A motor car was insured in various companies and claims made for theft. The car was never stolen, but transferred from one accused to the other. Warrant issued. Inf. to C. R. O. KENT. 2.— Chatham ( Co.).— For breaking and entering dwelling house and stealing therein., lady's gold watch and chain ; green heart shaped stone, Cers one side ; gent's gold mourning ring ; 2 lady's gold rings ; green soul stone with gold rop ; and £ 8 in gold. — A Man, b. about 1888, 5ft. lOin to 6ft., stout build, c. fresh, slight moustache ; dress, reefer jacket, khaki trousers, dk. peak cap. No. 13616- 21, Case No. 55, 14- 8- 22, b. 1885, 5ft. 3| in., c. fresh, li. black, e. hazel. A traveller; native of Yarmouth. Pre. con. of fraud at READING. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Ramsgate. LANCASHIRE. 4.— Bootle ( Boro.).— For stealing ( lodgings) lady's 9ct. curb bracelet; gent's silver lever watch, white dial, ordinary numerals, photograph inside outer case ; lady's champagne coloured crepe- de- chine jumper ; navy blue velvet tunic suit, belt with bright steel buckle, to fit boy 4 yrs.— Florence Barnes, b. 1882 ( looks older), 5ft. 6 or 7in., stout build, h. dk., e. blue, protruding lower lip, upper teeth false, lower teeth uneven, splay footed, swinging gait, London accent; dress, nigger brown or navy blue costume, black velvet hat ( trimmed with white osprey and gold flowers), brown fur, black stockings, patent leather shoes. Engaged rooms in September, stated she was a widow and had come from Brighton, and that her parents resided at Tunbridge Wells. Accompanied loser to Moreton for Christmas holidays and left there ostensibly to proceed to Liverpool, but visited loser's house and stole above property, afterwards taking her luggage to Lime Street Station, where it was labelled for Euston ( L.). Inf. to the C. C., Bootle. 5.— Burnley ( Boro.).— For larceny.— Tom Taylor, alias James Taylor, b. 1903, 5ft. 6 or 7in., slim build, h. dk. brown, clean shaven ; dress, black vicuna suit ( trousers too short), grey Army socks, shabby boots. Turner, Church. 7.— Manchester ( City).— For being concerned with John Beaumont ( in custody) in larceny ( trick— ringing the changes), 22nd ult.— Cyril Smith, aliases George Smith and Roberts, b. 1901, 5ft. l£ in., stiff build, c. fresh, h. brown, e. grey ; dress, dk. overcoat with silk lapels, dk. trilby hat, white butterfly collar, dk. tie, respectable appearance ; Native of Manchester. Entered tobacconist's shop, asked for cigarettes, tendered 10s. Treasury note, received 9s. ( id. change and then asked for return of note, saying he had some silver. He was handed the note, then placed same on the silver, handed both to shopkeeper and asked for 20s. note Loser handed him a 20s. note and he then left the shop, being joined oustide by Beaumont. Inf. to the C. C., Manchester. 8.— Reedley ( Co.). Sharples, Case No. 77. 27- 12- 22, is identical with James Sharples, C. R. O. No. S/ 113566, b. 1891, 5ft. 8in., c. fresh, h. and e. brown. An engineer; native of Pendlebury. Pre. con. of embezzlement and larceny at MAN- CHESTER ( James Sharples), CHESTERFIELD, TAMWORTH ( James Entwistle Sharpies) and on W. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Cleal, Reedley. 9.- Seaforth ( Co.).— For stealing ( dwelling) at West Derby, 27th ult., black leather purse, 4 com- partments, and £ 20 7s.— A Man, b. 1883 to 1889, 5ft. 5 to 8in., medium build, e. fresh, clean shaven, slouching gait, and inclines head to 1. ; dress, brown suit, It. cap, may be wearing dk. overcoat. Left behind black mackintosh, chain hanger, Harveys, 17, London- street, London, E. C., on tab, and in pockets thereof were a white hand- kerchief ( R. W. B. in ink in corner), piece of white towelling ( about 1yd. long, joined in centre, red border) and a dk. blue tie. Inf. to Supt. Wilcock, Seaforth.
