CONFIDENTIAL, Supplement B. THE POLICE GAZETTE FRIDAY, JUNE 26TH, 1914. No. 26, VOL. I. Convicts on Licence, persons under Police Supervision and others whose apprehensions are sought for failing to comply with the requirements of the Prevention of Crimes Acts, and the Prisoners ( Temporary Discharge for 111 Health) Act, 1913. Those bearing names marked thus * are Licence Holders, and should produce their licences. The first condition of a licence is that the holder shall preserve it and produce it when called upon by a Magistrate or Police Officer; but it should be distinctly understood that a Licence Holder is not required to carry his licence upon him. Before preferring a charge of failing to produce a licence, it should be ascertained what the defaulter has to say, vide Sec. 5, Sub- sec. 1, 27 & 28 Vict., cap. 47, which requires a Licence Holder to produce his licence or show some reasonable excuse why he does nut produce the same. N. B.— When a circulation ; s cancelled, the printed matter relating to the person in question might be ruled through in red ink, without defacing the portrait. No. 220- 04, age 45, ht. 5ft. 6^ in., c. fresh, h. dk. brown ( going bald), e. brown, mole rt. cheek, clasped hands, heart and 3 aots back rt., bracelet back 1. wrist, thistle web rt., bust of woman base 1. thumb. Sentenced at Monmouth Assizes, 21.2.1910, to 5 yrs.' pen. ( and remanet of former sentence) and 5 yrs.' detn. ( quashed by Court of Criminal Appeal) for larceny and being a habitual criminal. Liberated on licence, 6.4.1914, to Porth, which expires 7.11.1915. Failed to report his change of address to police at Tonypandy, 9tli inst. Has pre. cons, of burglary shopbreaking, larceny— lodgings, arson, attempted unnatural offence, etc., and is known to police at Chepstow, winchester, Penrith, ystrad, Berkeley, Liverpool, and Chorley. May be dealt with where found. 224. Mansfield ( County). WEST, HENRY, aliases, WlLLIAM JOHN WHITMAN, FREDERICK WILSON, and HARRY WEST, C. R. O. No. 2904- 98 ( 111. Cir. 110, figure 20), age 53, ht. 5ft, 7Jin., c. sallow, h. ( bald) and e. grey. Sentenced at Northampton Sess., 11.4.1912, to 18 mos.' impt. and 3 yrs.' supn., for larceny. Liberated to Northampton, 12.7.1913. Failed to notify his change of address to police at Kirby- in- Ashfield, 16th inst. Formerly a railway employee, he knows where it is customary for signalmen to place the key of the signal box when going off duty. Watches his opportunity, admits himself, aud steals clothing, etc., which he usually disposes of to canal boat- men. Known to police at Aylesbury, Preston, war- wick, Coventry, Northampton, Market Harboro'. Wolverhampton, Daventry, and on A' Divn. Met. Pol. Information to Supt. Rodgers, Mansfield. 225. Rotherham ( Borough). NOYLAND, WILLIAM, aliases, WILLIAM KELLY, and PATRICK SULLIVAN, C. R. O. No. 936- 06, age 50, ht. 5ft. 5£ in., c. fresh, h. dk. brown ( turning grey, thin), e. hazel, scar bridge of nose, which has been broken, over rt. eyebrow, and on 1. cheek, large scar 1. of forehead. Sentenced at Rotherham Sess., 5.11.1908, to 5 yrs.' pen. for housebreaking. Liberated on 2nd licence, 5.6.1914, to Rotherham, which expires 19.9.1914. Left his registered address without reporting about 8th inst., and has not since been seen. Pre. cons, of burglary, wounding, larceny— dwelling, etc. Known to police at Rotherham, York, Scar- borough, Driffield, and Beverley. May be dealt with where found. APPREHENSION SOUCHT. 226. GEORGE HAMMETT, C. R. O. No. S/ 141794. Case No. 75, not now wanted. APPREHENSIONS. 227. FREDERICK HADF1ELD NAYLOR, C. R. O. No. 1536- 13, Case No. 125, was sentenced at Man- chester Pol. Ct., 17.6.1914, to 3 mos.' impt. for tailing to report. 229. 228. THOMAS McCLYMONT, C. R. O. No. S/ 83854 ( S. C. R. No. 302- 13), Case No. 144, is remanded at tladcliffe, as JOHN O'BRYAN, on a charge of housebreaking. HARRY JOHNSON, C. R. O. No. S/ 168998, Case No. 19, was fined 20s., as HENRY JOHN- SON, at Marlborough St. Pol. Ct., L., 15.6.1911, for obstructing police. Persons Licensed from a Borstal Institution. 230- Criminal Record Office. For failing to comply with the conditions of his licence, which has been revoked. EDWARD LARRY, aliases, EDWARD JAMES PARRY and ALBERT EDWARD PARRY, C. R. O. No. detn. in a Borstal Institution, for larceny. Released on licence, 12.5.1914, to the care of the Borstal Association. If arrested a telegram or telephonic communica- tion should be sent to the Governor, Pentonvills Prison, who will send an escort for him. S/ 143158, age 21, ht. 5ft. 5in., c. fresh, h. It. Not to be arrested after 4.1.1915. brown, e. grey, clasped hands, heart and M E rt.. Known to police at Birkenhead, Liscard, Chester flowers, MAY and TED 1. forearm. and Rhyl.
