All communications for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, and all communications relating to them, should be addressed to THE EDITOR OE THE POLICE GAZETTE NEW SCOTLAND YARD, LONDON, S . W . 2. Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will be inserted in one issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. 3. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. 4. In all cases where a reward is offered, the name and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions must be clearly stated. 5. Portraits of persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences will be inserted at a cost of 8s. per portrait, and engravings of stolen property at a cost of 6s. per photograph or sketch, unless the article is large or unusually intricate, when the charge will be higher. A remittance of 6?. should be made in the first instance for cost of engraving sketches. 6. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by the signature of an officer of not less rank than Superintendent; and if the name of such person is required to be inserted and ho warrant is in force against him, the requisition must be signed by the chief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case may be. 7. Announcements concerning stolen property must be guaranteed by an officer of not less rank than Inspector, or analogous thereto R B G t J L A T I O K T S , AZTZ T S J " ItPfr° n* t0 l, e aPPrehended or of stolen property bear a number, and as far as practicable they are alphabetically arranged by counties 1,16 which causes particulars concerning delinquents or stolen property to be inserted in the POLICE GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the Editor notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement Jor insertion in the next issue. 10. In all cases the officer signing the request for the insertion of any announcement will be wholly responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publication. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwarded so as to be received not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning They must be clearly written on one side of the paper only ; they must be in the usual form , and accompanied by a covering letter. She travels the country in a caravan, painted yellow, accompanied by her husband and 5 children ( 3 girls and 2 boys). She calls on servants, offers lace for sale, then pretends to tell their fortunes, and induces them to part with money to put on ( what she describes) as their planets. Has served in the army, and is believed a reservist, is in possession of a South African war medal and a 11 .— Crewe ( County).— For wilfully and indecently exposing his person to female children at Sydney, Crewe, 28th ult.— THOMAS JONES, age 29 ( looks older), height 5 ft. 5 or 6 i n , slight build, complexion sallow, hair black, walks lame ( left leg), supposed result of diseased hip. A native of Handsworth, Staffordshire. Dress, greyish jacket and vest, dark trousers and cap, white muffler, old boots. All the clothing is dirty and far worn. He has several times been employed by a roundabout proprietor as waterman and for six weeks prior to the end of July he obtained his livelihood by gathering rags, and stayed at a common lodging - house in Crewe. Suspected of committing similar offences. Warrant issued. Information to Supt. Appears to be pregnant, and had with her a child about 15 months old, wearing a white and brown beaver hat. Supposed a native of Nelson, Lanes. Warrant issued. 13.— Liscard ( County).— For stealing about £ 6 from his lodgings— JAMES BURGESS, age 40, height 6 f t , complexion fresh, hair ( rather wavy on top, turning grey at sides) and moustache brown, 1 left upper tooth missing, walks erect, has a habit of biting his bottom. lip when in conversation; dress, ! lavender and black suit, black knitted tie, laundry mark " B. 319 " on collar, black hard felt hat with narrow brim, lace boots. Supposed a native of Girton, near Hyde, Warrant issued. Information to the Supt. Hoole, Macclesfield. DERBYSHIRE. 15.— Renishaw ( County).— For stealing, 6th inst, at Dore, a Raleigh bicycle, Eadie hub, No. 200788 on frame under saddle, silver plated handlebars, 26 in. wheels, 22 in. frame, Palmer tyres, front rim brake, No. 601588 thereon, back pedalling brake, weight about 27 lbs, nearly new, tool bag ( fastened to machine with new strap), silver plated oil lamp, cape attached.— WILLIAM LEE, age about 33, height 5 ft. 8 or 9 i n , rather stiff build, complexion fair, hair brown, moustache light curly, smart appearance ; dress, brown coat, vest and trousers, cap, white muffler, very old boots. About 4 months ago he rented a refreshment house, and on 30th J uly obtained large quantities of crockery and cutlery on hire for the Bank Holiday, and immediately disposed of same. Is accompanied by his wife, age 26, short, hair dark, and a girl age 3 or 4 years. Is believed an undischarged bankrupt. Warrant issued. Not to be arrested out of the United Kingdom. She called at a house, stated she was the widow of a sergeant of the Lancers LANCASHIRE. 2 6 . — Liverpool ( City).— For embezzlement— GEORGE R. CURSON, age 32, height 5 ft. 9 or 10 in., good build, hair ( nearly bald in front) and Warrant issued. Not to be arrested out of the United Kingdom. LANCASHIRE. 29.— Bury ( County).— For stealing, 3rd inst., a bicycle ( recovered)— A MAN, age about 20, height 5 ft. 4 in., complexion fresh, hair brown, eyes blue, clasped hands, flag, Agnes, and several indistinct marks right forearm, female in tights, W. L. left forearm, indistinct marks on 2 left middle fingers, cut mark left side of head. Appearance of a tramp, stated he had served in the 3rd Scottish Borderers ( Militia). He was released from custody at Middleton, 12th inst., where he had been detained on suspicion of stealing the bicycle. Information to Supt.
