CONFIDENTIAL Supplement B THE POLICE GAZETTE No. 24 FRIDAY, JUNE 20, 1924. VOL XI Convicts on Licence, Persons under Police Supervision and others whose apprehensions are sought for failing to comply'with the requirements of the Prevention of Crimes Act. Those bearing names marked * are Licence Holders and should produce their licences. The first condition of a licence is that the holder shall preserve it and produce it when called upon by a Magistrate or Police Officer ; but it should be distinctly understood that a Licence Holder is not required to carry his licence upon him. Before preferring a charge of failing to produce a licence it should be ascertained what the defaulter has to say viae too. 5 Sub- Sec. 1, 7 & 21 Viot., Cap. 47, which requires a Licence Holder to produce his licence or show some reasonable excuse why he does not produce the same. N. B.— When a circulation is cancelled, the printed matter relating to the person in question might be ruled through in red ink, without defacing the portrait. A coach painter ; native of Derby. Sentenced at Derby Ass., 13- 2- 22, to 3 yrs. pen. ( conc.), for housebreaking ( 3 cases). Liberated on licence, 15- 5- 24, to Doncaster. Failed to report on 6- 6- 24. Pre. con. of larceny and housebreaking. Known to police at DERBY. See also Case No. 94 Police Gazette, 18- 6- 24. Inf. to the C. C., Doncaster. WINCHESTER ( CITY). 168.—* George Tussler, aliases Alfred Newton, George Tufnell, Joseph Day, Charles Day, George Smith and George Day, C. R. O. No. 754- 02, b. 1859, 5ft. 7fin., c. fresh, h. brown ( turning grey, thin on top), e. grey- hazel, fleshy mole 1. side of face, top fourth 1. finger been smashed. A labourer ; native of London. Sentenced at Winchester Sess., 18- 10- 21, to 3 yrs. pen., for robbery. Liberated on licence, 1- 2- 24, to Southampton. Was cautioned by the Justices at Winchester, 28- 4- 24, for failing to report, and has now left the City without reporting. Pre. con. of larceny, possessing housebreaking implements by night, countinghousebreaking and minor offences. Know to police at ELY, EASTLEIGH, WINCHESTER and on N and R, For portrait see Case No. 99, Supplement B ( Vol. XI.).
