All communications for insertion in the POLICB GAZETTE, and all communica- tions relating to them, should be addressed to TUB EDITOR OF THE POLICE GAZETTE, NEW SCOTLAND YAIID, LONDON, S. W. 2. Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will be inserted m one issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. 3. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. 4. In all cases where a reward is offered, the name and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions must be clearly stated. 5. Portraits of Persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences will be inserted at a cost of 8s. per portrait, and engravings of stolen property at a cost of Ga. per photograph or sketch, unless the article is large or unusually intricate, when the charge will be higher. A remittance of 6j. should be made in the first instance for cost of engraving sketches. 6. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by the signature of an officer of not less rank than Superintendent; and if the name of . such person is required to be inserted and no warrant is in force against him, the requisition must be signed by the chief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case may be. 7. Announcements concerning stolen property must be guaranteed by an officer of not less rank than Inspector, or analogous thereto. 8. Announcements of all persons te be apprehended or of stolen property bear m number, and as far as practicable they are alphabetically arranged by counties. 9. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquents or stolen property to be inserted in the POLICE GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the Editor notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement for insertion in the next issue. In all cases the officer signing the request for the insertion of any announce- ment will be wholly responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publication. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwarded so as to be received not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They must be clearly written on one side of the paper only; they must be in the usual form, and accompanied by a covering letter. All payments must be in advance, either at the office, New Scotland Yard, ba Postal Order, or by Post Office Order, payable at Parliament Street Post Office. 13. The Space being limited, announcements concerning " Missing Persons " are only accepted on payment, but insertion in the next or any subsequent issue cannot be guaranteed. The charge for such insertion ( if accepted) will be given on application. 14. All copies of the POLICE GAZETTE re- transmitted by Police Forces should bt prepaid at the ordinary rate for printed matter sent by post within the United Kingdom. Warrant issued. 3.— Y DivisionB— For cattle maiming ( cut ting a pig's throat)— THOMAS STRATTON, „ office No. 304- 05, age 44, height 5 ft. 7 in., com- plexion fresh, hair ( thin on top) dark brown, eyes blue, mermaid, woman and flags right forearm, bust of woman, man, tree, and rose left forearm; dress, dark overcoat, dark cord trousers, and dark cap, native of New Southgate, London. May be tramping the country. Information to be forwarded to the Metropolitan Police Office, New Scotland Yard, S. W. BERKSHIRE. 4.— Windsor ( iforough).— For obtaining 10s. by false pretences, 21st ult.— S. DONAGAN, age 32 to 40, height 5 ft. 8 or 9 in., inclined to stout build, hair light brown, moustache ligbt; dress, blue serge suit, believed mauve tie, bowler hat, sup- posed brown boots, carried an old pair of brown kid gloves; believed to liave a bicycle in liis possession. He called on ex- officers of the Royal Engineers liv- ing in this district, and stated he was practising as an architect and surveyor at Leeds, that in conse- quence of depression in the building trade his busi- ness had gone down, and he had been to Portsmouth and Southampton to obtain work as a draughts- man at the new docks, had run short of cash, and asked for enough to pay his fare back to Leeds. BUCK INC HA MS HI RE. 5. — High Wvcombe ( Borough). — For stealing from his lodgings, 25tli ult., a blue suit ( recovered), a greenish brown reefer overcoat, with blue stripes, strap at back and wrists, black mush- room buttons, nearly new— SIDNEY ALLEN, age about 30, height about 5 ft. 8 in., slight build, complexion fresh, hair light brown, clean shaved; dress, light brown coat and vest, dark trousers, brown cap, lace boots. A comedian. For some weeks has acted as a pedlar, and may be found selling Rimmel's Peratia Sachet in penny packets, which he carries in a brown bag. Warrant issued. CA RNA R VONSHIRE. 