CONFIDENTIAL Supplement B THE POLICE GAZETTE No ' 21 FRIDAY, MAY 23, 1924. VOL. XI. Convicts on Licence, Persons under Police Supervision and others whose apprehensions are sought for tailing to comply with the requirements o! the Prevention of Crimes Act. Those bearing names marked * are Licence Holders and should produce their licences. The first condition of a licence is that the holder shall preserve it and produce it when called upon by a Magistrate or Police Officer : but it should be distinctly understood that a Licence Holder is not required to carry his licence upon him. Before preferring a charge of failing to produce a licence it should be ascertained what the defaulter has to say viae 3eo. 6 Sub- Sec. 1,7 & 21 Vict., Cap. 47, which requires a Licence Holder to produce his licence or show some reasonable excuse why he does not produce the same. N. B.— When a circulation is cancelled, the printed matter relating to the person in question might be ruled through in red ink, without defacing the portrait. ."" Absconded, 15- 5- 24, from his approved residence in Perthshire. Pre. con. of theft by housebreaking, theft and minor offences. Known to police at DUMFRIES. Persons Licensed from a Borstal Institution. PRISON COMMISSION FOR SCOTLAND. Jackson. C. R. O. No. 1096- 21, b. 1905, oft., c. fresh, EDINBURGH. h- dk- brown, e. blue. 153.— For failing to comply with the conditions Sentenced at Dumfries Sheriff Summary Ct., 31- 3- 22, to 3 yrs. detention in a B. I., for theft ( 4 charges) and theft by housebreaking. Liberated on licence, 29- 2- 24, from Saughton Institution. Inf. to the Prison Commissioners for Scotland, of his licence which has been revoked.— Samuel Edinburgh. Apprehensions. 154. George Whiteman, C. R. O. No. 1707- 06, Case No. 122 ( Vol. XI.), is in custody at Bradford charged with shopbreaking. 155.— Henry Wilson Manclark, C. R. O. No. 19523- 18, Case No. 132 ( Vol. XI.). 156— Walter Owen, C. R. O. No. 20190- 18, Case No. 143 ( Vol. XI.), is remanded at Leyland Pol. Ct. till 26- 5- 24, charged as Walter James, with housebreaking. 157.— Thomas Sutton Marshall, C. R. O. No. 12253- 21, Case No. 147 ( Vol. XI.). Apprehensions Sought. 158.— Herbert Hinchcliffe, C. R. O. No. 19720- 19, Case No. 56 ( Vol. IX.), not now wanted.
