OXFORDSHIRE. 58.— Bicester ( Co.).— Is anything known respec- ting the motor lorry described below found, abandoned at Hopcraft Holt, Bicester, Oxford- shire, on 14th inst. ?— Four- ton " Peerless " Lorry, Newly painted slate colour. Under carriage and driver's cabin newly timbered. Iron frame, painted black. Front tyres solid, stamped 5- stone, 36 x 5. Twin tyres on back, stamped North British Clincher Band Tyre, 40 x 5, to fit 34in. rim ; near side tyre stamped W23192, offside tyre stamped 50085 W. D., new. Radiator stamped on near side T. C. 508, on offside T. C. 509. Engine stamped F., Inspected 25151. Lynite cylinders, stamped front one T. C., 15, back one T. C., 16. Magneto stamped Reny Electric Co., Anerson, Imbrana, U. S. METROPOLITAN POLICE DISTRICT. 02 — P Division.—" Ford," Cases Nos. 34, 7- 1- 24, and 98, 9- 1- 24. WARWICKSHIRE. 63.— Birmingham ( City).—" Austin," Case No. 80, 18- 1- 24. WORCESTERSHIRE. 64.— Worcester ( City).—" Ford," Case No. 100, 9- 1- 24. MISCELLANEOUS. DURHAM. £ 50 REWARD. 65.— Durham ( Co.).— At about 2.45 a. m. 13th inst., Philip Nash Gee, a boot and shoe repairer, carrying on business at No. 9, Whitworth Terrace, Spennymoor, was found dead in his shop. The deceased's skull was fractured in several places, both back and front. There were several zig- zag cuts on the chin, one cut on point of chin, and practically all the lower teeth knocked out, which all point to the deceased having been murdered, some heavy instrument having been used by his assailant. The sum of 3s. 6d. in silver was found on the floor near the body. A metal watch, brass Swiss railway Geneva keyless, ordinary face, plain dial, brass pointers, key- stem renewed about 6 mos. ago, no minute pointers, Railway Time- keeper on face, engine turned back, the back plate worn smooth, is missing. The above reward will be paid to any person ( other than an officer of any Police Force in the United Kingdom) not being the actual murderer, for such information as will lead to the appre- hension and conviction of the murderer. Inf. to the C. C., Durham. PERSONS OR BODIES FOUND. LANCASHIRE. 66.- St. Helens ( Boro.).— 21st inst., in public passage, the body of a newly born Male Child. On railway siding adjoining the passage were found piece of old striped shirt and boy's grey worsted jersey, in which the body had been wrapped. At an inquest held 22nd inst., a- verdict of Stdlborn was returned. Inf. to the C. C., St. Helens' RE- CONVICTIONS. 67 — James Henry Briggs, C. R. O. No. 8429- 16, was sentenced at Carnarvon Ass., 18- 1- 24, to 3 yrs. pen. for larceny and fraud. Cases of larceny and fraud at Glasshoughton, Wenlaton ( Blaydon), Washington ( Durham), Redcar, Bradford, Walla- sey, Sheffield, Eckington ( Renishaw), Lough- borough ( 2), Burton- on- Trent, Chatham, Hastings, Hove, Worthing, Cardiff, Pontypridd, Bridgend,- Hereford, Shrewsbury, Rhyl ( 3), Mold and Win- chester were taken into consideration when sentende was passed. See Case No. 76, 26- 10- 23. 68.— William Smith, aliases William Uttings and William Read, C. R. O. No. 3008- 97, was sentenced as William Hutting at Tower Bridge Pol. Ct. ( L.), 4- 1- 24, to 6 mos. impt. for indecent assault on female ( age 11).
