CHESHIRE. 2.— Runcorn ( Co.).— For indecent exposure, at Acton Grange, 2nd inst.— John McMahon, b. 1881, Sft. llin. to 6ft., slender build, c. freckled, h. sandy, e. blue ( glide inwards), clean shaven; dress, blue serge suit ( worn), dk. cap and muffler, black boots ( worn). May be found at lodging houses. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Hayward, Runcorn. ESSEX. 3.— Colchester ( Boro.).— For stealing £ 18, 9th inst.— A Man who gave the name of J. Hayes, b. about 1891, 5ft. 6 or 7in., stout build, c. dk. ( blotchy), h. dk., full face, prominent nose, Jewish appearance ; dress, grey suit, grey overcoat with belt at back, It. trilby hat. Hired a motor car, stated he was a traveller for a London firm, and called at large houses in the district soliciting orders. At some of the houses he said he was collecting miniatures for a firm in Piccadilly ( L.). Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Colchester. ISLE OF WIGHT. 4.— Newport ( Co.).— For stealing at Ventnor, 1- 10- 21.— Lady's black net hat, pointed each side and trimmed with a black plume, Madame Elaine, Brighton, on tab inside.— Florence May Henwood, alias Shelley, b. 1887, 5ft. 4 or 5in., well built, c. pale, h. dk. brown ; dress, long loose fitting It. fawn coat, mauve coloured jumper, and stolen hat. In possession of a motor van ( said to resemble a large Ford), dk. blue or black, 2 doors, 1. hand drive. The above car was seen on the early morning 9th inst., close to the scene of the burglary and was afterwards traced through Chesterfield and Clay Cross to Derby. Myers, Old Trafford. 40 — Old Trafford ( Co.).— 12th inst., from public house parlour, at Failsworth.— Collecting box, containing about £ 2.— Suspicion is attached to A Man, b. about 18S8, 5ft. 4in., c. pale, h. and moustache brown; dress, black suit, collar, tie, cap, black boots. Was offering shirts for sale in the house about the time of the offence. The box was afterwards found in a field. Inf. to Acting Supt. Inf. to Supt. Ellis. Epping. MISCELLANEOUS. LANCASHIRE. 52.— Wigan ( Co.).— On 13th or 14th inst., an offertory box in a church at Platt Bridge was forced open with an instrument, and 5s. stolen. No one is suspected, but it is known the below described man was in the district recently, and he was seen in a church in which an offertory box was afterwards found to have been broken open, and the contents stolen. He is believed to have been seeking orders for adverisements in a diction- ary at that time — Edward McDonald White, alias Herbert Mostyn Stewart, C. R. O. STAFFORDSHIRE. 54— West Bromwich ( Co.).— 14th inst., in the Birmingham Canal.— The body of a Female Child, about 12 mos. old, both feet badly burnt ( 1. foot bandaged and covered with a man's grey sock) ; dress, grev woollen jacket with bonnet to match, woollen knickers, pink frock, blue woollen jersey, It. blue woollen vest, pink socks. The body had probably been in the water about 10 days, and had the appearance of being the chjjd of canal boat people. At the inquest the Coroner stated the cause of death was pneumonia, possibly accelerated by shock from burns, and a verdict of natural causes was returned. Inf. to Supt. Tucker, West Bromwich.
