Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, • nd by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should - remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of this nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. Description of a MAN, name and native place anknown, who 6tands charged with having, on the 6th March, 1893, in the barony of Lower Toome, parish of Kirkinriola, assaulted and attempted to stab with a knife Rose Gilmer, and threatened to murder her :— Very dary eyes, regular ndse, dark swarthy complexion, lull face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, abont 30 years of age, dark hair, no whiskers or beard, may have a slight moustache; wore a black greasy cap, dark or black coat, dark trowsajs and vest; trade cr occupation unknown; has the appearance of an engine fitter, mechanic, or sailor on tramp. Armagh Particulars relative to convict HUGH DAILY, c 72, convicted at Armagh at the Assizes, on 14th July, 1886, for manslaughter, ami sentenced to penal servitude for life, commuted to 10 years :— 55 years of age on conviction, uiarried, is a labourer, born at Tullykevin, county Armagh, resided before conviction at Blackwater, county Armagh, where his friends reside j^ gray hair, gray eyes, gray eyebrows, large no- Mr," large mouth, fresh complexion, oval worn visage, rfredium make, 5 feet inches high ; cut- mark between left thumb and- finger, nail of right thumb split, lost some teeth. This man was released from Maryboro' Prison, 17th July, 1892, on licence. He left Armagh on 30th ult., and has not since been heard of. In tho event of his arrest he should be dealt with under 34 and 35 Vic., sap. 112, as iwnended by Penal Servitude Act, 1891. cavan; Description of JAMES CORRIGAN, native of Gortamoan, county Fermanagh, Who stands; charged with having, on the 22ml April, 1898, at Blacklion, in the barony of Tullyhaw parish of Killinagh, seriously assaulted one William Armstrong, by striking Jiim with a stick 011 the head:— Gray eyes, regular ftcrse, fair complexion, long thin face, slight make, 5 feet 7 inches high, abont 17 or 18 years of age, light fair hair : wore a tweed cap, dark jacket, gray tweed knickerbockers, and long brown stockings ; is a farmer's son. Description of JANE M'ENROE '( supposed fictitious), native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 22nd day of February, 1893, in the barony of Upper Longhtee, parish of Urney, abandoned her infant child ( onder 2 yesrs), so aa to endanger its life:— Sullen appearance ; small suken eyes, slightly hooked nose, sallow complexion, long full face, stout make, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, about 21 years of age, blaok hair, with a monkey-- fringe; wore a black die? a and jacket, with a flowered print jacket underneath, a black hat, with tome reddish flowers, and carried an umbrella; (- opposed to be a farmer's servant. Description of a WOMAN, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 12th April, 1893, in the barony ol Bunratty Lower, parish of Bunratty, abandoned a male Child, aged about 6 months, whereby the life " of said child was endangered:— Very freckled face ; blue eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, long thin face, medium make, 5 feet 2 inches high, about 33 years of age, red hair; wore an old red dress, old gray shawl, no boots; is a tramp. Description of CHARLES O'HALLORAN, sup posed native of county Galway, who stands charged with having, on the 29th April, 1893, in the barony of Tulla Upper, parish of Tomgraney, stolen from the dwelling- house of Catherine Murphy, Tomgraney:— A gold cross, about 2 inches long ; a gold ring, set in ruby stones; a heart - shaped medallion, and some white handkerchiefs, marked H. Hogan ; all value for about £ 5 :— Good- looking, handsome face, speaks with Down. Licensed Convict JOSEPH KELLY, or CONNOR described in issue of 24th March, not arrested. ( 526 H. C.) Dublin. Description of JOSEPH DOREY, native of Nau], county Dublin, who stands charged with having, on the 4th April, M93j in the barony of Rathdown, parish of Tanef; escaped from Dundrum Criminal Lunatic Asylum, where he was confined during the pleasure of Her Majesty Lost some of his front teeth, broad stooped shoulders, steps short when walk- ing, and turns in his toes; high cheek bones, high forehead, shaves face except moustache and side whiskers, which it is likely he will get removed, blue sunken eyes, regular nose, florid complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 35 years of age, light flaxen hair; wore a black morning coat, black trowsers and vest, all of same material, descrip- tion of hat not known; is a coachman. Dorey was indicted for the murder of his wife at Naul, but deemed to be of unsound mind, he was committed to this Asylum. Dundrum, 13th April, 1893. ( 21881 c 12072). Information required concerning THOMAS MARTIN, native place unknown, who stands charged with fcav'ng, on the 21st December, 189% in the barony of Magheraboy, parish of Inishmacsaint, ob- tained goods by false pretences irotn Janes Earls, Slavin, Belleek. It is supposed that he has committed other similar oflences. His " modus operandi" is to get into correspondence with poultry and game dealers . THE POLICE GAZETTE, OR HUE- AND- CRY. MAY 9, 1893. ( 20652 c.