Those bearing names marked * are Licence Holders and should produce their licences. The first condition of a licence is that the holder shall preserve it and produce it when called upon by a Magistrate or Police Officer ; but it should be distinctly understood that a Licence Holder is not required to carry his licence upon him. Before preferring H charge of failing to produce a licence it should be ascertained what the defaulter has to say vid* Sec. 5, Sub- Sec. I, 7 & 21 Viet., Cap 47, which requires a Licence Holder to produce his licence or show some reasonable excuse why he dees nut produce the tame. N.
