Native of ( believed) Chatham. Stays at common lodging houses and visits public houses performing conjuring tricks with a metal tray, glass and coins.— James Reilly, b. about 1887, about 5ft. 7in., believed slight ginger moustache, full red face, nose apparently been broken and inclined one side ; dress, bluish coloured suit', dk. tweedcap or trilby hat, boots. Stated he. was a motor engineer and ex- service man. Stays at common lodging houses and calls from house to house selling a sheet bf verses, entitled Unem- ployed and the Great Distress in England. Clayton, aliases Layson or Clayson, of 97, Walford Road, Stoke Newington ( reported to be his own property), b. 1882, 5ft. 6 or 7in., medium build, h, dk., clean shaven, paralysed rt. leg ( uses crutches, occasionally uses a stick) ; wears riding breeches and trench boots. This man has been a cripple from birth and has never served in the Army. He has obtained money by posing as an ex- soldier and offering for sale pamphlets relating to the action of the Kaiser Wednesday, November 8, 1922. G. Gray— both b. 1894, 5ft. 8in., medium build, c. dk., clean shaven ; dress, dk. jackets, blue overalls, caps. Both men were seen riding the stolen machine at Wooburn, Bucking- hamshire, 2- 6- 22, and called at roadside inn stating the gear box had broken down. They removed and took away magneto, gear box and gears, and left on a passing lorry, stating they were going to London and would return in a day or two for the motor cycle. Inf. to Supt. Higgs, Bilston. SURREY. 139.— Guildford ( Boro.).— For obtaining £ 8 2s. l£ d., by false pretences ( worthless cheque), 4th inst.— F. Walton, b. 1887, 5ft. 5 or 6in., medium build, c. sallow, h. dk., believed clean shaven, veiy plausible ; dress, brown suit, fawn felt hat, cream pleated shirt ( with narrow and broad brown stripes alternately), low brown shoes ( pointed toes). Called at a grocery store, ordered goods to the value of £ 1 14s. 5id., and tendered in payment cheque No. F 867718, for £ 9 16s. 7d., on Henry S. King & Co.' s Bank, 9, Pall Mall ( L.), drawn by A. J. Russell in favour of F. Walton, and received above amount in change. The cheque was returned marked No Account and was subsequently found to be one from a stolen book. Warrant issued.
