All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Ory are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to tho Inspector- Gonoral, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn j but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be acoompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of this nature unless they have tho Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. %* Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necossary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly ^ requested to be . good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, d: c., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " uo. longer necessary. ROYAL IRISH CONSTABULARY, Antrim Description of a MAN, name and rative place ( mknown, who stands charged with having, on the 6th March, 1893, in tie barony of Lower Toome, p3rieh of Kirkinriol8, assaulted and attempted to stab with a knife Rose Gilmer, and threatened to murder her: Very dary eyes, regular nose, dark swarthy complexion, full face, stout v site, 5 feet 6 inches high, abont 30 3ears of ape, dsrk lair, no whiskers or beard, may have a slight moustache; wore a black gr? aiy cap, dark cr black coat, dark trowssrs and vest; trade cr occupation unknown; fcas the appcaranco of on engine fitter, mechanic, or sailor on tramp. PATRICK SCULLION, alias JORDAN ( firing at tho person), described in Hue- » n<?-'.) y of 24th March, net arrested. ( 19619 7660.) cavan. Description of JOHN M'GURRIN, native of Gorteen, county Fermanagh, who stands charged with having, on the night of 17th March, 1893, in the barony of Tullyhaw, parish of Tomregan, seriously assaulted ono Thomas Donohue, by stabbing him with a knife:— Heavy brown moustache, gray eyes, regular nose, pale sallow complexion, thin face, slight active make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 42 years of age, brown hair turning gray ; wore a blue frock- coat, tweed trowsers, tweed vest, black soft hat with a red thread through it. Warrant in hands of Sergeant at Ballyconnell. Swanlinbar, 24th March, 1893. ( 21567 11430.) Description of JANE M'ENROE ( supposed fictitious), native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 22cd day of February, 1893, in the barony of Upper Loughtee, parish of Urney, abandoned- her infant child ( under 2 years), so as to endanger it* life:— Sullen appearance ; small snken eyes, slightly hooked nose, sallow complexion, long full ftce, stout make, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches higb, shout 21 years of ace, black hair, with a monkey fringe; wore a black dress and jacket, with a flowered print jacket underneath, a black hat, with some reddish flowers, and carried an umbrella; supposed to be a farmer's servant. Description of THOMAS DUIGNAN, native of Fatron, Ardlogher, county Cavan, who stands charged with having, on the 2nd January, 1893, in the barony of Loughtee Lower, parish of Tomregan, caused the death of Ellen M'Kiernan by blows and kicks:— Gray eyes, shoit thick nose, sallow com- plexion, thin face, stout active make, B feet 6 inches high, about 22 yesrs of age, daik brown hair; wore a peak cap, light coat, light tweer" trowsers and vest; is a labourer. Killeshendra, 11th Jan. 1893, ( 20286 C.— 8878.) Inscription of WILLIAM HEWITT, Junior ( mother's eurnaire M'Meikle), native of Drum- connick, Cavan, who stands charged with having, en the 13th December, 1892, in the barony of Upper Longhtee, parish cf Urney, stabbed one Moses Rourke with a penknife, and being bound by recognizance to appear at cavan Petty Sessions on 19th Decem- ber, 1892, has absconded from his bail:— Prominent teeth, square shoulders, active appearance ; dark eyes, slightly hooked nose, dark complexion, regular face, slight make, 6 feet 1 inch higb, about 28 years of age, dark hair; wore a Hack bard hat, dark coat, trowsers, end vest; is a farmer's son. Clare, Description of a WOMAN, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 12th April, 1893, in the barony of Bunratty Lower, parish of Bunratty, abandoned a male child, aged about 6 months, whereby the life of said child was endangered :— Very freckled face ; blue eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, long thin face, medium make, 5 feet 2 inches high, about 33 years of age, red hair; wore an old red dress, old gray shawl, no boots; is a tramp. MICHAEL CLUNE ( house- breaking), Hue- and- Cry, 2nd Sept., not arrested. ( 16138 c.— 1869.)! Cork. Description of LAWRENCE KIELY, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on or about 8th April, 1893, in the barony of Imokilly, parish of St. Mary's, Youghal, unlawfully deserted and wilfully neglected to maintain his wife and two children, and in consequence thereof they have become destitute and are at present being relieved in the Youghal Union Workhouse:— Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh com- plexion, round face, slight make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, between 30 and 35 years of age, fair hair ; wore a cap and shabby suit of tweed. Wears his hair rather long. Shaves all face except small fair moustache. He was seen in Cork on 19th inst., and lived there, previous to his coming to Youghal, in Mary- street and Barrack- street; is a coach painter. Youghal, 22nd April, 1893. ( 22098 c.