All communications for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, and all communi- cations relating to them, should be addressed to THE EDITOR OF HI POLICE GAZETTE, NEW SCOTLAND YARD, LONDON, S. W. 2. Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will be inserted in one issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. 8. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. 4. In all cases where a reward is offered, the name and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions must be clearly stated. 6. Portraits of persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences, and engravings of stolen property, will be inserted at a cost of 7s. per portrait, and of os. per photograph or skctcli of a stolen article, unless the article is large or unusually intricate, when the eiignit er's charge will range from 5s to 10s. .4. remittance of 5s. should be made in the first instance for cost of engraving sketches. 6. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by the signature of uii officer of nut less rank than Superintendent; and if tht name of such person is required to be inserted and no warrant is in Ic. rcc against him, the requisition must be signed by the chief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case may be. 8. 10. 11 1- 2. 13 Announcements concerning stolen property must be guaranteed by an oficer of not lets rank than Inspector, or analogous thereto. Announcements of all persons to be apprehended or of stolen property bear a number, and as far as practicable they are alphabetically arranged by counties. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquents or stolen property to be inserted in the POLICE GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the Editor notice of the fact, rcjernng to the number of the announcement, for insertion in the next issue. In all cases the officer signing the request for the insertion of any annown e- ment will be wholly responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publication. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwarded sc as to be received not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the ' Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They must be clearly written on one side of the paper only; they must be in the usual form, and accompanied by a covering litter. All payments must be in advance, either at the office, New Scotland Yard, by Postal Order, or by Post Office Order, payable at Parliament Street Post Office. The Space being limited, announcements concerning " Missing Persons " are only accepted on payment, but insertion in the next or any subsequent issue cannot be guaranteed. COLLEDGE, age 25, height 5 ft. 9J in., complexion fresh, hair brown, clean shaved, eyes dark, of good address, hesitating speech. Has served in the Army. Believed a native of Luton. Now follows the occupation of an actor. He used a cheque, No. 0 over 1, 30 over R. 025797, on Barclay & Co.' s Bank, 171 Brompton Road, London, taken from a book lost by a cus- tomer. Warrant issued. 19 — Cheltenham ( County).— For failing to report— Supervisee JANE JAKEWAY, Office No. 1381- 05, age 36, height 5 ft. 2 in., complexion fresh, hair light brown, eyes brown, scar both cheeks. A native of Cheltenham. Sentenoed at Gloucester Sessions, 2nd January, 1907, to 6 months hard labour and 2 years supervision for false pretences. Liberated 1st July, 1907. 722. He took lodgings, 2nd inst., stating he was a tailor's cutter in the employ of a Cheltenham firm, and had been transferred to their branch in Bristol. Absconded 3rd inst. Warrant issued. HAMPSHIRE. 22.— Aldershot ( County).— For stealing, 5th inst., a " New Hudson " bicycle, " No. 134 " on head, 25 in. frame, black enamelled, red lined, 26 in. wheels, North Road handle bars, 2 inverted lever brakes, rubber pedals, " New Hudson " tyres, mudguards, Coventry saddle, regimental crest on down tube " Hudson" transfer on head, tool bag with owner's name and address, " Amos Edwards," thereon— JOHN BARCHELL, age 19, height 5 ft. 6 in., complexion fresh, hair brown, eyes grey; wearing khaki uniform and putties. Warrant issued. 24.— Bournemouth ( County).— For stealing, 15th ult., 6 yards of sheeting ( recovered)— EMILY WATTS, alias LOUISA WATTS and MARY WALLACE, Office No. 2126- 04, age 45, height 5 ft. 2£ in., stout build, complexion dark, full face, hair dark brown, eyes hazel, mole right cheek, ears pierced, addicted to drink; dress, dark skirt, dark grey three- quarter length cloak, black scarf, blue straw hat, trimmed ribbon, occasionally wears a black veil. A cook; native of Southamp- ton. Sometimes gives the name of Ward or May, and may endeavour to obtain a situation through a Registry Office. Information to Supt. Hack, Bournemouth. HERTFORDSHIRE . io.— Hitchin ( County). — For stealing 10 turkeys, 10th ult.— GEORGE STEPHEN DOBBS, age about 25, height 6 ft., slight build, complexion, hair, slight moustache and eyes dark, thin features. A native of Edmonton, Middlesex. He associates with low- class dealers and coster- mongers, and will probably be found travelling country fairs, assisting with a fish or fruit stall. Warrant issued. Information to the Deputy Chief Constable, Hitchin. LANCASHIRE. 26.— Liverpool ( City).— For obtaining £ 1 15s. by false pretences, 23rd ult.— A. C. GOOD- WIN, age about 40, height about 5 ft. 9 in., good build, complexion pale, hair and moustache ( waxed at end) dark, prominent nose; dress, light grey jacket suit, hard hat. He calls on medical men who own motor cars, and sells sparking plugs, which are found to be useless. Warrant issued. Information to the Head Constable. Liverpool. 27.— Manchester ( City).— For failing to Ueport— Licence- holder JAMES JOHNSON, alias GREGORY, Office No. 3269- 01, age 65, height 5 ft. 3f in., complexion pale, hair grey, eyes dark blue, birth mark back of neck, lump left elbow. A carpenter; native of Manchester. Sentenced at Liverpool Assizes, 5th May, 1906, to 3 years penal servitude for burglary. Licensed 5 th August last. N g 119. To be dealt with where found. Information to the Chief Constable, Manchester. 28.- Warrington ( Borough).— For stealing, 30th ult., £ 40 in silver— THOMAS CRAWFORD, age 26, height 5 ft. 5 in., slight build, thin face, hair light, clean shaved, long nose, 1st joint one middle finger deficient; dress, black suit and tie, dark cap. A tramway conductor. Fond of billiards, cards, & c. Absconded 1st inst. May en- deavour to leave the country. Warrant issued. Information to the Chief Constable, Warrington. LINCOLNSHIRE. 29 — Spalding ( County).— For stealing £ 13 from his lodgings, 29th ult.— FRED WILLIS, alias HERBERT BULLOCK, GREENWOOD, HAR- RISON, and Ir- MITH, age about 24, height 5 ft. 6 or 7 in., complexion fresh, hair dark, clean shaved, bold eyes, large prominent nose, thick upper lip, Yorkshire accent; dress, bluish check or dark green suit, light cap, small bow tie, new lace boots. Represented himself to be a railway clerk transferred from Boston to Spalding. Pre- viously convicted at Bradford, Peterborough, Grantham, Cambridge, and Sheffield. Warrant issued. MONMOUTHSHIRE. 30.— Abergavenny ( County).— For stealing a Scotch terrier bitch pupnv, age 6 months, black, long body, tail and face, very low on legs, valu- able— WILLIAM BAKER, age 40 to 45, height 5 ft. 8 in., complexion, hair and moustuche dark, thumb and 2 fingers of one hand missing; dress, blue pilot cloth jacket, large pocket inside, moleskin trousers, cap, blue striped neckerchief, nailed boots.
