POUCE GAZETTE PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY. NEW SERIES. TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2, 1894. VOL. XI, No. 1123. RiJGULATXOJ> JS. 1. All announcements for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, and all communications upon them should be addressed to THE EDITOB OP THE POLICE GAZETTE, NEW SCOTLAND YABD, LONDON, S. W. 2. Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension issoughtwill be inserted in one issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. 8. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. 4. In all cases where a reward is offered the name and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions be clearly stated. à. Portraits of persons whose apprehension u sought for serious offences, and engravings of stolen property, will be prominently inserted, with detailed particulars, at a cost of 15s. per portrait, and of 7s. Gd. per photograph or sketch of a stolen article, including the expense of engraving on wood, t á. Every announcement, iffor the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by thesignature of anofficer of not lessrank than Superintendent; and, ifthe name of such person he required to be inserted, and no warrant is in force against him, the requisition must be signed by the chief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case may be. 1. Announcements concerning stolen property must be Guaranteed by an officer of not less rank \ than Inspector, or analogous thereto 8. Announcements of all persons to be apprehended or of stolen property bear a number, and art alphabetically arranged by counties. 9. The force which causes particulars concerning aelinquents or stolen property to be inserted t » the POLICE GAZETTE, must, on then apprehension or recovery, at once transm't to the hditor notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement for insertion in the next issue 10. In all cases, the officer signing the request for insertion of any announcement, will be wholly responsible for any proceedings whicn may result from such publication. 11. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwarded so as to be received not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They must be clearly written on one side of the paper only, be in the usual form, and accompanied by a covering letter. 12. All payments must be in advance, either at the office. New Scotland Yard, by cheque . crossed " Drummond S( Co.," Post Office Order payable at Parliament- st., Postal Order, or t » Stamps. 13. Advertisements are accepted for the POLICE GAZETTE through Mr. James Willing, IS'~- Strand, London, the sole Agent, who will furnish the rates on application. 14.
