All communications for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, and all communi- cations relating to them, should be addressed to THE EDITOR OF THE POLICE GAZETTE, NEW SCOTLAND YARD, LONDON, S. W. 2. Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will be inserted in one issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. 3. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. 4. In all cases where a reward is offered, the name and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions must be clearly stated. 5. Portraits of persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences, and engravings of stolen property, will be inserted at a cost of 7s. per portrait, and of 5s. per photograph or sketch of a stolen article, unless the article is large or unusually intricate, when the engraver's charge will range from 5s. to 10s. A remittance of 5s. should be made in the first instance for cost of engraving sketches. 6. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by the signature of an officer of not less rank than Superintendent; and if the name of such person is required to be inserted and no warrant is in force against him, the requisition must be signed by the chief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case may be. A. TIOX S. 7. Announcements concerning stolen property must be guaranteed by an officer of not less rank than Inspector, or analogous thereto. 8. Announcements of all persons to be apprehended or of stolen property bear a number, and as far as practicable they are alphabetically arranged by counties. 9. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquents or stolen property to be inserted in the POLICE GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the Editor notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement, for insertion in the next issue. 10. In all cases the officer signing the request for the insertion of any announce- ment will be wholly responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publication. 11. Announcements for the Friday issue should be foru- arded so as to be received not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They must be clearly written on one side of the paper only; they must be in the usual form, and accompanied by a covering letter. 12. All payments must be in advance, either at the office, yew Scotland Yard, by Postal Order, or by Post Office Order, payable at Parliament Street Post Office. 13 Announcements concerning persons missing can only be accepted on pay- ment ; and the charges for the insertion of the same will be given on application. GSTY OF LONDON. 5--— For embezzlement, and stealing £ 47 10s.— WILLIAM JAY MURPHY, age 34 ( looks younger), height 5 ft. 9 in., complexion fresh, rather large head, full forehead, hair red and curly. Warrant issued. Not to be arrested out of the United Kingdom. 6-— For stealing ( servant) a small 18 ct. gold watch, Roman figures, " L. H." engraved on inside of back case; 1 lady's gold open face watch, gilt Roman figures; 1 long 9 ct. gold neck chain, small close link pattern; and about £ 21— FLORRIE NATLIE, alias MONDELLA, age about 24, height 5 ft., stout build, complexion pale, full round face, hair dark and frizzy, very dark under eyes,, white mole right cheek ; dress, brown bolero coat and skirt, large black chiffion hat, trimmed black feather tips. A dealer; may be found in company of hawkers or costermongers. Convicted at Central Criminal Court, 8th February, 1904, of stealing a horse, cart, and harness. Warrant issued. Information to Supt. KENT. 20.— Maidstone ( County).— For stealing from their lodgings, 1st inst., at Headcorn, a lady's gold ring, set turquoise and pearls; 1 gold locket, chased; 1 clothes brush, polished back, " Barrett & Co., Piccadilly," thereon; and £ 1 10s. — A WOMAN, who gave the name of SMITH, age about 40, height 5 ft. 5 or 6 in., complexion fresh, hair ( turning grey) dark, impediment in speech; dress, black dress, bodice with low neck, large black hat.— CARRIE SMITH ( supposed daughter of above), age about 17, height 5 ft. 3 or 4 in., complexion fresh; dress, blue mixture dress, blue tam- o'- shanter, silver bangle on each wrist. LANARKSHIRE. 21.— Glasgow ( City).— For stealing; a port- manteau from the Church Army Home, 23rd ult. — Supervisee GEORGE GILBERT, alias FREDERICK CLARKE, GEORGE BART- LETT, and JAMES COOK, Office No. 186- 02, Case No. 44, 23rd ult., and Illustrated Circular 72, Figure 11, age 49, height 5 ft. 6 in., complexion fresh, hair ( partly bald) dark brown, eyes hazel, scar and mole back of neck, bridge of nose flattened. A jeweller; native of London. Has been four times convicted of sacrilege. Information to Chief Constable Stevenson, Glas- gow. labour and 2 years police supervision for shop- breaking. Liberated on remission, 23rd February, 1905. 951. Has also been sentenced at Rother- ham, Sheffield, and Chesterfield. To be dealt with where found. Warrant issued. 25.— Nottingham ( Citv\— For failing to report — Supervisee GEORGE HANDS, alias ARTHUR PARKER, Office No. 3264- 02, age 38, height 5 ft. 2 in., complexion fresh, hair dark brown, eyes brown. A tailor ; native of Birmingham. Sentenced at Birmingham Sessions, 9th February, 1903, to 9 calendar months hard labour and 2 years police supervision for larceny. Liberated on remission, 17th October, 1903. 