GLAMORGANSHIRE . 4.— Swansea ( Boro.).— For obtaining £ 40 by false pretences.— T. A. Roberts, b. about 1873, 5ft. 9in., slim build, c. dk., hollow chested, turns toes inwards; dress, dk. overcoat ( with belt at back) and cap ( worn over eyes), shabby appear- ance, carried attache- case. Native of ( believed) Sittingbourne. Advertised in local newspaper for man with knowledge of refreshments and offered good wage. Loser applied for situation and an interview was arranged when accused stated he was agent for Wilson's Soda Fountains Ltd., and that he would require security of £ 40, which was later handed him. Enquiries show that accused is not authorised to appoint agents. < Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Swansea. KENT. 5.— Dover ( Boro.).— For stealing ( servant), £ 12 Is.— John McNaught, alias John William McNaught C. R. O. NORFOLK. 50.— East Dereham ( Co.).— 29th ult., larceny, dwelling ( walk in).— Gold chatelaine, about 7in. long, 1 Jin. wide, fin. deep, 2 small gold cups hanging at sides, little larger than thimble, the cups and chatelaino suspended from 3 flat gold chains attached to a hook, in case covered with faded blue skin ( very old) ; gold matchbox, with initials H. K. on one side, and crest— swan sitting on coronet other side; papier mache purse, oval gold ring in centre with picture of woman therein one side, H. C. engraved other side ; French china ornament, representing small book, with woman on one side and cockerel on other ; Swan stylo pen, in red case ; and £ 2.— Two Tramps are in custody on suspicion of stealing above property and 2 10s. notes were found in their possession. They appear to be of low class, and are believed to have booked to St. Pancras by the 5.17 p. m. train.
