Obtained lodg- ings, stating she was commencing work at a solicitor's office Tunbridge Wells ( false). Ford, Tonbribge. 4.— Tonbridge ( Co.).— For obtaining £ 2 by false pretences, at Southborough, 15th inst.— A Man, who gave the name of J. Campbell, b. about 1882 to 1887, about 5ft. 9in., slight build, c. and h. dk., thin features, well spoken ; dress, blue serge suit, It. grey tweed overcoat, trilby or bowler hat. Appearance of a traveller, carried attache- case, and large book containing typewritten receipts with address of a bogus firm thereon. Called on tradesmen, stated he repre- sented the Forward Publicity Service, Publishing and Advertising Contractors, Colmore- row, Birmingham ( false), and asked for £ 2 for the insertion of their names and addresses on blotting pads to be distributed to hotels, clubs, etc., in the district. Identical with Durbar Turner, Case No. 79, 14- 11- 21. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Ford, Tonbridge. NORTHUMBERLAND. 5.— Newcastle- upon- Tyne ( City).— Adverting to Case No. II, 13- 3- 22. A seagoing fireman. Inf. to the C. C., Tynemouth. STAFFORDSHIRE. 7.— Smethwick ( Co.).— For embezzling £ 5 4s. l| d., 18th inst.— Arthur Armistead, b. 1877 to 1887, 5ft. 8 or 9in., c. fresh, h. dk. ( turning grey), clean shaven, good address ; dress, brown suit, grey and brown mixture overcoat, slate coloured trilby hat, brown boots ; may now be wearing It. tweed suit, smart appearance. Believed native of London. Has worked for Price Bros., bakers, at Cardiff and Newcastle- upon- Tyne and stated he was a Sergt.- Major in the Artillery during the late war. Believed to be in possession of passports and may endeavour to leave country, as he has expressed his intention of returning to Germany, where he married. Accompanied by wife ( a German, not wanted), christian name believed Henni, rather tall, well built, dk. brown hair ; dress, fawn costume, silver grey hat ( turned up all round and trimmed with feather), suede shoes and stockings. Had in her possession large green coat with fur collar, navy blue costume and black patent leather shoes, which she may now be wearing. Carried baby aged 11 mos., generally wrapped in dk. grey woollen coat. Is in possession of dress basket, about 3ft. x 2Jft. x 2ft., and large brown tin trunk. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt.