— 12417.) Down. Licensed [ Convict JOSEPH KELLY, or CONNOR dsfcrihed in issue of 24th March, not arreted. ( 526 H. C.) Dublin. Description of JOSEPH DOREY, native of Naul, county Dublin, who stands charged with having, on the 4th April, 1893, in the barony of Rathdown, parish of Taney, escaped from Dundrum Criminal Lunatic Asylum, where he was confined during the pleasure of Her Majesty :— Lost some of his front teeth, broad stooped shoulders, steps short when walk- ing, and turns in his toes; high check bones, high forehead, shaves face except moustache and side whiskers, which it is likely he will get removed, blue snnken eyes, regular nose, florid complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 35 years of age, light flaxen hair; wore a black morning coat, black trowsers and vest, all of same material, descrip- tion of hat not known ; is a coachman. Dorey was indicted for the murder of his wife at Naul, but deemed to be of unsound mind, ho was committed to this Asylum. Dundrum, 13th April, 1893. ( 21881 c— 12072). Information required concerning THOMAS MARTIN, native place unknown, who stands charged with hav: ng, on the 21st December, 1892, in the barony of Magheraboy, parbh of Inishmacsaint, ob- tained goods by false pretences from James Earls, Slavin, Belleek. It is supposed that he has ommitted other similar offence?. His " modus operandi" is to get into correspondence with poultry and game dealers, Ac., and obtain larga consignments of goods, for which he cannot pay, beiag an undischarged bankrupt. He is at present undergoing a term of imprisonment in England for a similar offence ; is a commission agent. Information sworn and Warrant issued. Derrygonnelly, 8} h Mar., J893. ( 21352 c 11014.) Description of MICHAEL READE, native of Kilmoganny, who stands charged with having, on the 8th June, 1892, in the barony of Municipal Borough, parish of St. Mary's, stolen a silver Geneva watch from one James Blatchford. The watch was found on the accused whea arrestid, and he was bound by recognizance to appear at Thomastown Petty Sessions on 7th March, 1S- 93, but failed to appear, and bar absconded:— Dark brown eyes, regular nose, palt complexion, thin face, slight maka, 5 feet inohes high, aloat 20 or 21 yeari of age, dark hair, no beard or whiskers j wore a tweed cap, tweed coat, light tweed trowsers and v* it, i) good looking and of respectable appearance; is a grooai or stabloboy. Description of JOSEPH O'REILLY, native of Limerick City, who stands charged with having, on the 20th March, 1892, in the borough of Limerick, parish of St. Michael's, embezzled the sum of £ 20 and upwards, the property of his employer, Mr. John Murphy:— Heavy dark brown moustache, long feet, respectable looking, dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, thin face, slight make, 6 feet high, about 26 years of age, dark brown hair ; wore a tweed sack- coat, striped trowscrs, tweed vest; is an assistant goods agent. Warrant for his arrest in the hands of the Head Constable at William- street, Limerick. Limerick, 28th March, 1893. ( 21596 11493.) JAMES M'PEAKE ( serious assault), described in issue of 7th April, not arrested. ( 19864 c.— 8141). longford. Description of JOHN M'NALLY ( mother's sur- name M'Quaid), native of Ohill, who stands charged with having, on the 6th December, 1892, in the barony of Longford, parish of Killoe, seriously assaulted John Corrigan, of Molkagh, by stabbing him with a knife:— Square broad shoulders, swaggering gait, gene- rally walks with his hands in his pockets; gray or blue eyes, long nose, pale complexion, round face, • tout make, about 5 feet 9 inches high, about 27 years of age, fair hair; wore a black cap, dark coat, trow- sera, and vest; is a farmer's son. Longford, 10th Dec., 1892. ( 19716 o.— 7940.) meath. Description of PATRICK TUITE, native of county Meath, who stands charged with having, on the 2nd April, 1893, in the barony of Lower Deece, parish of Knockmark, stolen from a dwelling, one ten pound and one five pound note ( numbers not known or bank from which issued), three sovereigns and ten shillings in silver :— Neglected appearance, keeps his eyes shut when speaking, blue or gray eyes, regular nose, red complexion, small face, slight make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 65 or 70 years of age, gray beard whiskers and moustache cut short, long gray hair; wore a corduroy jacket over brown drab coat, corduroy trowsers, no vest; is a tramp labourer. Warrant issued. Dunshaughlin, 4th April, 1893. ( 21719c 11730). Tipperary. Description of PATRICK DALY, no fixed place, who stands charged with having, on the 13th day of March, 1893, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Tipperary, failed to notify to the police at Tipperary his change of residence, being a convict on ticket of leave:— Cut mark front of head and left side of forehead, lost a front upper tooth, kick mark on left shin; gray