6. — Bangor ( County). — For non- payment of £ 26 10s. maintenance arrears— DONALD ROBERT WATSON DRUMMOND, age 52, height 5ft. 6£ in., complexion fresh, hair and mous- tache brown, eyes blue, large scar right of fore- head, and third left finger, mole right cheek. A musical instrument dealer, native of Inverness. Photograph can be seen on application. Warrant issued. Information to Supt. Guest, Bangor. CHESHIRE. 7. — Congleton ( Borough). — For stealing ( bailee) 6th ult., 2 silk skirts ( recovered)— MARY FITZPATRICK, alias HARRIS, age 40 to 45, height 5 ft. 3 or 4 in., complexion fresh, sharp features, hair dark; dress, dark golf cape, dark skirt, heliotrope felt hat trimmed quill, grey fur necklet. A dressmaker, native of Dub- lin. Is accompanied by A MAN ( not wanted), age 40 to 45, height 5 ft. 6 or 7 in., hair and moustache dark brown, turning grey; dress, blue serge jacket and vest, light fustian trousers ( tight fitting below knee), cap, strong lace boots. A native of Whitchurch. Warrant issued. Information to the Chief Constable, Congleton. DERBYSHIRE. 8.— Alfroton ( County).— For stealing from his lodgings at Blackwell, 24th ult., a gold medal — ' Alfreton Town Football Club" engraved on back; 1 ditto " Blackwell Football Club " engraved there- on; 1 silver watch guard, curb pattern, silver medal attached— WILLIAM TONKS, age 26, height 5 ft. 7 or 8 in., square shoulders, complexion, hair and moustache dark, of smart appearance; dress, dark jacket and vest, light grey trousers, brown muffler with white stripes, light button boots. A native of Dawley Green, Shropshire. Had in his possession a pawnticket relating to two medals pledged in Shropshire. He took lodgings, 18th ult., obtained work at a colliery for a week, and absconded 24th ult. Warrant issued. Information to Supt. McLarty, Alfreton. ESSEX. Braintree ( County).— For stealing a green striped overcoat, plain back, bone buttons, patch pockets, 1 fancy shirt, green striped, 14th ult., FREDERICK WALTERS, age 25 to 30, height 5 ft. 7 or 8 ins., complexion fair, hair light brown, moustache light, tattooed both wrists; dress blue serge suit, 2 vests ( 1 light fancy), black hard felt hat, green bow tie, and probably the stolen clothing. An agent, native of Braintree. Was employed by the English Record Co., Ltd., Lon- don and Gravesend, and at Braintree for a few days for the sale of gramophones. Warrant issued. Information to Supt. Cowell, Braintree. 10.— Chelmsforrf ( County).— For stealing ( bailee), 16th ult., a bicycle, 22 in. frame, up- turned handle bars, Warwick tyres, 2 roller brakes, " C. I." in white enamel on bar under saddle, " Times " transfer on head and mudguards, " New- combe. GLAMORGANSHIRE. 12- — Neath { County). — For obtaining at Llansamlet, 15th ult., a chestnut horse, 5 years, 15 hands 1 or 2 ins., small white star on forehead', faint streak on right nostril, 2 white socks hind feet, off fore- fetlock white, docked tail, full black mane, by a worthless cheque on the London and South- Western Bank, Ltd., Bloomsbury Branch, No. A- 076750, signed Poulton & Harrison, Ltd'. Was returned marked " No Account'— A. MOR- RISON ( probably false), a Jew, age about 30. height 5 ft. 6 ins. or 7 ins., light build, complexion fresh, clean shaved; dress, navy blue suit, tight fitting, bowler hat, lace boots. " He answered an advertisement, and in reply received a communica- tion on a printed memorandum of Poulton & Har- rison, Ltd., Sauce and Speciality Manufacturers, 29, Lowndes Square, London, S. W., district agent, A. Morrison, 25, Belle View Street, Swansea, mak- ing an appointment to view his horse on 14th inst., which was certified by a veterinary surgeon to be sound. Morrison made the purchase paid for same the following day, and took the horse away; was accompanied by a man, age about 40, height 5 ft. 8 or 9 ins., thick set, complexion, hair and moustache dark, wearing dark overcoat and bowler hat. They booked to Cardiff" on 16th ult. Warrant issued. Information to Supt. Williams, Neath. 13.— Treharris ( County).— For obtaining 3 horses by a fraudulent cheque— A MAN, who gave the name of A. S. MARTIN, age 45 to 50, height 5 ft. 8 or 9 ins., complexion slightly tanned, hair darK brown, moustache ( rather long) light brown, teeth much decayed and black, of smart appearance; dress, dark tweed overcoat, blue serge suit, bowler hat, brown leather gloves, carried a silver- mounted umbrella. On 10th inst. he purchased 2 bay cob mares, one 15 hands 1 in., 4 years, off hind foot white, white star on forehead, right hock capped slightly; one 14 hands 2 ins., rising 6 years, thick set, hind feet white, both hocks capped, slightly stiff in front; also a third horse. They were boxed at Cardiff for Paddington Station, consigned to G. Wilmore & Co., 117, Golden Lane, London, E. C., advertisers, specialists, and contractors. The cheque for £ 58 was drawn on the London & South- Western Bank, Bloo'msbury Branch, No. A076748, crossed and signed G. Wilmore & Co., and has been returned marked " No account." Warrant issued. Gill, Treharris. 11 - Cardiff ( City).