C. Williams, aliases E. C. Austin, E. J. Parry and N. S. ESSEX. 4.-— Brentwood ( Co.).— For stealing gent's bicycle ( recovered), 14th December, 1921.— Lawrence Martin, b. 1903, 5ft. 9£ in., medium build, c. fresh, h. and e. brown, round face, clean shaven ; dress, dk. suit, soft hat, black boots. BUCKINGHAMSHIRE . 26.— Slough ( Co.).— 4th inst., by burglary ( forcing kitchen window) at Langley.— Brass carriage clock, about 3in. by 6in., glass sides; silver corset chain, as worn by officers of Rifle Brigade; silver medal, Burmah Campaign, with clasps 1885- 1887, may have name Edward Mostyn Woodhouse thereon ; small round silver box ; large silver brooch, arms of Ionian Islands thereon; Swammy silver bracelet, with pin- cushion set; do. locket; large silver badge, as worn by officers of Rifle Brigade ; Gozo silver bracelet, with open work beads.— Suspicion is attached to Two Men : 1st, b. 1892 to 1897, about 5ft. 8in., thin build, sharp features ; dress, grey jacket and cap, wearing 2 pairs socks, low shoes. SURREY. 95.— Farnham ( Co.).— For obtaining money by false pretences, at Elstead.-— A Man who gave name of James Phillips, b. about 1892, about 5ft. 4in., medium build, c. sallow, h. dk., e. brown, clean shaven, good teeth, soft spoken and very plausible ; dress, greyish- brown suit, grey trilby hat, black boots, wearing discharged soldier's silver badge. Represents himself as a photo- grapher and calls at houses seeking orders for photo enlargements, promising to send enlarge- ment in oak frame within a fortnight. Usually obtains 5s. 6d. for order— which is not executed— and gives a printed receipt, Discharged Soldiers' Studio, Goldsworth Road, Woking ( false), written with indelible pencil in block letters.