eyes, long slight hooked nose, fresh com- plexion, oval face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 51 years of age, brown hair; wore a hard round jerry hat, gray tweed coat, tweed trowsers, and tweed vest; is a labourer. Tipperary, 27th March, 1893. ( 546 H. C.) Description of Gunner JAMES MORRISSEY, No. 95218, a deserter or absentee without leave fiom 3rd Sub- Depot, C\ f- o. D. R. A:— 24£ jeara of age, 5 foet 9 inches high, fresh complexion, dark bi own lair, gray eyest date and place cf defertiou < r absence, 14th February, 1893, at Templemore; date and place of enlistment, 21st January, 1893, at Templemore; born in the parish of Saint Catherine's, Dublin; mole under right ear; is a groom; diesstd in regimentals. Description of MARY MOLONEY, native of county L'merick, who stands charged with having, on the 28th January, 1893, at Ballyhane, in the barony of Kilnamanagh Upper, parish cf Toem, stolen a purse belonging to Alice Lloyd, containing one pound and ten shillings, also with obtaining goods by fals3 pretences:— Prominent front teeth, slight space between them, lisps when speaking and generally laughs when spoken to; dark eyes; swarthy com- plexion : medium make; 5 feet high ; about 35 years of age ; black hair, curly in front; wore an old black dress, old black sbawl, laced boots, and wore a neck- lace with beads; tramp and servant girL Warrant in bands of Cappawhite Police. Description of JOHN RYAN " PLUNKHAM" ( Mother's surname Ryan, " Plunger"), native of Curraghmore, who stands charged with having, on the 30th December, 1892, in the barony of Owney and Aria, parish of Kilmastulla, fired at the person of Martin Troy:— Has marks of old cuts on his head; is good looking; prominent gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 26 years of age, fair hair; wore a hard hat, snuff coloured tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. Warrant issued ( or his arrest. Newport, 31st December, 1892. ( 20121 o.— 8616.) WILLIAM BUCKLEY ( stabbing), described in issue of 7th April, not arrested. ( 19701 7876). Tyrone, Description of JAMES COLLINS, alias BEATTY, supposed to be a native of Glasgow, who stands charged with having, on the 15th December, 1892, in the barony of Strabane Upper, parish of Badoney Lower, unlawfully stolen £ 17, in single notes, and a small single- barrelled pistol from the house of one Daniel M'Goldrick ( small farmer), with whom he was a hired servant:— Two upper front teeth black, brown eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, soft white face, slight make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 16 years of age, very black hair ; wore a two- peaked whitish cap, dark sack coat and old dark trowsers, patched on seat with corduroy; is a farm servant. Description cf PATRICK MEENAN ( mother's surname M'Court), native of Aldrummond, who stands charged with having, on the 8th December, 1892, in the barony of Strabane Upper, parish of Cappagh, unlawfully fired a gun at Andrew Wasson, a game- keeper to Sir William M'Mahcn:— Gray or blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a black peak cap, dark coat, gray trowsers, and vest; is a farmer's Bon and labourer. ( Warrant in the hands of A. S. Munn, Royal Irish Constabulary, Mountfield. for his arrest.; Newtownstewart, 10th December, 1892. ( 19744 c.— 7901.) Wicklow. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 19th March, 1893, absconded from the St. Kevin's Reformatory School at Glencree, county Wicklow :— OWEN REILLY, No. 2,339, about 20 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches or 5 feet 6 inches high, stout make, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, ordinary nose, ordinary mouth, round visage ; formerly belonged to Santry, county Dublin ; his parents are dead ; lost first joint of little finger of left hand, and has tattoo marks on his arms. The School dress, all with Reformatory Stamp, con- sists of:— Moleskin trowsers and vest, long frieze coat, cloth cap ( Scotch make), strong nailed boots, No. 2,339. He will endeavour to leave the country and enlist in the army as he did whilst away as an absconder in 1891. Some time ago his brother, William, resided at Cloghran, county Dublin, and his brother James at 35, Commons- street, Dublin. He has a sister in High- park Reformatory, Drumcondra. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest J ustice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. 20th March, 1893. ( 543 H. C.) Description ol the undernamed young offender, who, on the 19th March, 1893, absconded lrom the Saint Kevin's Reformatory School at Glencrte, county Wicklow:— THOMAS PERRY, No. 2,441, about 19 or 20 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, stout make, fair complexion, brown hair, bazei ejes, large nose, ordinary mouth, oval or round visage, ani rather sour- loo^ g ; formerly belonged to 50, Jervis ( street, Dublin; mother and brother reside at 57, Great Strand- street, Dublin; " 1" and " J. P." tattooed on right forearm. The School dress, all with Reformatory S amp, consists of:— Moleskin trowsers and vest, oloth cap ( Scotch make), strong nailed boots, No. 2,441. This boy worked ns a shoemaker for some time in Skerries, county Dublin. He will endeavour to leave the c uutry and probably to enlist, if he cannot get work at the ehoemaking. The Manager of tbe Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arretted, to the neirest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him witb £ 1. 