— For obtaining money by false pretences— DAVID MONK, age about 50, height 6 ft. 2 or 3 ins., weight about 21 stones, strong build, complexion fresh, full face, hair light brown, slight moustache light, left eye small and half- closed, wears anchor- shape earrings; dress, navy blue reefer jacket and vest, dark plaid trou- sers, light silk muffler with blue spots, bowler hat, heavy nailed boots, nearly new. A navvy's fore- man. He represented himself as agent for a firm of contractors who had obtained a large contract in the city. Is also wanted at Goole, Yorkshire. See portrait Case No. 35, 13th May, 1910. Warrant issued. 15.— Cardiff ( City).— For stealing jewellery — THOMAS HENRY WALMSLEY, age 30, height 5 ft. 8 ins., slight build, complexion and liair dark. A dock labourer, native of Cardiff. Warrant issued. Information to the Head Constable, Cardiff. muffler, or navy blue suit. A coalman, native of Hereford. He left here 23rd January last with a man ( not wanted) who is employed by Hills, round- about proprietors, etc., of Dursley, or may be found in South Wales colliery district. Warrant issued. For stealing at Kimbolton, 8th ult., a silver English lever watch No. 45080, makers, Leicester Watch Co., London, silver curb chain attached— A MAN, age about 24, height 5 ft. 7 or 8 in., complexion and hair darkj, dress, dark jacket suit and cap, dark blue muffler, lace boots; stated he was a carpenter, and was go- ing to Birkenhead; had with him a bicycle. Information to Supt. Rooke, Leominster. LANCASHIRE. 19.— Bootle ( Borough).— For stealing from his lodgings, 25th ult, a lady's 22ct. gold watch, gold dial and numerals, steel hands, engraved cases; 1 silver matchbox, fluted, ring attached; 1 lady's 18ct. gold signet ring, initials " E. D. S." engraved thereon— H. C. LOVETT, age about 55, height 5 ft. 3 in., stout build, complexion fresh, hair ( thin on top), moustache ( waxed) and beard ( cut close and to a point), grey, scar left side of nose, of good address, slight German accent; dress, green tweed overcoat, green buttons, strap at back, blue serge jacket and trousers, green woollen vest, striped pattern, green silk tie, gold pin set large turquoise, lace boots, gold curb albert with trinket ( supposed masonic charm) in centre; had with him two pairs of glasses ( 1 with gold rims, other steel). Stated he was an engineer on the S. S. Columbia, and had been employed by the Pacific Steam Navi- gation Co. 35 years; had cards with " H. C. Lovett, Civil Engineer, New York, U. S. A." thereon. Left behind a nickel- plated self- igniting pipe lighter. Warrant issued. Information to the Chief Constable, Bootle. Stated he was a clerk iu the employ of the Offi- cial Receiver, Hereford. SOMERSE TSHIRE. 24.— Glastonbury ( County). — For stealing an old silver English lever watch. - EDWARD LEE, Office No. 1488- 02, age 48, height 5 ft. ins., complexion sallow, hair ( going bald) and moustache dark brown, eyes grey, scar on forehead and both eye- brows, mole right cheek, right little finger amputated it third joint, scar back of third joint left middle finger; dress, dark double- breasted pilot jacket, dark trousers, dark tweed cap. A native of Parbrook, Somersetshire. Warrant Information to Supt. Sparkes, Glastonbury. 25.— Bath ( City),— For stealing ( bailee) 10s. 15th ult.— ERNEST WALDRON, « /< « , WALDON and LEE, age 32, height 5 ft. 6 in., complexion fresh, hair and eyes brown, clean shaved, cut scar left eyebrow, right hand, small scar right cheek and right arm, one right finger drawn towards palm; dress, dark jacket and vest, cord trousers, cap, and muffler. Deceased. 21.— Risca ( County). — For obtaining, 18th ult., at Rogerstone, by a worthless cheque, A/ O 98720, High Holborn Branch, London County and Westminster Bank, Ltd., signed Cook, Frean & Co. which was returned marked " No account," a black cart gelding, 6 years, 16 hands 2 in., face and off hind fetlock white, little white on near hind fet- lock, black mane and tail, docked rather short, rather light body, long legs, near hind leg inclined to twist when walking, 2 slight sand cracks near fore foot, one on off fore foot— J. SWIFT ( probably false), age about 30, height 5 ft. 6 or 7 in, slight build, complexion fresh, clean shaved, of Jewish appearance; dress, dark overcoat, dark serge suit black bowler hat. The owner received a type- written letter from Cooke, Frean & Co., London asking if the horse was unsold, to communi cate with their agent, J. Swift, Newport, who pur chased the horse for £ 50, and in payment gave the above- described cheque; the animal was taken to Marshfield by Swift, and there met A MAN, age 36 height 5 ft. 6 or 7 in., good build, hair ( curly) dark, moustache dark brown, of Jewish appear- ance, who booked the horse and three others to Reading in name of Robinson, and from there by road in the direction of London on 19th ult.
