CONFIDENTIAL Supplement B THE POLICE GAZETTE No. 28. FRIDAY. JULY 13, 1923. VOL. X. Convicts on Licence, Persons under Police Supervision and others whose apprehensions are songht for failing to comply with the requirements of the Prevention of Crimes Act. Those bearing names marked * are Licence Holders and should produce their licences. The first condition of a licence is that the holder shall preserve it and produce it when called upon by a Magistrate or Police Officer ; but it should be distinctly understood that a Licence Holder it not required to carry his licence upon him. Before preferring a charge of failing to produce a licence it should be ascertained what the defaulter has to say vi4 « See. ft, Sub- Sec. 1 7 A 21 Vict., Cap. 47, which requires a Licence Holder to produce his licence or show some reasonable ulcus* why he does not produce the same. N. B.— When a circulation is cancelled, the printed matter relating to the person in question might be ruled through in red ink, without defacing the portrait. Licence Holders and Supervisees. BIRKENHEAD. 163.— * Adam Vondearcheff, aliases Adam Ondearcheff, Adam Condearcheff, Fred Dickson, Thomas Starkie, Frederick Allen, Isroyal Adam Vondercheff, Frederick Dixon and Frederick Goodwin, C. R. O. No. 1891- 03, b. 1879, 5ft. 3Jin., c. fresh, h. dk. brown ( turning grey), e. brown- hazel. scar rt. eyebrow, anchor and coat- of- arms 1. forearm. A seaman ; native of Liverpool. Sentenced at Birkenhead Sess., 19- 10- 20, to 3 yrs. pen. ( conc.) for obtaining food by false pretences and larceny. Liberated on licence, 7- 2- 23, to Birkenhead. ' Failed to make his monthly report, 6- 7- 23, and is strongly suspected of obtaining 6s. by false pretences at Birkenhead, 14- 6- 23. Pre. con. of larceny, housebreaking, fraud and minor offences. Known to police at BIRKENHEAD, LIVER- POOL, BEVERLEY, WARRINGTON, OLDHAM and LISCARD. For portrait, etc., see Case No. 194, Supplement A ( Vol. VII). Inf. to C. C., Birkenhead. Persons Licensed from a Borstal Institution. C. R. O. 164.— For failing to comply with the conditions of his licence, which has been revoked.— Albert Thomas Wheeler, alias Alfred Thomas Wheeler, C. R. O. No. 17875- 20, b. 1903, 5ft. 6| in„ c. fresh, h. brown, e. brown. A labourer ; native of London. Sentenced at C. C. C., 8- 3- 21, to 2 yrs. detention in a B. I., for robbery with violence. Liberated on licence, 5- 1- 23, to the care of the B. A. On discharge returned to his home at Cam- berwell ( L.). Has been twice warned for leaving his work and his present whereabouts cannot be traced. May be found at fairs or with travelling showmen. 2 POLICE GAZETTE SUPPLEMENT C. Wednesday, July 13, 1923. Persons Licensed from a Borstal Institution— continued. Pro. con. of larceny and minor offence. Known to police on P. If arrested a telegram or telephonic message should he sent to C. R. O., when arrangements will be made for an escort to fetch him. The licence will expire 7- 3- 24, after which date he must not on any account be arrested by the police. C. R. O. 165.— For failing to comply with the conditions of his licence, which has been revoked.— William James Picton, alias Gwilym James Picton, C. R. O. If arrested a telegram or telephonic message should be sent to C. R. O., when arrangements will be made for an escort to fetch him. The licence will expire on 4- 10- 24, after which date he must not on any account be arrested by police. C. R. O. 166.— For failing to comply with the conditions of her licence, which has been revoked.— Edith Victoria May Messiter, C. R. O. No. 4983- 23, No. 10318- 19, b. 1903, 5ft. Oin., c. fresh, h. brown, e. grey. A blacksmith ; native of Aberdare. Sentenced at Wilts Sess., 5- 10- 20, to 3 yrs. detention in a B. I. for housebreaking. Liberated on licence, 29- 12- 22, to the care of the B. A. On discharge returned to his home at Briton Ferry to work, but after 3 mos. was unsatisfactory and left his work. Was out of employment for 6 weeks and another job was found for him, which he lost through his own fault. His present where- abouts are unknown. Is stated to have left his home, 23- 6- 23, and last seen tramping between Hereford and Ross on 29- 6- 23. Pre. con. of minor offence. Known to police at NEATH, DEVIZES and on X. b. 1902, 5ft. OJin., c. pale, h. brown, e. grey. A servant; native of Dartford. Sentenced at West Kent Sess., 1- 7- 20, to 3 yrs. detention in a B. I., for larceny. Libe ated on licence, 22- 3- 23, to the care of the B. A. Was in service at Leigh- on- Sea, and absconded with her mistress's money and clothing. Pre. con. of larceny. Known to police at MAIDSTONE and on R. If arrested a telegram or telephonic message should be sent to C. R. O., when arrangements will be made for an escort to fetch her. The licence will expire 30- 6- 24, after which date she must not on any account be arrested by police. Friday, July 13, 1923. POLICE GAZETTE SUPPLEMENT B. 3 Apprehensions. 1( 17.- Frank Adams, C. R. O. No. 1667- 08, Case No. 247 ( Vol. VIII.), is in custody on W charged as Samuel J. Tasney with fraud. 168. George Herbert Swaine, C. R. O. No. 271- 15, Case No. 120 ( Vol. X.), is remanded at Huddersfield' till 13- 7- 23, charged with warehousebreaking with intent. 169 — William Henry Hunter, C. R. O. No. 605- 13, . 1. Case No. 139 ( Vol. X.), was, at Cardiff Pol. Ct., 7- 7- 23, charged under the P. C. Act, and the case adjourned for 3 mos. 170.— Stanley Jones, C. R. O. No. 490- 08, Case No. 147 ( Vol. X.). 171.— William Kean, C. R. O. No. S/ 79762, Case No. 155 ( Vol. X.), is in custody at Kilmarnock and remanded till 13- 7- 23, charged with theft by housebreaking. Apprehensions Sought. 172.— William George Swaine, C. R. O. No. 276- 20, Case No. Ill ( Vol. X.). Not now wanted.
