' 00| dom., 3rd class | Marks Tey i 18g15 5 | fresh | lt brn | brn Whenever men suspected of desertion or straggling from the Royal Navy or Royal Marines are brought before Magistrates in the Metropolitan District it is desirable that the NavaJ Descriptive Return in use in that District should be used only in the cases of seamen and others of the Royal Navy, and of Marines, who have deserted from Her Majesty's Ships. In the case of Marines not embarked who have deserted from the head quarters of their Divisions, the Army Descriptive Return, as specifie 1 iu the 1th Schedule of the Army Act, 1881, should be used. In districts outside the Metropolitan Districts to which Naval Descriptive Returns are not supplied, the Army Form should be used in all cases. ROYAL MARINES. Description of Deserters. Subject to the Admiralty Regulation* (" Police Gazette." Die. 18, 1900) a reward at the discretion of the Captain of the Ship, of not exceeding £ 3, will be paid for the apprehension within two years, of Deserters or Absentees ( except when apprehended within the precincts of a port or place where there is a Police Force employed at any Naval Establishment^. Expenses will also be paid according to these Regulations.
