AIL communications for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, and all communi- cations relating to them, should be addressed to THE EDITOR OF THE POLICE GAZETTE, NEW SCOTLAND YARD, LONDON, S. W. 2. Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will be inserted in one issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. 8. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. 4. In all nisei where a reward is offered, the name and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions must be clearly stated. fi. Portraits of persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences, and engravings of stolen property, ivill be inserted at a cost of 7s. per portrait and of 5s. per photograph or sketch of a stolen article, unless the article i's targe or unusually intricate, when the engraver's charge will range from 5s to 10s. .4 remittance of 5s. should be made in the first instance for cost of engraving sketches. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by the signature of an officer of not less rank than Superintendent; and if the name of such person is required to be inserted and no warrant is in force against him, the requisition must be signed by the chief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough as the case may be. 6. 8. 9. TrOBTS. 7. Announcements concerning stolen property must be guaranteed by an officet of not less rank than Inspector, or analogous thereto. Announcements of all persons to be apprehended or of stolen property bear a number, and as far as practicable they are alphabetically arranged by counties. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquents or stolen property to be inserted in the POLICE GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the Editor notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement, for insertion in the next issue. In all cases the officer signing the request for the insertion of any announce- ment will be wholly responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publication. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwarded so as to be received not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They must be clearly written on one side of the paper only: they must be in the usual form, and accompanied by a covering U tter. All payments must be in advance, either at the office. New Scotland Yard, by Postal Order, or by Post Office Order, payable at Parliament Street Post Office. The Space being limited, announcements concerning " Missing Persons " are only accepted on payment, but insertion in the next or any subsequent issue cannot be guaranteed. Is believed identical with Arthur Fiske, alias A. B. Lilley, who has been several times convicted of similar offences, and whose portrait can be seen on application. Warrant issued. 6.- Chelmsford ( County).— For stealing, at Little Waltham, 25th ult., a bicycle, black en- amelled, wheels lined red, 22 in. frame, rubber pedals, Brooks' saddle, rim brakes, square handle bars, left grip missing— A MAN, age 20 to 30, height 5 ft. 6 in., clean shaved; wearing dark mixture suit and cap. GLA MO RGA NSHIRE. 7 - Mcrthyr Tydfil ( County).— For deserting his family— CHARLES FREDERICK BATEMAN, age 32, height about 5 ft. 7 in., com- plexion and hair dark, clean shaved. A profes- sional billiard player; native of Walsall. Warrant issued. A reward of 10s. will be paid by the Board of Guardians, Merthyr Tydfil, for the arrest of Bate- man. Information to Supt. GLOUCES TERSHIRE. 8.— Stroud ( County).— For obtaining money by false pretences— TWO MEN ( lst, age about 28, height 5 ft. 11 in. or 6 ft., clean shaved, of military appearance; wearing uniform of the Salvation Army and straw hat. 2nd, age 30 to 33, height 5 ft. 6 or 7 in., moustache brown; wearing uniform of Salvation Army). They called upon several gentle- men, and stated they were collecting subscriptions in connection with the visit of General Booth to the county. Both riding bicycles. Warrant issued. Sl. — Melton Mowbray ( County).— Remanded till 7th inst., charged with stealing £ 18 — WILLIAM WRIGHT, age 22, height 5 ft. 8 in., complexion fresh, hair light brown, eyes grey. A native of Tamworth. YORKSHIRE ( East Riding). 82.— Beverley ( Borough) — Sentenced, 29th ult., to 4 months imprisonment for larceny— WILLIAM WILLIS, alias RUSSELL and PARKER, age 23, height 5 ft. 8| in., slight build, complexion fair, hair brown, clean shaved, eyes blue; usually wears a blue serge suit, grey cap. Is a deserter from the Grenadier Guards. For some months he has competed in mile and half- mile races at athletic, sports in the North of England, and is believed to have entered in fictitious names. Information to the Head Constable, Beverley. PROPERTY STOLEN. METROPOLITAN POLICE DISTRICT 33.— 5 Division.— lst ult., a diamond pend- ant about the size of a 5s. piece, composed of 8 groups of 3 leaves, set diamonds, large diamond in centre surrounded by smaller do., small loop, set diamond with small platinum neck chain attached centre piece unscrews and an eight pointed star may be added between the leaves. Ap- pearance of a farmer; native of North Devon. May be found at markets selling butter and eggs or hawking same from door to door. ( See Case No. 12, 19th ult.) GL OUCES riERSWiRE. 35.— Bristol ( City).— For carnally knowing a girl under 16— JAMES LARCOMBE, a< ge 54, height about 5 ft. 8 in., hair ( turning grey) dark, short moustache dark brown, 2 or 3 scars back of head, skin at sides of neck much wrinkled, slovenly appearanoe; dress, brown cord vest and trousers. Had with him a bundle containing a greenish- grey suit, vertical pockets, a red flannelette shirt, and brown cap. Has served in the Army. A mason's labourer; native of Chard, Somerset.
