Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will be inserted in one issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. 3. Particulars as to stolen propi rty will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. 4. In all cases where a reward is offered, the name and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions must he clearly stated. •' 5. Portraits of Persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences will be inserted at a cost of 8. s. per portrait, anil engravings of stolen property at a cost of 6s. per photograph or sketch, unless the article is iargi or unusually intricate, when the charge will be higher. A remittance of 6s. should be made in the first instance for cost of engraving sketches. 6. Every announcement, if for tin apprehension of a person, must be guaran- teed by the signature of an officer of not less rank than Superintendent; and if the name of such person is required to be inserted and no warrant is in force against him, the requisition must be signed by the chief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case may be. 7. Announcements concerning stolin property must he guaranteed by an officer of not less rank than Inspector, or tinoloi/ av* thereto. » JES C3-' XT ] L . A. 1T JIOIST S. 8. Announcements of all persons to be apprehended or of stolen property bear a number, and as far as practicable they are alphabetically arranged by counties. 9. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquents or stolen pro- perty to be inserted in the POLICE GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the Editor notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement for insertion in the next issue. 10. In all cases the officer signing the request for the insertion of any announce- ment will be wholly responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publication. 11. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwarded so as to be re- ceived not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They must be clearly written on one side of the paper only; they must be in the usual form, and accompanied by a covering letter. 12. All payments must be in advance, either at the office, New Scotland Yard, by Postal Order, or by Post Office Order, payable at Parliament Street Post Office. 13. The space being limited, announcements concerning " Missing Persons" are only accepted on payment, but insertion in the next or any subsequent issue cannot be guaranteed. The charge for such insertion ( if accepted) will be given on application. 14. All copics of the POLICE GAZETTE re- transmitted by Police Forces should be prepaid at the ordinary rate for printed matter sent by post within the United Kingdom. GLOUCESTERSHIRE. 26.— Staple Hill ( County).— For obtaining food and lodgings by false pretences at Mangots- field, 5th inst.— GEORGE HARRIS, age about 23, height 5 ft. 9 or 10 ins., complexion fresh, hair ( curly in front) dark brown, one front upper tooth missing; dress, dark grey suit, brown cap, brown boots. A street organ grinder and hawks mock jewellery; was accompanied by a man with one leg missing. Supposed a native of Manchester. Late of Moister Road, Blackpool.
