Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension ii sought will be inserted in on « issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. In all cases where a reward is offered, the name and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions must be clearly stated. b. Portraits of persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences, and ingravings of stolen property, will be inserted at a cost of 7s. per portrait, and of 5s. per photograph or sketch of a stolen article, unless the article is large or unusually intricate, when the engraver's charge will range from h to 10s. A remittance of 5s. should be made in the first instance for cost » f engraving sketches. < i. Announcements concerning stolen property must be guaranteed by an officer of not less rank than Inspector, or analogous thereto. Announcements of all persons to be apprehended or of stolen property bear a number, and as far as practicable they are alphabetically arranyed by counties. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquents or stolen property to be inserted in the POLICE GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the Editor notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement, for insertion in the next issue. In all cases the officer signing the request for the insertion of any announce- ment will be wholly responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publication. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwarded so as to be received not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They must be cleurly written on one side of the paper only: they must be in the usual form, and accompanied by a covering letter. All payments must be in advance, either at the office, New Scotland Yard, by Postal Order, or by Post Office Order, payable at Parliament Street Post Office. Tht Space being limited, announcements concerning " Missing Persons" are only accepted on payment, but insertion in the next or any subsequent issue cannot be guaranteed. MURDER. \ S.— Dundee< ( City).— For murder, 3rd innt. — CHARLES WHITE, age 26, height 5 ft. 3 in to 5 ft. 5 in., well built, hair ( curled over forehead) and slight moustache light, tattooed on both arms, flower on 1; dress, dark steel grey jacket ( the seams behind both shoulders burst), vest of different material with thin light stripes ( much too tight for him), dark trousers, wide and long, turned up two or three folds at foot, dark peak cap, light stripe round top, dark blue muffler folded across chest ( may have in his pocket a dark tweed cap, with white stripe forming octagon on top, " Keith Scott, Dundee," on inside, size 6f, new), lace boots, broad round toes, well worn. Is said to be a barber; native of Londonderry. For the past two months he resided in a labour home, Milnbank Road, Dundee, a portion of which time he was employed delivering calendars for a publishing firm in this City. Stated he had been discharged from a Welsh Regiment owing to rupture, and that he had been in many workhouses in England. He returned to the home about 8 o'clock on Friday, the night of the murder, and appears to have been In hiding until about 4 p. m. Sunday, when some of the in- mates discovered him. He was last seen in Dundee about 5 p. m., Sunday, 5th inst., and is supposed to have left the city onN tramp. He will, when on tramp, be likely to beg or steal for his sustenance, and may stay at common lodging houses, but is likely to endeavour to get into a labour home, poor- house, or some such institution to be out of public view for a time; may also endeavour to obtain casual employment, such as he had here; is said to have been employed at aluminium works near Ballachulish. Sentenced at Birmingham Quarter Sessions, 24th April, 1906, to 12 months hard labour and 2 years supervision for larceny and obtainind food, & c., by false pretences. Weymouth { Borough).— For leaving his wife and family chargeable to the Weymouth Union, 21st November, 1907— ARTHUR WIL- LIAM BUDGE, age 43, height 5 ft. 7 or 8 in., complexion fresh, hair and eyes ( rather small) dark brown, moustache light brown, walks on his heels. An outfitter's assistant; sings comic songs. Ab- sconded from Dover 7th October, 1907. Accom- GLOUGES TERSHIRE. 19.— Bristol ( City).— For obtaining £ 2 by false pretences, 3rd December, 1907— ARTHUR BEVAN, age 45 to 50, height 5 ft. 5 or 6 in., slight build, complexion dark, hair ( thin on top) grey, clean shaved; dress, dark suit, dark grey overcoat, silk hat, rather shabby appearance. He opened an account at Farrow's Bank, Cheapside, London, in September last, and received a cheque book con- taining 30 cheques. He watches local papers and on finding a licensed house to let, calls upon the licensee, states he has found a customer for the business, then gains the licensee's confidence, asks him to cash a cheque, also states he called on behalf of the agent. LANARKSHIRE, 23.— Glasgow ( City).— For stealing, be- tween 13th and 20th ult., a large quantity of house furnishings, including a marble time piece; bronze ornaments; napery; oil paintings; and a sewing machine— JOHN HENRY ( correct name supposed HENRY KLAFFEL), a Frenchman, age 35, height about 6 ft., complexion swarthy, hair an'd heavy moustache ( pointed at ends) black, eyes ( piercing) dark, wore gold- rimmed glasses, of smart appearance, an inveterate cigarette smoker, speaks good English; dress, dark overcoat, blue suit, dark felt hat. He advertises for furnished lodgings, and generally agrees to rent a house, stating that his wife is in delicate health, and requires a change of surroundings, pays the first week's rent in ad- vance, and commences to deplete the house of its plenishing. ( County).— For houst- breaking— A MAN, age 42, height 5 ft. 5 in., complexion fresh, hair dark brown, eyes grey, slight scar right side of forehead, several tattoo marks left arm, rings tattooed 2nd and 3rd left fingers. Frequents race meetings and associates with low betting men and welshers. Previously convicted at Bradford, Doncaster, Rochdale, York, Dewsbury, Saiford, Blackpool, Manchester, Car- lisle, Beverley, and Thirsk for welshing and gam- ing. Information to Supt.
