A steeplejack; native of Yorkshire. He repaired several chimneys about a month ago, and had 3 or 4 men in his employment, and stated he represented a firm of chimney and spire builders of East Ardsley, Wakefield. He booked from Annan to Maryport per Caledonian Railway, 8th June, and forwarded ladders, chains, etc., to Ul verston. A native of Belfast. He was dis- charged from the 4th Royal Irish Rifles about 5 years ago. Obtains employment as under servant at farm houses, and takes lodgings, awaits an op- portunity to commit a larceny, and absconds. He took a suite of offices in a central position in the City during April and May and carried on business as The National Association of British Art, purchased a quantity of pictures from a local dealer, and employed a few females ostensibly for the purpose of hand- colouring some of the pictures, receiving callers, and as typists.
