All communications for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, and all communica- tions relating to them, should be addressed to THE EDITOR OF THE POLICE GAZETTE, NEW SCOTLAND YARD, LONDON, S. W. 2. Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will be inserted in one issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. 3. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. 4. In all cases where a reward is offered, the name and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions must be clearly stated. 6. Portraits of Persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences will be inserted at a cost of 8s. per portrait, and engravings of stolen property at a cost of 6s. per photograph or sketch, unless the article is large or unusually intricate, when the charge will be higher. A remittance of 6s. should be made in the first instance for cost of engraving sketches. 6. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by the signature of an officer of not less rcmk than Superintendent; and if the name of sueh person is required to be inserted and no warrant is in force against him, the requisition must be signed by the chief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case may be. 7. Announcements concerning stolen property must be guaranteed by an officer of not less rank than Inspector, or analogous thereto. 9. 10. 8. Announcements of all persons to be apprehended or of stolen property bear a number, and as far as practicable they are alphabetically arranged by counties. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquents or stolen property to be inserted in the POLICE GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the Editor notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement for insertion in the next issue. In all cases the officer signing the request for the insertion of any announce- ment will be wholly responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publication. 11. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwarded so as to be received not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They must be clearly written on one side of the paper only; they must be in the usual form, and accompanied by a covering letter. 12. All payments must be in advance, either at the office, New Scotland Yard, by Postal Order, or by Post Office Order, payable at Parliament Street Post Office. The Space being limited, announcements concerning " Missing Persons" art only accepted on payment, but insertion in the next or any subsequent issue cannot be guaranteed. The charge for such insertion ( if accepted) will be given on application. All copies of the POLICE GAZETTE re- transmitted by Police Forces should be prepaid at the ordinary rate for printed matter sent by post within the United Kingdom. DERBYSHIRE. 9.—/ / k e S t O n ( County).— For causing grievous bodily harm to a gamekeeper at Mapper- ley, 23rd ult.— ALBERT DISNEY, age 30, height 5 ft. 8£ ins., complexion fresh, hair and eyes brown, half of first finger left hand missing. Is a notor- ious poacher and thief. Well known at Rotherham and South Yorkshire. A native of Ilkeston. Warrant issued. Information to Supt. Daybell, Ilkeston. ESSEX. 10.— Chelmsford ( County).— For stealing from his lodgings, a lady's large old fashioned silver watch, engraved on back, small piece mis- sing from face.— BILLY C. JONES, age 30 to 40, height 5 ft. 5 or 6 ins., slight build, complexion pale, round face, hair brown; dress, black suit, rather shabby, dark cap. An electrical engineer; supposed a native of London. Stated he was em- ployed at Marconi's wireless telegraphy works. Is believed travelling Lancashire and Cheshire, ac- companied by his wife ( not wanted), age about 24, height 5 ft. ins., and two children. Warrant issued. Nottingham ( City).— For failing to report, licence holder URIAH BLAIR BEAN, Office No. 477- 11, age 31, height 5 ft. 9 ins., com- plexion fresh, hair brown, eyes blue, scar left temple, scar, mole and wart left back of neck, scar right thumb, right first finger and knuckle left ring finger. An old metal dealer; native of Chesterfield. Sentenced Lincoln Assizes, 23rd November, 1905, to 7 years' penal servitude for rape; licensed 20th March, 1911. f. 481. A native of Nottingham. Sentenced Nottingham City Sessions, 10th February, 1910, to 15 months' hard labour and 2 years' police supervision for larceny; liberated 17th February, 1911- 1913. He takes a house in a growing district, keeps a servant, and poses as a man of means, enters into negotiations to purchase land on a lease for building purposes, he commences to build, but obtains all the ma- terials, etc., on credit, some of which he sells.
