CONFIDENTIAL THE POLICE Supplement B GAZETTE No. 5. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 1923. VOL. X Convicts on Licence, Persons under Police Supervision and others whose apprehensions are sought for failing to comply with the requirements of the Prevention of Crimes Act. Those bearing names marked * are Licence Holders, and should produce their licences. The first condition of a licence is that the holder shall preserve it and produce it when called upon by a Magistrate or Police Officer ; but it should bo distinctly understood that a Licence Holder is not required to carry his licence upon him. Before preferring a charge of failing to produce a licence it should be ascertained what the defaulter has to say vide Sec. 5, Suh- Sec. 1, 7 & 28 Vict., Cap. 47, which requires a Licence Holder to produce his licence or show some reasonable excuse why he does not produce the same. N. B.— When a circulation is cancelled, the printed matter relating to the person in question might be rulod through in red ink, without defacing the portrait. Persons Licensed from a Borstal Institution. Apprehensions. PRISON COMMISSION FOR SCOTLAND. EDINBURGH. 24.— For failing to comply with the conditions of her licence, which has been revoked.— Josephine McDermaid, C. R. O. No. 2180- 23, b. 1900, 5ft. 2in., c. fresh, h. dk. brown, e. blue. Sentenced at Glasgow Sheriff Ct., 8- 9- 19, to 3 yrs. detention in a B. I. for theft by house- breaking. Liberated on licence, 24- 1- 21, to Kircudbright- shire. Absconded from her approved residence 15- 1- 23. Pre. con. of theft by housebreaking. Known to police at Glasgow. Inf. to Prison Commissioners for Scotland, Edinburgh. 25.- Joseph Fowler, C. R. O. No. 321- 21, Case No. 199 ( Vol. IX.), is in custody on N and remanded at Stratford P. Sess. ( L.), 29- 1- 23, until 5- 2- 23, charged as Joseph Collins with possessing counter- feit coin. 26.— Arthur Charles Chambers, C. R. O. No. 1745- 05, Case No. 207 ( Vol. IX.), is in custody at Chester, charged as Arthur Chambers with being on enclosed premises with intent to commit a felony. 2 POLICE GAZETTE SUPPLEMENT B. No. 1226- 12, Case No. 230 ( Vol. IX.), is in custody at Forfar, charged with housebreaking. • Apprehensions Sought. 28.— Albert Frank Doran, rC. R. O. No. 21456- 17, Case No. 160 ( Vol. IX.).