— 9573.) • Assises, on 13th March, 1886, for larceny and previous conviction, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude, and 851 days of a former sentence:— 55 years of age, married, is a saddler, born in Larne, his friends reside near Larne; brown hair tcroing gray, gray eyes, dark brown eyebrows, large hooked ncss, large mouth, fresh complexion, broad visage, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high; cut- mark on ball of left thumb, lost nearly all front teeth. This man was released from Monntjoy Prison on 6th inst., and reported himself to the Dublin Metro- politan Police. He stated he would return and notify his residence, but he has not done so, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112, sec. 6, as amended by Penal Servitude Act, 1891. 13th March, 1893. ( 542 H. C.) Particulars relative to convict THOMAS BURKE, c 313, convicted at Limerick at county Quarter Sessions, on 5th April, 1889, for breaking into a shop and stealing, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude, and 2 years' police supervision:— 53 years of age on conviction, single, is a labourer; born in Dublin; resided before corviction in Limerick; dark brown hair, blue eyes, light brown eyebrows, large nose, regular mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high; cuts on head, cross and dot on back of right wrist, varicose veins in right leg. This man was released from Maryboro' Prison on 4th January, 1893, and went to Cork. He left his residence, 2, Old George's- street, in that city, on 6th ult., without reporting to Royal Irish Constabulary, and bis present whereabouts is unknown. Description of CHARLES FLUDGATE, who stands charged with stealing, on 89th ult., a horse, saddle, and bridle from Portobello Barracks, Dublin, the property of the Commander- in- Chief of Her Majesty's Forces :— He is 24 years old, 6 feet 4 inches high, medium make, dark hair aad complexion, shaved face except small dark moustache; when last seen was dressed in a brown jerry hat, a light colour check lounge suit, and black cloth top eoat; is an Army Reservist and a native of Dublin. Description of JOSEPH RAWLINGS, native of Billericay, Essex, late Bethnal Green, London, wanted at Brentwood, Essex, for stealing a horse, cart, and a set of harness ( recovered), at South Weald, on the 17th March, 1893 :— Bald top of head, scar left cheek, scar left side of neck, right side large scar inside leg from fracture, red mole spine; 70 years of age, very active of his age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fresh com- plexion, stout build, gray hair, generally dyed very dark, blue bushy eyebrows; wore a round hard felt hat and dark clothes. Tyrone, Description of JAMES COLLINS, alias BEATTY, supposed to be a native of Glasgow, who stands charged with having, on the 15th December, 1892, in the barony of Strabane Upper, parish of Badoney Lower, unlawfully stolen £ 17, in single notes, and a small single- barrelled pistol from the house of one Daniel M'Goldrick ( small farmer), with whom he was a hired servant:— Two upper front teetb black, brown eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, soft white face, slight make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 16 years of age, very black hair ; wore a two- peaked whitish cap, dark sack coat and old dark trowsers, patched on seat with corduroy; is a farm servant. Description of PATRICK MEENAN ( mother's surname M'Court), native of Aldrummond, who stands charged with baving, on the 8th December, 1892, in the barony of Strabane Upper, parish of Cappagh, unlawfully fired a gun at Andrew Wasson, a game- keeper to Sir William M'Mahon:— Gray or blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a black peak cap, dark coat, gray trowsers, and vest; is a farmer's son and labourer. Description of JAMES COFFEY, native of Knockeraville, county Westmeath, who stands charged with having, on the night of 19th or morning of 20th April, 1893, in the barony of Moyashel and Maghera- dermon, parish of Dysart, stolen 3 sheep and 3 lambs :— Greatly bow- legged, result of being broken when training horses ; gray or blue eyes," regular nose rather sharp, fair complexion, thin face, medium make, about 5 feet 5 inches high, between 26 and 30 years of age, fair hair; wore a gray tight coat, tight fitting trowsers, black woollen cardigan jacket under his coat, heavy brass watch chain, will probably be found about horse training stables ; is a horse trainer and groom. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 19th March, 1893, absconded from the Saint Kevin's Reformatory School at Glencree, county Wicklow :— THOMAS PERRY, No. 2,441, about 19 or 20 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, stout make, fair complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, large nose, ordinary mouth, oval or round visage, and ratfcer sour- looking; formerly belonged to " 0, Jervis- street, Dublin ; mother and brother reside at 57, Great Strand- street, Dublin; "' I " and ' J. P." tattooed on right forearm. The School dress, all with Reformatory Stamp, consists of:— Moleskin trowsers and vest, cloth cap ( Scotch make), strong nailed boots, No. 2,441. This boy worked as a shoemaker for some time in Skerries, county Dublin. He will endeavour to leave the c untry and probably ' to enlist, if he cannot get wo k at the shoemaking. His hands look like a workman's hands, second finger right hand has been amputated between first and second joints ; carried a stick with a silver knob. Has a dark overcoat and white silk muffler with him, also white straw hat, with blue and white striped ribbon round. Warrant issued.
