OJ i , All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Ory are to he transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Gontrrvwnicatxon. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued^ and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of this - mature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the oovers, or give the number it bears, as without this information the mistake cannot bo rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the Abolition of Gaols, Stations, < fec., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. Description of ISAAC MILLER, native of Russia, who stands charged with having, within the past six months, in tie barony of O'Neiland East, parish of Shank ill, embezzled certain sums of money received by him for bis employer:— Dirk eyes, broad pro- minent ncse, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 2 inches high, about twenty years of sge, dark hair ; wore a low jerry hat, black jacket coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a pedli speaks English badly. Lurgan, 29th May, 1892, lar, and has a certificate ; Belfast. Description of EDWARD S. W. DE COBAIN, aative of Belfast, who stands charged that he did, within the past two years, at Belfast, commit an act of gross indecency with another male person, and within the same time, and at the place aforesaid did incite divers other male persons to commit sodomy;— Walks erect, iquare shoulders, corpulent, contracts eyebrows when speaking, gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, full face, stont make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 48 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a silk hat, black Chesterfield overcoat, black frock coat, dark trowsers, and dark vest. Description of DANIEL CONNELL ( mother's surname Touhy), native of Cloughoolia, who stands charged with having, on the 19th day of May, 1892, in the barony of Fermoy, parish of Monaniny, attempted to commit a rape on Catherine Healy, a ild under 13 years of age;— Walks with a swagger, H an impediment in his speech, and was in America for some time; dark brown eyes, regular nose, ruddy complexion, round face, medium make, 6 feet 7 inches high, about 28 years of age, black hair; wore a light brown hat, black coat, brown tweed trowsers and vest; is a farmer's son. Description of WILLIAM POWER, native of Ardvullane, who stands charged with having, on the 28th day of May, 1892, at Lattin, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Lattin, district of Tipperary, seriously assaulted John Dannaher, by kicking him on the head, thereby placing his life in danger:— Dark eyes, cocked nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 18 years of age, black hair; wore a gray cap, black coat, gray trowsers, and black vest; is a farmer's son. Description of PATRICK MURPHY ( mother's surname Moran, native of Birr, King's County), native of Ballycapple, Cloughjordan, who stands charged with ha sing, on the 17th March, 1892, at Bantis, in the barony of Upper Ormond, parish of Ballygibbon, committed a rape on Ellen Guilfoyle, aged 75 years:— Round shoulders, shaves all his face except small side whiskers which are sandy, gray eyes, rather flat nose, fresh complexion, broad face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 32 years of age, brown hair; wore a slouched black hat, blue tweed coat, trousers, end vest,; is a farmer's son; will likely endeavour to emigrate. Description of RICHARD ENGLISH ( mother's surname Carey), native of Carrowkeale, who stands charged with having, on the 23rd of July, 1886, in the barony of Kilnamanagh Lower, parish of Donohill, seriously assaulted one James Gleeson, by striking him with a stone, from the effects of which he died after- wards :— Cut- mark on back of head, high cheek bones, brown moustache and side whiskers as far down as ears, long neck, gray eyes, long nose, fresh complexion, thin face, active make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 25 or 26 years of age, dark brown hafr; wore a soft felt bat, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. Description of JEREMIAH FINEGAN, alias WALTER FERGUSON, native of Stradone, county Cavan, who has been returned for trial on the charge of having, on the night of 29th or morning of 30th April, 1892, in the barony of West Omagh, parish of Skirts of Urney, broken into the Manse in connection with the 2nd Castlederg Presbyterian Church, and stolen therefrom 26 keys and a piece of marble ;— Has a good address and appears to have got a good education; blue eyes, straight nose, fair complexion, regular faoe, medium make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 50 years of age, sandy hair turning gray ; wore a brown tweed cap, old drab coat, dark tweed trowsers, and black vest; is a tramp. Description of JAMES WELLS, supposed a native of England, who stands charged with having, on divers occasiodB during the month of May, 1892, in the barony of Rathdown, parish of Bray, county Dublin, unlawfully by fraud and false pretences obtained money and goods amounting to £ 3 14s. 6d. from Isaac Epstein, with intent to defraud:— slight limp when walking, speaks with an English accent, smart appear- ance ; gray or blue eyes, regular nose, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 30Jyears of age, light coloured hair; wore a brown felt hat, blue cloth jacket, moleskin tr iwsers, blue striped vest, white muffler, or tie, and new laced boots; is a navvy, generally at pub'- ic works. Description of JOHN WILSON ( mother's surname not known, but resides at No. 8, South King- street, Dublin), native of Glasgow, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 15th May, 1892, in the barony of Newcastle, parish of Kilcoole, being con- cealed in Bromley Demesne, under circumstances denoting that he was there for the purpose of committing a felony, and unable to give a good account of himself, lodging in the open air, and without any visible means of subsistence, and escaping from custody of police :— Blue or gray eyes, pale complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 35 years of age; wore an old dark hard hat, long dark coat, light trowsers. Speaks with a Scotch accent; is known to the police in counties of Dublin, Wicklow, and Wex- ford ; is a tramp. Warrant issued. Bray, 1st June, 1892. ( 16010 o.— 1482.) DUBLIN METROPOLITAN FOLIOS. 6 Division. Particulars relative toConvict BERNARD BOYLE, convicted at Belfast, county Antrim, oa 19th March, 1884, for larceny from the person, after previous con- viction, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servituda; 51 years o^ » ge on conviction, married, is a hackler, born in Belfast, where he resided before conviotion, and where his friends reside:— Light brown hair, gray eyes, sandy eyebrows, large nose, large mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high; varicose veins in legs, two flags and a gun on left side, B. B. E. B., two flags and anohor on right arm, B. B., Crucifix and heart on left arm, bracelet on each wrist, bald top of bead. r ' This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on licence, on 1st April, 1892. and went to Belfast. He left his residence on the 18th ulto. without notify- ing to the Police, and his present whereabouts is un- known. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under sec. 5 of the Act 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. 26th May, 1892. ( 417 H. C,) THE POLICE GAZETTE, OS HUE- AND- CRY, JTT1TE 14, 1892. Particulars relative to convict JAMES M'DON- NELL c 84, convicted at Dublin City Commission, on 28th October, 1886, for housebreaking and larceny, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude :— 35 years of age on conviction, married, is a labourer, born at Dublin, where he resided before conviction, and where bis friends reside; dark hair, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, small nose, small mouth, sallow complexion, round visage, medium make, 5 feet 4 inches high; eut on top of head, ruptured left side. This man was teleased from Maryboro' Prison oa licence, 29th February, 1892, and emigrated. He recently returned, but up to the present has not re- ported himself to the Police, and his whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under sec. 5 of 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. 28 April, 1892. ( 471 H. C.) Licensed convict, JOHN JAMES MORIARTY, Hue- and- Cry, 24th May, not arrested. ( 464 H. C.) MATHEW FAHY ( larceny of tea), Hue- and- Cry, 15th March, not arrested. ( 449 H. O.) Licensed convict, THOMAS BURNS, Hue- and- Cry, 16th February, 1892, not arrested. ( 437 H. O. ENGLISH POLICE. Sussex. Stolen, by a man who signed his name " H. Greves," and gave his address, 7, Albert- road, Brighton, a> 1 Holmleigh House, Queen's- road, Reading, which is false, about 27 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, dark hair with slight dark moustache, ruddy com- plexion with bright colour on cheekbones, gentlemanly appearance, dressed in black morning coat, blue and gray striped trowsers, black Oxford hat, and was wearing brown gloves:— On Friday, 13th instant, 4 dark chestnut mare, " Sutton," marked white below the hooks on both hind legs; white star on face; height about 15.1 or 2 hands; a set of brass- mounted harness, No. 18 on the bridle and pad, and stamped « A. DuPont;" and a dog- cart, marked " Hunt & Co." on the box of the wheels, painted dark green, picked out with black, with tail- board, dark green cloth cushions, and indiarubber mat, front seat, bat no back seat or lamps; whip, maker's name stamped " Schomberg," and branded " A. Description of a silver cup, plate, and spoon, the property of Venerable Archdeacon James George Scott, which were stolen out of his house at Bray Great, parish of Bray, barony of Rathdown, on the night of the 8th or morning ol the 9th of April, 1892: — A small silver cup, 8$ or 4 inches high, nearly hemispherical on a hexagonal fo) t, and a knot on middle of upright, engraved with " I. H. S." and other ornaments, gilt, but gilding was much worn; a silver plate, similar to foot or stand of cup, but 3 inches wider in diameter, the centre of it gilt, but gilding was much worn, engraved on it " L H. S.;" a small silver spoon for administering Sacrament in extreme cases, 3 inches long, and a cross on the top of tha handle. The enp and plate were usad for private celebration of the Holy Sacrament.
