Aldershot ( Co.).— For obtaining by false pretences ( worthless cheque), navy blue trench coat : 2 men's tunic shirts : 2 boy's do. ; pair boy's tan hoots ; pair braces ; and £ 4 17s. 4d .— Woman who gave name of A. Hibden, I). 1882, 5ft. 2 or : Sin., thin build, c. pale, h. dk. ; dress, dk. clothes, small Napoleon shaped hat. Called on loser, selected above goods, and presented in payment cheque for 119 10s.. No. 105'' 9014, on the Union Bank of Manchester, preston Branch, and received the goods and balance in cash. Accompanied by a man ( supposed husband), b. 1877 to 1882. 5ft. 4in., h. ginger , dress, grey suit and trilby hat. brown boots, wore silver badge ; and 7 children, eldest boy, b. 1900 or 1907, 5ft. .'( in., thin build, c. fair : dress, It. grey suit, black school cap with white badge, identical with Woman who give name of A. Hebden, Case No. 58. 28- 8- 22. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Davis, Aldershot. dk. cloth trousers, black boots with rubbers. Believed native of Huddersfield or Dewsbury. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Blackpool. 100. Liverpool ( City).— For conspiracy to defraud. - Charles H. Smullen, b. 1899 or 1900, about 5ft. 5in., slim build, c. sallow, h. black, e. dk., clean shaven ; dress, soft collar, tie, velour hat, respectable appearance. Adler, alias Bennett, b. 1892, "> ft. 9 or lOin., medium build, c. fresh, h. ( bushy) dk., thin toothbrush moustache ; dress, generally dk. clothing. Portrait of Smullen will appear next issue. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Liverpool. 101. Liverpool ( City).— For embezzling £ 24 2s., 8th ult. and other dates — William Paton, b. 1882, 0ft., stout build, c. ruddy, e. blue, ginger moustache; dress, shabby suit, soft felt hat, boots. Was employed as manager of shop and workrooms. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Liverpool. HERTFORDSHIRE. 98.— Watford ( Co.).— For stealing gent's bicycle ( recovered), 31st ult.— A Man, b. 1897 to 1900, about 5ft. 8in., c. and h. fair ; dress, blue suit with It. stripe, brown trilby hat, black and white striped scarf, boots. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Moles, Watford. LANCASHIRE. 99.— Blackpool ( Boro.).— For stealing ( hotel), 6th inst., gent's silver Geneva watch, maker's name Olivant and Botsford. Manchester ; gent's single stone diamond tie- pin, mounted on diamond shaped gold setting ; gent's gold tie- pin, set small diamond in centre, surrounded with emeralds, flat setting, size of threepenny piece: pair gent's pyjamas, pink, blue and cream stripes ; gent's fawn coloured woollen waistcoat, - I pockets, dk. buttons; and £ 29. H. H. E. Stott, b. 1890, 5ft. " in., medium build, c. fresh ( freckled), h. It. sandy, e. large ( staring), clean shaven, teeth irregular and discoloured, tooth missing upper I. jaw, twitches mouth slightly when speaking : dress, blue blazer with two colours of cording. t Monday, September 25, 1922. THE POLICE GAZETTE. 9 RE- CONVICTIONS— continued. 76.—' William Alfred Stringer, C. R. O. No. S/ 131286, was sentenced at Essex Q. Sess., 14- 9- 22, to 12 mos. impt. for storebreaking and larceny. See Case No. 19, 14- 7- 22. 77.— Leonard Hamilton, C. R. O. No. 4865- 16, was sentenced at Essex Q. Sess., 15- 9- 22, to 15 mos. impt. for burglary ( 2 cases) and housebreaking. Three cases of larceny ( dwelling) were taken into consideration when sentence was passed. See Case No. 24, 2- 8- 22. 3- 9- 22, to 3 yrs. Borstal Detention for larceny ( 3 cases). See Case No. 27, 16- 8- 22. 80.— William Gilday, C. R. O. No. S/ 165276, was sentenced at Essex Q. Sess., 14- 9- 22 to 3 yrs. pen. for warehousebreaking and larceny and stealing motor lorry, etc. See Case No. 26, 12- 7- 22. 81.— Arthur Wallace Canderton, C. R. O. No. 11722- 19, was sentenced at Faversham ( Boro.) P. Sess., 20- 9- 22, to 3 mos. impt. See Case No. 23, 20- 9- 22. 78.— Gladys Jardine, C. R. O. No. 20470- 18, was sentenced at Rotherham ( W. R.) P. Sess., 19- 9- 22, to 6 and 3 mos. impt. ( cons.) for larceny ( 3 cases). See Case No. 31, 13- 9- 22. 79.— Albert Edward John le Saux, C. R. O. No. 17677- 21, was sentenced at Essex Q. Sess., 82.—' William Prescott, C. R. O. No. S/ 131441, was at Newport ( Boro.) Pol. a., 20- 9- 22, fined £ 5 or 1 mo. impt. for obtaining money by false pretences. See Case No. 17, 18- 9- 22. 83.— Robert Fletcher, C. R. O. No. 14854- 20, was sentenced at Nottingham ( City) Pol. Ct., 20- 9- 22, 6 mos. impt. for cyclestealing. See Case No. 34, 18- 9- 22.
