All Notices intended for insertion in tbe Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward tho Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, • and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of this nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. %• Should iregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this information the mistake cannot be roctified. « Prison and Polico Authorities are particularly requested to be'good enough to inform the Inspfector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, < kc., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the." ( 19718 c.— 7860). • Clare, Description of CHARLES O' HALLORAN, sup- posed native of county Galway, who stands charged with having, on the 29th April, 1893, in the barony of Tulla Upper, parish of Tomgraney, stolen from the dwelling- house of Catherine Murphy, Tomgraney:— A gold cross, about 2 inches long ; a gold ring, set in ruby stones ; a heart - shaped medallion, and some white handkerchiefs, marked H. Hogan ; all value for about £ 5 :— Good- looking, handsome face, speaks with an English accent; long nose, fair complexion, round face, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, rather fair hair; wore a light- coloured peak cap, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; smart address; carries a brown walking stick. Description of a WOMAN, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 12tli April, 1893, in tho barony of Bunratty Lower, parish of Bunratty, abandoned a male child, aged about 6 months, whereby the life of said child was endangered:— Very freckled face ; blue eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, long thin face, medium make, 5 feet 2 inches high, about 33 years of age, red hair; wore an old red dress, old gray shawl, no boots ; is a tramp. Description of WILLIAM DWYER ( mother's surname Hayes), native of Gortahomogue, who stands charged with having, on the 19th day of May, 1893, in the barony of Kilnemanagh Upper, parish of Toem, seriously assaulted James Dwyer, of Gortahamogue, by striking him on the head with a spade, fracturing his skull, thereby placing his life in danger :— May have cut marks on head and face; gray or blue eyes, regular nose, sandy complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 45 or 50 years of age, sandy whiskers and moustache; wore a low soft black hat, gray frieze coat, and corduroy trowsers ; is a farmer. Westmeath. r , * Description of JAMES COFFEY, native of Knockeraville, county Westmeath, who stands charged with having, on the night of 19th or ^ nojjiing of 20th April, 1893, in the barony of Moyashel and Maghera- dermon, parish of Dysart, stolon 3 sheep and 3 lambs s— Greatly bow- legged, result of being broken when training horses ; gray or blue eyes, regular nose rather sharp, fair complexion, thin face, medium make, about 5 feet 5 inchcs high, between 26 and 30 years of age, fair hair; woro a gray tight coat, tight fitting trowsers, black woollen Cardigan jacket under Ills coat, heavy brass watch chain, will probably be found about horse training stables; is a horse trainer and groom. Young Offender THOMAS PERRY, described in Ilue- and- Cry, 30th May, not arrested. ( 543 H. C.) DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLIOS. ft Division. Particulars relativo to convict MICHAEL M'GOLDRICK, c 21, convicted at Enniskillen, county Fermanagh, at Quarter Sessions, on 19th November, 1885, for larceny and previous conviction, and sentenced to ten years' penal servitude:— 60 years of ago on conviction, married, is a dealer; born at Enniskillen ; resided before conviction at Enniskillen, whero his friends reside; dark brown hair, brown eyes, dark brown eyebrows, small nose, small mouth, sallow complexion, oval visage, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high; ruptured left side, wears a truss, cut- scar on bridge of nose and on upper lip. Tbis man was released on licence from Maryboro' Prison, 19th May, 1893, and stated he was going to Sligo. lie was arrested on same date at Athlone on a chargo of drunkenness, and discharged on condition of at once leaving the town. He has not sinco reported himself, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112, see. 5, as amended by Penal Servitude Act, 1891. 31st May, 1893. ( 557 H. C.) Particulars relative to English Convict MICHAEL DOODY, No. 294, convicted at Malta, at a Court Martial, on 10th May, 1887, for an attempt to commit sodomy, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude:— 23 years of age on conviction, is a soldier; dark brown hair, gray eyes, 5 feet 7 inches high; two scars on back of head, mark on top of nose, right side, scar on cheek and on first finger, also on knuckle of second finger and on buttock; wore all his beard, which may now be shaved off. This man was released on licence from Portsmouth Prison, 29th October, 1892. He left his residence, 36, Nicholas- street, Dublin, without reporting to police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112, sec. 5, as amended by Penal Servitude Act, 1891. 