All communications for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, and all communi- cations relating to them, should be. addressed to THE EDITOR OP THE POLICE GAZETTE, NEW SCOTLAND YARD, LONDON, S. W. 2. Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will be inserted in one issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. 3. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. 4. in all ciises inhere a reward is offered, the name and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions must be clearly stated. 5. Portraits of persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences, and engravings of stolen property, will be inserted at a cost of 7s. per portrait, and of 5s per photograph or sketch of a stolen article, unless the articlc is large or unusually intricate, when the engraver's charge will range from 5s. to 10s.^ A remittance of 5s. should be made in the first instance for cost of engraving sketches. 6. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by the signature of an officer of not less rank than Superintendent; and if the name of such person is required to be inserted and no warrant is in force against him, the requisition must be signed by the chief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case may be. JSL. " 3C? JE O £ 3J . 7. Announcements concerning stolen property must be guaranteed by an officer of not less rank thun Inspector, or analogous thereto. 8. Announcements of till persons to be apprehended or rif stolen property bear • number, and as far as practicable they are alphabetically arranged by counties. 9. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquents or stolen property to be inserted in the POLICE GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the Editor notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement, for insertion in the next issue. 10. In all cases the officer signing the request for the insertion of any announce- ment will be wholly responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publication. 11. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwarded so as to be received not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They must be clearly written on one side of the paper only; they must be in the usual form, and accompanied by a covering letter. 12. All payments must be in advance, either at the office, A'eu: Scotland Yard, by Postal Order, or by Post Office Order, payable at Parliament Street Post Office. 13. Announcements concerning property lost or persons missing can only be accepted on payment; and the charges for the insertion of the same will be given on application. He rented an office, and repre- sented himself as secretary of the Motor Finance Syndicate, advertised for a clerk at £ 2 per week on condition that £ 25 was deposited as security, returnable at the termination of service. Is fond of horse racing; makes small speculations on the Stock Exchange. Has acted as advance agent to a thoatrical company. Warrant issued. 2 .— Nottingham ( City). — GEORGE YATES, & c., Cases No. 26 and 30, 2nd and 9fch September last respectively, not now wanted, he having been sentenced, 9th ult., at Manchester Assizes, to 4 years imprisonment for forgery and fraud. When arrested he appeared to have red birth marks from 3 to 4 in. long on each cheek, but on appearing on remand they had entirely disappeared. An engineer; native of Congleton. Represented that he was fore- man to an electrical engineering company at Macclosfiold, and had been sent to the neighbour- hood to fix the electric light in a flour mill ( false). Sentenced at Stafford Quarter Sessions, Ist December, 1903, to 12 months hard labour for ob- taining goods by false pretences. Liberated on remission, 17th October last. 4906. Warrant issued.
