All communications for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE and Supplements A and B should. be addressed to THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE OF THE METROPOLIS. NEW SCOTLAND YARD, LONDON, S. W. 1., and enclosed in the special envelope printed for the purpose Communications for insertion in the Supplements C ( Aliens) and the Deserters List should be addressed as directed thereon. In all cases the Officer signing the request for the insertion of any announcement will be wholly responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publication. W. T. F. HORWOOD, The Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis. Information under this head concerning The National Sanatorium for Blind Adults, & c., & c., SPECIAL NOTICE and the London General Blind Relief Society is given below. WAR CHARITIES AND CHARITIES FOR THE BLIND. As some charities requiring registration under the War Charities Act, 1916, and the Blind Persons Act, 1920, have been found to employ collectors in all parts of the country, not confining their activities to the area of their Registration Authority, it has become apparent that all Police Forces should be notified when these charities are either refused registration or, being registered, are removed from the register of a Registration Authority. This is not adequately ensured by the public notification which the Registration Authorities are required to give under Section 5 of the War Charities Act— which also applies to Charities for the Blind. The Charity Commissioners have therefore arranged to notify the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis of all such action by the Registration Authorities with a view to its circulation to all Police Forces in the Police Gazette. The following Charities have been refused registration under the Blind Persons Act, 1920, by the London County Council:— ( 1) The London General Blind Relief Society, with administrative headquarters at 4, Bloomsbury- square, W. C. ( 2) The National Sanatorium for Blind Adults, Ramsgate, also known as the East Kent Workshops for the Blind, Ramsgate, and as the National Sanatorium and East Kent Workshops for Blind Adults, Ramsgate, and as the Blind Institute Fund. This Charity is an off- shoot of the Blind Aid Society ( administrative headquarters 28, Bessborough- gardens, Westminster, S. W. I), into the conduct of which the Charity Commissioners are now making enquiry— under Section 7 of the War Charities Act, 1916, as applied by the Blind Persons Act of 1920. 6 THE POLICE GAZETTE.
