All announcements for insertion in the POLICB GAZBTTB, and all communications upon them should be addressed to THB EDITOB OP THE POLICE GAZETTE, NEW SCOTLAND YABD, LONDON, S. W. 2. Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will be inserted in one issue of the POLICE GAZETTB, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. 8. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. 4. In all cases where a reward is offered the name and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions be clearly stated. a, Portraits of persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences, and engravings of stolen property, will be prominently inserted, with detailed particulars, at a cost of 15s. per portrait, and of 7s. Gd. per photograph or sketch of a stolen article, including the expense of engraving on wood, V 8. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by the signature of an officer of not less rank than Superntendent; and, if the name of such person be required to beinserted, and no warrant is in forceagamst him, the requisition must be signed by the chief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case may be. 7, Announcements concerning stolen property must be guaranteed by an officer of not less rank \ than Inspector, or analogous thereto. 8. Announcements of all persons to be apprehended or of stolen property bear a number, and or* alphabetically arranged by counties, g. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquents or stolen property to be inserted in the POLICE GAZBTTE, must, on then apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the Editor notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement for insertion in the next issue 10. In all cases, the officer signing the request for insertion of any announcement, u> iU be wholly responsible for any proceedings whicn may result from such publication. 11. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwaraed so as to be rerei red not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They must be clearly written on one side of the paper only, be in the usual form, and accompanied by a covering letter. 12. All payments must be in advance, either at the office, New Scotland Ya'd, by deque. . crossed ' Drummond Sf Co." Post Office Order payable at Parliament- stPostal Ord& r, or in Stamps. 13. Advertisements are accepted for the POLICE GAZBTTB through Mr. J amen Willing, 1J)\ Strand, London, the sole Agent, who will furnish the rates on application. 14. In the case of Marines not embarked who have deserted from the Head Quarters of their Divisions, the Army Descriptive Return, as specified in the 4th Schedule of the Army Act, 1881, should be used. In Districts outside the Metropolitan Districts to which Naval Descriptive Returns are not supplied, the Army Form should be used in all cases.
