Called on loser, falsely represented that he was the Revd. Anthony Wallace, Wesleyan Minister, Northampton; that Pike was a discharged soldier and had obtained situation at a club in London, and obtained the the above amount for Pike's railway fare there. Jewish appearance ; dress, dk. overcoat, bowler hat. Carried pictures in brown paper parcel. Inf. to Supt. Pickering, Bury. 93.— Bury ( Co.).— From hotel dressing room, 4th inst.— Gent's silver wristlet watch, screw back, luminous dial; gent's silver hunter lever watch, Swiss make, T. Russell & Sons, Church- street, on dial, Roman numerals ; 4 gent's leather pocket wallets, containing crossed cheque on the Palatine Bank, Bury, for £ 1, signed F. Blunt; crossed cheque on William Deacon's Bank, St. Anne's, for £ 1 Is., signed F. Sleigh; crossed • cheque on Parr's Bank, Manchester, for 5s., signed- G. H. Taylor, jnr., papers, photographs, etc., and eight 10s. Treasury notes; gunmetal cigarette- case and £ 4 Is. 4d.— Suspicion is attached to A Man, b. about 1892 to 1897, 5ft. 6 or 7in., stiff build, c. fresh, clean shaven ; dress, fawn trench coat, black and white muffler, cap, respectable appearance. Stated he was a player for a visiting football team ( false) and wished to go to dressing room to change. En- tered dressing room and left 10 minutes later stating he was unable to find his tackle. HAMPSHIRE. 94.— Alton ( Co.).— For obtaining £ 25 by false pretences ( worthless cheque), at Froyle, 31- 1- 22 and 2nd ult.— Ernest Russell, b. 1877, to 1882, 5ft. 0 or 7in., thin build, c. fresh, h. dk. ( turning grey) ; dress, dk. grey suit and trilby hat. Took furnished house in November last, and in January advertised for partner with £ 200 to commence poultry farming. A person visited him on 3rd ult., and handed him £ 100 deposit. He then left house for purpose of obtaining an agreement from a solicitor and has not since been seen. Is in possession of cheque book on Lloyd's Bank, Ltd., Dyke- road Branch, Brighton, and prior to absconding, obtained above amount by one of the cheques from this book. May call on house agents, etc., with a view to negotiating for furnished house or bungalow. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Reuben, Alton. LANCASHIRE. 95. Reedley ( Co.).— Kor stealing 10s. from gas meter. James Gallagher, b. 1867, 5ft. 4| in., c. fresh, h. brown ( turning grey), e. blue, faint . tattoo marks 1. forearm, 2nd 1. finger missing from 1st joint; dress, It. tweed jacket and vest, dk. trousers, tweed cap, black boots. A native of Halifax. Inf to Supt. deal. Reedley. from Grantham to London by 3.12 a. m. train, 9th inst., arriving King's Cross, 6 a. m. Were carrying brown leather suit- case and It. coloured kit- bag, which, no doubt, contained stolen pistols. Maguire will probably change into civilian attire on journey, as both had other civilian clothing in their possession. Inf. to Supt. Page, Sleaford. WARWICKSHIRE. 97.— Birmingham ( City).— For stealing ( bailee) £ 5 4s. 2d.— Lawrence Pillans Kelly, b. 1899, 5ft. 10in., slim build, c. sallow, h. It., e. blue clean shaven, stoops when walking. Was employed as temporary clerk in Finance Department, Ministry of Pensions. It was his duty to purchase Insurance stamps and to affix same to instance cards of pensioners. On 19- 12- 21, failed to attend his duties, and it was found that he had absconded. The total amount involved is £ 19 10s. 3d. Has been on the stage with his wife, whose professional name is Cora Kelly. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Birmingham. LINCOLNSHIRE. 96.- Sleaford ( Co.).— For stealing from Royal Air Force, Cranwell.— 24 Colt automatic pistols, Nos. 110433, 108106, 110176, 110276, 109604, 110075, 107005, 109700, 110023, 110507, 107367, 109417, 106408, 110603, 108766, 100525, 110313, 109485, 109268, 110523, 110651, 110282, 110517, « md 109300.— A. C. I Ralph Manning, b. 1899, 5ft. 5in., c. fresh, h. dk. brown, e. brown ; dress, blue serge suit, dk. blue overcoat and It. cap.— A. C. 2 Bernard Francis Maguire, b. 1902, 6ft. l£ in., c. fresh, h. dk. brown, e. hazel, 2 mole marks back of neck ; dress, blue uniform of Royal Air Force. Native of Dublin. Both these men are absentees from Royal Air Force, Cranwell. Tney booked from Sleaford to Grantham by 10 p. m. train, 8th inst., and it is believed they booked
