METROPOLITAN POLICE DISTRICT. 1.— T Division.-- For stealing ( bailee) gent's umbrella and Zambrene trench coat.— Charles Bell, alias Major Bell, b. about 1888, 5ft. 3 or 4in., slim build, slight fair moustache, sharp features, well spoken ; dross, dk. grey suit, bowler hat, boots, smart appearance. Called on loser in answer to and advertisement for a furnished flat, tendered a worthless cheque, No. 2007, London County Westminster & Parr's Bank, Oxford Street Branch, in payment for month's rent in advance, after which he asked for loan of mackintosh and umbrella to go to a local provision merchant's, stating that he would return in a few minutes, failed to do so and absconded. R. Prynn, C. R. O. No. 14114- 21, Special Notice 9- 11- 23, b. 1890, 5ft. 7in., thick set, c. frosh, h. brown, e. grey, small moustache, good teeth, well spoken ; dress, fawn mackintosh with belt, trilby hat, largo scarf with yellow stripes, shoes. A tailor ; native of Nottingham. Pro. con. of larceny at WINDEMERE. In posses- sion of small dk. 2- seator motor car, with hood, large cog whool behind radiator, dickey seat at rear. Had small repairs done to the engine, and was ' supplied with oil and petrol. In possession of cheque book. Engaged lodgings, represented he was an architect acting on behalf of a firm at Chester, and was planning the ground for a new housing scheme. Stated she had called for pair of corsets on which her mother had paid deposit of 10s. Was left alone in shop for a few minutes, and was then informed corsets were not sold there.
