ESSEX. 125.- Southend- on- Sea ( Boro.).— For obtammg £ 2 by false pretences, 5th inst,— Ernest Bass Ellis, aliases Edward Baldock and Edward J. Ellis, b. about 1887, 5ft. 8 or 9in. medium build, c. fresh, tattooed forearms, upper teeth false. A general labourer. Was formerly in Army and may be in receipt of pension. Occupied furnished rooms, and when about to leave same let them as unfurnished, obtaining the rent in advance. After he had left it was found that he had not the owner's per- mission to let the rooms. The following articles were stolen from the rooms he occupied : 4 white woollen blankets, coloured stripes at ends ; 2 pairs linen sheets ( 1 pair marked N. C. B.) ; pillow sbp : 2 roller towels ( all marked with laundry mark S. P. X. in ink and 467 in red cotton).
