brown, e. blue, well educated, plausible ; dress, blue suit ( with red pin stripe), grey Trilby hat, soft collar, tie, brown shoes, smart appearance. Native of London. States he left London about 2 mos. ago and has stayed in Leeds and Halifax, also that he is an ex- lieutenant of Royal Air Force and holds Air Force Cross. Inf. to the C. DURHAM. 32.- - Stockton- on- Tees ( Co.).— 16th or 17th inst., by officebreaking ( forcing front and office doors with instrument).— 6 £ 1 Treasury notes, 1 10s. do., 8s. 7d. in silver and copper. A safe, weighing 3cwts., was removed and back ripped off by means of a hammer and chisel and money abstracted. Inf. to Supt. P. O., West Hartlepool) ; War Savings certificate, No. C. 526010, for £ 80, in the name of Miss J. D. Preston.