18th May, 1893. ( 555 H. C.) Description of JOSEPH M'DONNELL, who was convicted of rape, at the Mayo Assizes, on 10th of July, 1889, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude, and who is now wanted on Warrant, in consequence of the licence granted to him on 1st April, 1893, for the unexpired term of said sentence having been revoked:— He is 26 years old, 5 feet inches high, brown hair, blue eyes, brown eyebrows, regular nose and mouth, pale complexion, oval visage, proportionate make; cut on forehead and on right side of top of head, mole and scar on chin, large scar on right wrist, flesh- mark on left wrist; is a'blacksmith, and a native of Claremorris, county Mayo. Warrant in the hands of Chief Inspector COOPER, Dublin Metro- politan Police. Detective Department, 9th May, 1893. ( 553 H. C.) Particulars relative to convict GEORGE CAMPBELL, otherwise SAMUEL ROBINSON, c 55, convicted Downpatrick, county Down, at Assizes, on 13th March, 1886, for larceny and previous conviction, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude, and 851 4aya of a former sentence:— 55 years of age, married, is a saddler, born in Larne, his mends reside near Larne; brown hair turning gray, gray. eyes, dark brown eyebrows, large hooked nose, largo mouth, fresh complexion, broad visage, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high; cut- mark on ball of left thumb, lost nearly all front teeth. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on 6th insK, and reported himself to the Dublin Metro- politan Police. Ha stated he would return and notify his residence, but ha has not done so, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112, sec. 5, as amended by Penal Servitude Act, 1891. 13th March, 1893. ( 542 H. C.) Particulars relative to convict THOMAS BURKE, C 313, convicted at Limerick at County Quarter Sessions, on 5th April, 1889, for breaking into a shop and stealing, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude, and 2 years' police supervision:— 53 years of age on conviction, single, is a labourer; born in Dublin; resided before conviction in Limerick; dark brown hair, blue eyes, light brown eyebrows, large nose, regular mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high; cuts on head, cross and dot on back of right wrist, varicose veins in right lag. This man was released from Maryboro' Prison on 4th January, 1893, and went to Cork. He left bis residence, 2, Old George's- street, in that city, on 6th ult., without reporting to royal Irish Constabulary, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with ' under 34 and 35 Vio., cap. 112, sec. 5, as amended by Penal Servitude Act, 1891. 13th March, 1893. ( 542 H. O.) Description of CHARLES FLUDGATE, who stands charged with stealing, on S9th ult., a horse, saddle, and bridle from Portobello Barracks, Dublin, the property of the Commander- in- Chief of Her Majesty's Forces:— He is 24 years old, 6 feet 4 inches high, medium make, dark hair and complexion, shaved face except small dark moustache; when last < een was dressed in a brown jerry hat, a light colour sheck lounge suit, and black cloth top eoat; is an Army Reservist and a native of Dublin. Warrant in the hands of the Chief Superi Dublin Castle. ( 523 h. c.) ENGLISH POLIce. Cheshire. THREE MEN charged with robbery of jewellery, and described in issue of 18th April, not arrested. ( 545 H. c. X Essex. Description of JOSEPH RAWLINGS, native of Billericay, Essex, late Bethnal Green, London, wanted at Brentwood, Essex, for stealing a horse, cart, and a set of harness ( recovered), at South Weald, on the 17th March, 1893 :- Bald top of head, scar left cheek, scar left side of neck, right side large scar inside leg from fracture, red mole spine; 70 years of age, very active of his age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fresh com- plexion, stout build, gray hair, generally dyed very dark, blue bushy eyebrows; wore a round hard felt hat and dark clothes. He is now supposed to be travelling in Ireland with low horse dealers. War- rant issued. Information to Superintendent ALLEN, Brentwood, Essex. 14th April, 1893. ( 550 H. c.) SCOTCH POLICE, Stirlingshire. Wanted for housebreaking, in Stirling Burgh, on tho 17th instant:— A MAN about 25 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches in height, fresh complexion, full round face, dark hair, dark moustache, otherwise shaved; stout made; dressed in a black cord coat, dark vest and trowsers, light muffler, and black felt hat. The above- described" broke into a villa about 10.15 p. m. on the above date, in company with another man who is in custody, by inserting a knife betweei^ the sashes of the window, removing the snib, raising^ fho lower sash, and entering thereby. Police Officers are requested to make search and inquiry at all likely places with the view to tho apprehension of the above- described ( who can be identified), and if found, to wire the Chief Constable. Description of the following articles, the property of Catherine Murphy, of Tomgraney, which were stolen from her dwelling- house, Tomgraney, parish of Tom- graney, barony of Tulla Upper, on 29th day of April, 1893;— A gold cross, about 2 inches long; a small gold ring, set in ruby stones; a handsome heart- shaped medallion, in purple velvet, and coral stones; a good silk square, brown colour, and 4 white handkerchiefs, marked II. Longford, Description of the undermentioned articles, the property of Henry Thompson, which were stolen from his house, at Tomiskey, parish of Mohill, barony of Longford, on night of 1st or morning of 2nd May, 1893, viz.:— A Brussel's carpet, 8 feet by 8 feet, red and yellowish color, small label attached, value for about £ 1 10s.; a tin kettle, holds about 4 quarts; a pot- oven, medium size ; a pot, small size; a large metal pan with handle; a steel tongs, new and bright; two silver tea spoons, hall- marked, no crest; a pierse of table oil cloth, 1 by f yards, white color.