169. Has also been sentenced at Nottingham and Worcester. To be dealt with where found. Warrant issued. Information to Detective Supt. Supposed a native of Attercliffe. Has been in Macclesfield Industrial School. Warrant issued. Found in a recess near the place where the above were seen, 2 parcels, wrapped in faded green Willesden cloth ( 1 containing a ratchet brace, with " P x T" thereon; 1 morse single core drill; 1 ratchet brace cramp, with movable base plate; 2 bolts and nuts; other, a non- sound- ing board, about 3 ft. long, 2 in. thick, 3J in. wide, grooved and rounded; and a tee iron bar, about 30 in. long, tapered and drilled both ends). NO TTINGHA MS HIRE. 24.— Nottingham ( City).— For failing to report — Supervisee JOHN BROWN, alias JOSEPH BROWN and PETER KELLEY, Office No. 340- 04, age 51, height 5 ft. 1\ in., complexion dark, hair ( turning grey) and eyes brown, scar on nose, " J. B." and " 8" back left hand, ring 2nd left finger. A tailor; native of Nottingham. Sentenced at Nottingham City Sessions, 16th June, 1904, to 9 months hard SUFFOLK ( East). 28.— Lowestoft ( County).— For stealing cheques to the value of £ 57 17s. 6d.— HENRY HILTON LEIGH FURLONGE, alias ARTHUR CARPENTER, a Welshman, age 39, height 5 ft. 5 in., hair ( turning grey) black, bald spot back of head, moustache and full beard trimmed short, may now be clean shaved, dilates nostrils when speaking, of nervous disposition; dress, dark grey suit with light stripes, black yachting cap with shiny peak. An auctioneer's clerk. Absconded 29th ult. Sentenced to 4 months imprisonment at Rye, Sussex, in 1897, for bigamy. Is well known in London. Photograph can be seen on application. Warrant issued. 29.— Lowestoft ( County).— For stealing 2 cwt. of old iron from a shipyard, 12th ult. — GEORGE HARVEY, alias ROBERT LACEY and TARRY, age 48, height 5 ft. 5 in., complexion sallow, hair dark brown, eyes blue, " H. S." left forearm, 2nd right finger injured, several scars back of head, nose has been broken, large blue mark in centre, 2 blue cut scars above right eye. A rag and bone gatherer; native of Osyth, Norwich. Photograph can be seen on application. Warrant issued. Information to Deputy Chief Constable Shipp, Lowestoft. £ 2 REWARD. 30.— Wood bridge ( County).— For leaving his wife and children chargeable to the Wood- bridge Union— WILLIAM TACCIII, age 41, height 5 ft. 9 in., complexion fresh, hair light, eyes grey, well educated. A native of Wood- bridge. Has served in the Army. May be found in company of soldiers. Warrant issued. The above reward will be paid by the Guardians, Woodbridge Union, for the arrest of Tacchi. Lingley, Woodbridge. 31.— Ipswich ( Borough).— For stealing from a barge, while employed as mate, a dark blue mackintosh coat, lower button pulled out, herring bone stitches in rent, velvet collar and loop; 1 cotton shirt; 1 pair pink merino pants; 1 brown jacket and vest, brown buttons, double- breasted, collar on vest; 1 clothes brush— HARRY DUKE, age 22, height 5 ft. 6 in., weight about 9 st., com- plexion pale, hair and slight moustache dark; dress, brown jacket, blue o- uernsey, lavender colour trousers, blue cap with peak. WORCESTERSHIRE. 31.— Oldbury ( County).— For embezzle- ment— ARTHUR ROWBERRY, age 26, height 6 ft., complexion fresh, hair brown, cast in one eye ; dress, dark suit and cap. A labourer; native of Halesowen. Warrant issued. Information to Supt. Hill, Oldbury. YORKSHIRE ( West Riding). 35. — Goole ( County\ — For stealing a " Sentinel " bicycle, maker, Mead, Liverpool, free wheel, painted black, no brake or mudguards; and a pair of boots, size 9, at Reedness, 26th ult.— ROBERT WILLIAMS, age 17, height about 5 ft., complexion pale, hair dark brown, eyes blue; dress, dark grey suit, prey cap, lace boots. A native of South Wales. He was licenced to Maples Farm, Reedness, about 10 months ago, from the Calder Farm Reformatory, Murfield. Photograph can be seen on application. Warrant issued. GLAMORGANSHIRE. 36.— Bridgend ( County).— Remanded till 11th inst., charged with housebreaking at Pendoylan, 1st inst. — ARTHUR WIL- LIAMS, age 24, height 5 ft. 7 in., complexion fresh, hair dark brown, eyes grey, small cut scar right side of head, cut scar left forefinger, back of left middle finger, and left side of 3rd finger. A tramping labourer; native of Canton, Cardiff. States he has worked at Bir- mingham, Manchester, and Pontypridd. Found in his possession ( supposed stolen) a silver lever, Swiss make, " No. 126619," and " 0935 " inside back case, warranty for 12 months, dated 11- 11- 03, " from Mr. Khan, Pontypridd," inside case, silver curb pattern Albert, German silver coin, size of a 2s. piece, " Zuoi," mark, " 1877 " thereon, and a sixpence, dated " 1890," attached. HEREFORDSHIRE. 37.— Leominster ( County). — Committed for trial at next Herefordshire Assizes, 11th inst., charged with arson — PAT CONNER, alias CHARLES PRICE, age 37, height 5 ft. 2 in., complexion fresh, oval face, hair dark brown, eyes hazel, scar left side forehead, right chin, and back of left hand; dress, dark blue jacket, cord vest and trousers, grey cap, strong nailed boots. A tramping labourer; native of Stourbridge. Has been convicted at Stourbridge, Worcester, Mal- vern, Tenbury, Shrewsbury, Bromyard, and Here- ford. Information to Supt. Price, Leominster.
