CONFIDENTIAL THE POLICE Supplement B GAZETTE No. 26. FRIDAY, JULY 4, 1924 VOL XI Convicts on Licence, Persons under Police Supervision and others whose apprehensions are sought for failing to comply with the requirements of the Prevention of Crimes Act. Those bearing names marked * are Licence Holders and should produce their licences. The first condition of a licence is that the holder shall preserve it and produce it when called upon by a Magistrate or Police Officer ; but it should be distinctly understood that a Licence Holder is not required to carry his licence upon him Before preferring a charge of failing to produce a licence it should be ascertained what the defaulter has to say vide Sec. 5 Sub- Sec. 1, 7 & 21 Vict., Cap. 47, which requires a Licence Holder to produce his licence or show some reasonable excuse why he does not produce the same. N. B.— When a circulation is cancelled, the printed matter relating to the person in question might be ruled through in red ink, without defacing the portrait. Licence Holders and Supervisees. C. R. A messenger ; native of Cupar. Sentenced at C. C. C., 10- 1- 22, to 3 yrs. pen. ( conc.) for receiving and false pretences. Liberated on licence, 17- 4- 24, into the M. P. D. Failed to make his monthly report at Bow Street Pol. Sta. ( EJ, 17- 6- 24. Officer proving service of notice P. S. Allett, C. R. O. Officer proving identity, P. C. Clark, C. I. D.- N. Pre. con. of larceny, false pretences, attempted housebreaking and attempted false pretences. Known to police at KIRKCALDY. ABER- DEEN. INVERNESS, DUNDEE. EDINBURGH. GLASGOW, STOKE ( Co.), and on K. N and V. For portrait, etc., see Case No. 206, Supple- ment A ( Vol. I.). May be dealt with where found if there is evidence of an offence against the Prevention of Crimes Act in such place. Apprehensions. 178.— Walter George Cherry, C. R. O. No. 5728- 14, Case No. 87 ( Vol. XI.) and sentenced as Henry Osborne, at Pocklington Petty Sess., 28- 6- 24, to 7 days and 3 mos. impt,, for sleeping out and failing to report. 179.— James Sheen, C. R. O. No. 991- 09, Case No. 121 ( Vol. XI.), is in custody at Birmingham, charged as George Morgan, with larceny.
