Native of ( stated) Worcester. Obtained lodgings, stated he had come from Liverpool to visit friend at Hollingsworth and that he had a document which it was essential should be signed by a military gentleman in the town ( false). Called on loser and stated that a wagon had collided with his motor car some miles distant, that he had walked to local garage to arrange for removal of car and required lodgings for night. In addition, he requested garage proprietor to fetch car, but on his proceeding to spot indicated was unable to find it. Following morning he informed accused of failure to find car, when he produced road map and pointed to a different place. Immediately after proprietor started on second journey, accused absconded.