23th March, 1893. ( 543 H. C.) DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLIce. 6 Division. Particulars relative to convict GEORGE CAMPBELL, otherwise SAMUEL ROBINSON, c 55, convicted at Downpatrick, county Down, at Assizes, on 13tb March, 18> 6, for larceny and previous conviction, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude, and 851 dt- ys of a former sentence:— 55 years of age, married, is a saddler, born in Larne, his friendi reside near Larne; brown hair tcroin ® gray, gray eyes, dark brown eyebrows, large hooked mse. large mouth, fresh complexion, broad visage, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high; cut- mark on ball of left thumb, lost nearly all front teeth. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on 6th inst., and reported himself to the Dublin Metro- politan Police. He stated he would return and notily his residence, but he has not done so, and his present whereabcuts is unknown. In the event of his aireet he should be dealt with under 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112, sec. 5, as amended by Penal Servitude Act, 1891. 13th March, 189?. ( 542 H. C.) Particfllars relative to conviot THOMAS BURKE, c 313, convicted at Limerick at County Quarter Sessions, on ( th April, 1889, for breaking into a shop end stealing, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude, and 2 } ears' police supervision:— 53 years of age on conviction, single, is a labourer; born in Dublin; resided before conviction in Limerick; dark brown hair, blue eyes, light brown oyebrows, large nose, regular mouth, fresh complexion, oval virage, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high; cuts on head, cross and dct on back of right wrist, varicose veins in right leg. This man was released from Maryboro' Prison on 4th January, 1893, and went to Cork. He left his residence, 2, Old George's street, in that city, on 6th ult., without reporting to Royal Irish Constabulary, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under 84 and 35 Vic., cap. 112, tec. 5, as amended by Penal Servitude Act, 1891. 13th March, 1893. ( 542 H. o.) Description of CHARLES FLUDGATE, who stands charged with stealing, on S9th ult., a horse, saddle, and bridle from Portobello Barracks, Dublin, tbe property of the Commander- in- Chief of Her Majesty s Forces :— He is 24 years old, 5 feet 4 Inches high, medium make, dark hair and complexion, shaved face except small dark moustache; when last seen was diessed in a brown jerry hat, a light colour oheck lounge suit, and black cloth top eoat; is an Army Reservist and a native of Dublin. Warrant in the lands of the Chief Superintendent, Dublin Castle. ( 523 H. C.) ENGLISH POLICE. Cheshire. Description of JOSEPH RAWLINGS, native of Billericay, Essex, late Bethnal Green, London, wanted at Brentwood, Essex, for stealing a horse, cart, and a THE POLICE GAZETTE, OB HUE- A3TO- GRY, AFEU 25, 1893 set of harness ( recovered), at South Weald, on the 17th March, 1893 s — Bald top of head, scar left cheek, scar left side of neck, right side large scar inside leg from fracture, red mole spine; * 0 years of age, very active of his age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fresh com- plexion, stout build, gray hair, generally dyed very dark, blue bushy eyebrows; wore a round hard felt hat and dark clothes. He is now supposed to be travelling in Ireland with low horse dealers. War- rant issued. Information to Superintendent ALLEN, Brentwood, Essex. 14th April, 1893. ( 550 H. c.) Description of CHARLES KUBLER, a German, who is charged under the Merchandise Marks' Act:— About 55 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, medium complexion, light brown hair turning gray, gray eyes ; stout and broad shoulders, extra large square looking head, full beard and moustache sandy inclined, always wears eye- glasses, inclined to be bow- legged, speaks fairly good English, with slight German accent, is quickly excited ; wore a half- ball felt hat, with wider rim than usually worn, dark overcoat and trowsers. Warrant issued. Information to Superintendent H. G. ACKERS, Colchester, Essex. lst April, 1893. ( 547 H. C.) Description of THOMAS PERRY, alias MOLLETT and JAMES HAMMERSLEY MOL- LERT ( B. N. 249), native of Longton, who stands charged with having failed to report himself, being a convict on licence, he having been liberated from Borstal Convict Prison on the 20th March, 1893 :— Nose inclines to right, hair thin top of head, scar centre of forehead, left eye weak, mole left shoulder, mole left side ribs, mole left buttock, scar between thumb and finger and top of first finger right hand, cut on each eyebrow, cut on upper left arm, 42 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, gray eyes.
