Hand ; dress, grey suit with brown strij> e, fawn trilby liat, wing collar, tie, lady's black shoes with patent toe- caps ( size 6), fawn socks and spate, wore plain gold ring.— Woman who gave name of Celia Turner, alias Mrs. Dawson, b. 1891, 5ft. 7 or 8in., big build, c. clear, h. auburn, e. brown, 2 long scars rt. side neck, gold tooth 1. upper jaw, Jewish appearance, Lancashire accent, common class, addicted to drink, violent disposition; dress, black coney seal coat with brown beaver collar, large picture hat made of lace with coloured dangles at sides, apricot crepe- dechine blouse, short brown skirt, It. stockings and black shoes fastenod with straps, brown kid gloves and carried umbrella with cream coloured top with red ring, wore ring of blue stones and diamonds 3rd rt. finger, and gold expanding wristlet watch ; also in possession of small black hat; short fur coat; string of large < camber beads ; string of cream ivory do. ; 3 strings of pearls ; gold chain with American coin ( Indian head and feathers, worth about 2£ dollars) ; 3 strings of corals ( 1 black and red and 2 red) ; 2 gold bangles ; and old fashioned brooch, about l| in. square, Mary Magdalene offering sacrifice, set with pearls ( 2 missing), glass covered; 4- sided gold coloured seal; diamond ring with about 5 large stones ; gold pendant, star shape, size of 5s.- piece, with small spray set pearls; lady's gold wristlet watch; gold ring, set ruby and 2 diamonds ; heavy^ curb bracelet; long thin gold chain: and diamond ring, set 5 stones. Stayed at following addresses between datea stated : George Hotel, Stockport, from 22nd Dec., 1922, for few nights, having moved there ( so they stated) from Church- street, Manchester. T^ eft, Stockport for 64, Albert- road, Blackpool. Warren & Buckley Arms Hotel, Stockport,, from 11th March till 19th March, 1923, on which date they removed to City House, City- road, Chester, and remained at that address till 26th March, when they went to 6, Bath- street, Chester ; remained there until 7th April, and left same day for Oswestry, and stayed at 12, King- street, Oswestry, until 14th inst., when they left, hurriedly by train for London ( Padding- ton Station), travelling first class via Shrewsbury. Had in their possession two portmanteaus and large brown attache- case. The man invariably carried attache- case when out of doors, and stated he was a jeweller's traveller. Inf. to the D. C. DURHAM. 2.— Darlington ( Co.).— For stealing ( servant), 10th or 11th inst., gent's Hazelwood bicycle, may have Hazelwood transfer and Hayward, Maker, Darlington, on front, road racer, 26in. frame, 26in. wheels, plated dropped handle- bars, rubber pedals, front rim brake, lamp bracket on rt. front fork, new carrier on back, mudguards ( front one new), old saddle, fastened to frame with strap, rims rusty, toolbag containing cycling outfit, in good condition ; Lucas acetylene lamp, King of the Road thereon, E. Id. at Mallaig, between 2- 12- 22 and 9th ult.— William Alexander Balfour MacKay, b. 1881, 5ft. 8in., stout build, h. dk., full face, clean shaven ; dress, grey tweed suit, grey velour hat, heavy brown overcoat, brown boots, carried brown Gladstone bag. A fish salesman ; native of Rothesay. May be found at fishing stations. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Inverness. * r LANCASHIRE. 4.— Blackpool ( Boro.).— For stealing ( bailee) £ 3, 13th inst. — Benjamin Matthew Harding, 0 b. 1899, 5ft. 10| in., medium build, c. fresh, h. dk. brown, e. hazel, clean shaven ; dress, navy blue suit, raincoat, grey cap. A trawler fireman. Was instructed to call at an office and draw the above sum of money, which he did, and absconded. Has worked on trawlers sailing from Fleetwood. May try to obtain a ship at Liverpool. Frequents billiard saloons and public houses. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Blackpool. 5.— Bury ( Co.).— For stealing property, Case No. 48, 13- 4- 23.— A Woman, b. 1873 to 1878, 5ft. 4 or 5in., medium build, c. fresh ; dress, black plush or sealskin coat, black knitted wrap on head, shoes. Carried It. coloured bag similar to soldier's kit- bag, but smaller. Enters shops during temporary absence of shopkeeper. If seen she makes enquiries about price of articles and leaves without making a purchase. Inf. to Supt. Thompson, Bury. 6.— Manchester ( City).— For being concerned with two other men in shopbreaking, 12th or 13th inst.— Charles Barlow, alias John Edwards, C. R. O. No. 14782- 19, b. 1899, 5ft. 4| in., c. fresh, h. dk. brown, e. hazel, rt. arm crippled. A carter; native of Manchester, where he has cons, for warehousebreaking, shopbreaking, lar- ceny, aggravated assault on female and minor offences. Inf. to the C. C., Manchester. 7.— Old Trafford ( Co.).— Bernard Joseph Pemberton, Case No. 137, 13- 4- 23, is identical with Bernard Joseph Pemberton, C. R. O. Yates, Old Trafford. 8— Reedley ( Co.).— For obtaining £ 2 by false pretences.— John Loftus, alias John Tite, b. 1888 to 1893, 5ft. 5 or 6in., c. fresh, h. It. brown ; dress, blue jacket and vest, brown cord trousers, blue silk muffler, dk. cap and boots. A glazier ; native of Burnley. Bray, b. 1878, 6ft., stout build, h. and moustache dk., well spoken and plausible ; dress, dk. clothing, wore white apron. Induced loser to purchase inferior linoleum which he represented to be of superior quality. Stated he had been recommended to call on loser by Capt. Fellowes, Remount officer, Arbourfield, where ho had been laying linoleum ( false) ; also represented the roll to contain 40 yards, whereas it only contained 20 yards. Accom- panied by man ( not wanted), b. 1877 to 1882, 5ft. 9 or 10in., slim build, ginger moustache ; dress, die. clothing. Identical with G. Bray, Case No. 13, 12- 3- 23. Warrant issued.
