No. M/ 6524 ( no pre. con. traced), Cases Nos. 31, 3- 8- 21 and 1, 15- 7- 21, who is traversing the county of Yorkshire, APPREHENSIONS SOUGHT. METROPOLITAN POLICE DISTRICT. 2.— D Division.— For stealing ( trick) £ 100 — John Luard Ferguson, alias Charles Ward, b. 1881, 6ft., c. fresh, h. and e. brown, very thick dk. eye- brows ; dress, grey suit, trilby hat, black boots, white spats, respectable appearance. Native of Edinburgh. Advertised in the Daily Telegraph — Export merchant requires gentleman, £ 200, position trust. Loser called on Ferguson, who informed him that he was doing business in all classes of goods ( Import and Export), and produced samples of goods obtained by fraud. An agree- ment was drawn up that loser should deposit £ 100, receive £ 5 per week salary, and 10 percent, profits. Ferguson obtained the £ 100 deposit and decamped. Believed identical with Robert Bruce Anderson, alias Anderton, C. R. O. No. 219- 10, Case No. 59, Supplement A ( Vol. VIII.) for portrait, b. 1880, 6ft. liin., c. fiesh, h. It. brown, e. brown. A traveller; native of Edinburgh. Pre. con. of receiving, fraud, larceny and minor offences at TORQUAY ( Harry Stuart St. Clair), PLYMOUTH ( Robert Anderson), ST. AUSTELL ( Hector Cameron), DEVONPORT ( Harry St. Clair), ILFRACOMBE and NORTHWICH ( Robert Bruce Anderson). Warrant issued. Inf. to C. R. O. and has visited Doncaster, Sheffield, Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and Farley. He apparently remains for about a week only in a district, and before leaving, sends money to his wife in a registered letter, which does not disclose his address or intended destination. Suspicion is attached to Three Women: 1st, b. about 1876, 5ft. 1 or 2in., slim build, thin features, Jewish appearance ; dress, dk. clothes, black hat.— 2nd, b. about 1881, 5ft. 3in., stout build, c. ruddy ; dress, blue cos- tume, dk. hat.— 3rd, b. about 1901, 5ft. 5 or 6in., thin build, c. dk. sallow, pointed nose ; dress, nut brown costume with belt, nut brown stockings and shoes. Entered a shop, made enquiries about some coats, and left without making a purchase. Called again later, asked the assistant to fetch a skirt from the window, at the same time placing themselves close to where the above described coat was hanging.
