STAFFORDSHIRE. 69.— Stone ( Co.).— Property, Case No. 63, 25- 10- 22.— Sidney Ellis Lester, alias Sidney Ellis, and David Morrison, aliases McFie and McKie, in custody at Crewe and committed to Chester Q. LANCASHIRE. 82.— Bury ( Co.).— 4th inst., A Man telephoned local furriers, gave the name of a prominent public official, and requested the shop manager to send a valuable Persian lambskin coat to his office. The coat was taken to the office indicated by the shop porter, who on arrival found that the place was closed. Enquiries made later at the home of the public official showed that no such order had been given. Appears identical with Man who gave name of W. T. Leighton, Case No. 86, 23- 10- 22. Inf. to Supt. DURHAM. 120— West Hartlepool ( Co.).— For stealing ( trick) 1st inst., Densmore typewriter, No. 202 near left ribbon spool, invisible type, name Densmore in gilt letters on paper table, an old machine but in good condition, in a brown leather case with handle at side.— A Man, b. about 1900, well spoken ; dress, grey suit, cap, soft collar, tie, boots. The typewriter was being conveyed, after repair, to its owner, by a boy messenger when he was accosted in street by above described man who ascertained where the boy was going and stated that the owner was away and wished for the typewriter to be sent by train, and asked the boy to hand it to him for that purspose. A mechanic ; native of Shrewsbury. Pre. con. of fraud and forgery at WIGAN ( Ralph Edmondson), BIRKENHEAD, SHREWSBURY, LIVERFOOL ( Albert Rowlands), ST. HELENS ( Albert Edward Rowland), KNUTSFORD ( Albert Edward Rowlands), MANCHESTER and ECCLES ( Herbert Atkins). On above date called upon loser who is wife of confectionery salesman and introduced himself as a customer and an old friend of her husband. Said he had lost his wallet con- taining £ 6 15s. and railway ticket for Liverpool. Gave him above amount and was handed an I. O. U. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Warrington. NOTTINGHAMSHIRE . 122.— Nottingham ( City).— For embezzlement.— Fred Jackson, alias Fred Brown, b. 1880, 5ft. 5in., c. pale, h. dk. ( turning grey), clean shaven, bad front teeth ; dress, grey jacket, It. flannel trousers, brown knitted wool waistcoat, It. brown trilby hat, soft white collar, tie, black shoes, boots ( much worn). Native of Besthorpe, Lincolnshire. Was employed as traveller by a firm of electricians and plumbers. Has threatened suicide. May be found at common lodging- houses or Y. M. C. A. huts. Inf. to Supt. Cooper, Leven. HERTFORDSHIRE . PH25.— Watford ( Co.).— For obtaining money by false pretences.— J. H. Carter, b. 1892 to 1896, 5ft. 6 or 7in., c. fresh, h. dk. brown, impediment in speech ; dress, It. brown mixture sports coat, grey flannel trousers, soft striped collar, boots. Was given permission by a printing firm to canvas for orders on 10 per cent, commission. Sent in various orders and received his commission on same. The orders were afterwards found to be fictitious.
